So I finally decided to do this. I deleted a thread I started, because I wasn't sure about doing keto. I am afraid of messing up a day and totally screwing up my body though. So keep me accountable! Everyone seems to have great results so I am going with it.

Alittle bit about me: been lifting for awhile, always been athletic- I have a post-gymnast body. So I put on muscle easily but my legs feel big, and my arms look big. I really need to lean out without putting on mass. (of course I feel bigger than I look... all us women do! )

I will keep up cardio and interval training. My weight training will be varied because I have put together a home gym with dumbells, a step, a stability ball, medicine ball, resistance bands, and uhhh... my own weight. I will usually do full body workouts when I weight train- especially if I am at home.

Measurements are:
weight: 130lbs
arms: 11.25in
hips: 33.5
waist: 27.75
thighs: 21.75 (this I want DOWN!)

Good luck.

I think you'll do fine.

Meals: (Kinda rough today- I was getting an idea of where I should add more fat, etc. So meals were very random. I want to keep all the fats completely healthy- but cream cheese was the staple for most of the day until I hit the store.)

Meals
M1: 3 whites, 1 egg, 1 tbsp butter, 1/4c cheese
M2: 1.5 scoop whey, 1 tbsp PB
M3: 1 oz cheese, 1 cup of lettuce with olives,
M4: swiss cheese, 2 stalks celery, cream cheese and pb with splenda
M5: 1 cup of lettuce with olives and .5 tbsp olive oil, 3 oz chicken,
tasty snack: .5 scoop whey with cream

Calories 1497

Carbohydrate 14g
Protein 116g

Workouts
So I had energy today! Thought I would take advantage of it!
- started out with a weight lifting/ cardio dvd that lasted 70 mins and was hard. Good way to get rid of that glycogen! (right?)
- 15 min walk with the dog
- 20 mins punching bag- good way to get rid of frustration. ;)

So that's about it for today. Feel free to make suggestions. I need them. I want this to work- I can never seem to burn off body fat in the places I want to most. Motivation is down... I really need to see results to kick me back into gear. :) Plus, a wedding is coming up in 3 weeks and I'm in it. The bridesmaid dress fits okay, but I want my arms to look leaner. They never look good from the side :D

If I want a snack later I should have some broccoli with flax oil or coconut oil. I meant to but some psyllium husk in my shake this morning, but forgot. Attempted to drink some alone... yuck! I know I will need some tomorrow... ;)

After looking at the amount of sodium and cholesterol in all these foods, I feel like I am killing myself!

Will add my workout when I do it! I am late today on that! :)

Did a home workout (parents' house). Going back to my apartment later and will use the elliptical in our crappy gym. If it's open.

Anyway- the details:
- Alphabet with 6lb med ball. (This is fun- you spell the alphabet holding a medicine ball in front of you. A lot of squatting and arm movement. Really get into it and your HR gets up there!)
- Killer leg circuit x2 (from Ms. Olympia herself- see jaim's journal)
- Alphabet with med ball again
- Killer leg circuit
- 10 mins of punching bag work. btw- I don't claim to be a boxer of any sort :D But I like punching my punching bag. I got a little 30 lb bag a few years ago and loved it. Really tones the arms too!

This whole workout took 40 mins (roughly). I know how to keep myself moving even in a living room. :)

This week I will have to start packing up my apartment. Because of $$ and I don't want to get an apt by myself, I decided to live at home and commute. I also didn't want to get into a yr lease around school. They don't have 6 mo leases in student living. ugh.

I average 3 times the "maximum" recommended daily amount of cholesterol and double the sodium amount , I've been a walking dead man for years :p.

, it's even better with elbows, knees, and kicks, tones everything :D.

I will make sure to add those! :)

Also, since this is day 3 of Keto, when I do my first carb up?

Typical answer is to wait 2 weeks before the first carb up then decide whether to do it weekly or biweekly after that, when I first used a CKD I did it every weekend for 24-36 hours however long it took to get in about 800g of carbs. If I remember correctly the typical recommendation is about 5g of carbs per lb of LBM.

Just a note that I haven't followed a typical CKD for a while so you may want to get a second opinion :p.

Will aim for 2 weeks. It might work out best because over Aug 4th I might have to go out of town. It would be easier to stick to low fat, carby sources. Healthy of course. I don't want to feel like sh*t when I carb up. One thing I am craving though... oatmeal. MMMMmmm!!! Oh how cravings change when you are on keto.

Well- nothing exciting happened today. Except I severly need to take in more fiber. ;) yep, that's right my spunky readers. I need fiber.

Cals ended up being:

Total:
Calories 1573
Fat 115g
Carbs 27g
Fiber 7g
Protein 100g

I just had half a scoop of whey in water and man is my stomach mad... I hope this goes away!

Didn't have a workout today. Last night was pretty intense for 40 mins. I woke up pretty tired feeling today, despite having plenty of sleep. I went for a hard 30 min walk with the dog. We did a few hills... until she was lagging behind me. Border collies need some good hills in their walk. Or they will be bouncing around the house all the time.

Tomorrow will be Jari Love's Ripped 1000 workout. It's a full body weight training dvd with cardio bursts in between muscle groups. I love it! I just got it but I prefer it over a full body WO in a gym. :p I know, I'm a nerd.

If anyone reads this ummm soon.... any suggestion for a very upset stomach?

Disclaimer: Other than the ginger one, which works for me, I have no idea if these work so try them at your own risk :p.

Your routine is looking awesome! Although I am a bit confused about the Alphabet with a medicine ball--are you making the alphabet with your legs or with your whole body?

I know what you mean about Border Collies, we had one that used to smack you upside the head with a Frisbee like "Gimme a work out! C'mon gimme a workout."

Wooooo!!! Another Jari Love video today. I love those Canadians! She is so cute!

Oh I didn't explain the Alphabet workout that well. You are "writing" with your arms and using the ball as your umm... pen. So keep your arms out in front of you, elbows slightly bent (not locked of course) and hold the medicine ball. If you made an 'A', you would start at the bottom, squatting, use your arms to make the first slash etc. Come up to the top, then go back down to a squat again, making another line with your arms out, drawing with the medicine ball. Don't forget the line across! ;)

This is a good warm up or a good HR raiser in between sets at the gym. Really get into it. You can make faster, controlled slashes. Don't use momentum.

Kristen, that's funny what you said about the border collie getting in your face. My boyfriend said my dog is on speed all the time. haha
