Goals
Short Term Goal: Recomp with hopes of gaining strength. I will be logging this based on pure strength aspects.
Long Term Goal: Increase weight to around to about 275-300 lbs while keeping BF% low and to compete in strongman events, namely World's Strongest Man
Background
I started lifting in the winter of 97/98 when I was entering my freshman year for football. We lifted around a BFS type of schedule where we did 3x3, 5x5, 10-8-6-4(-2), 5-4-3-2-1-1-etc on rotating weeks. This is how I lifted all throughout high school and upon attending college for football, we also lifted like this. So for about 8-9 years, I lifted primarily on this schedule. After that, I've been tried a breif stint of a 5x5 workout and hated it. I also tried a variant of the Body for Life workout (workouts split into upper and lower body days) and I also hated it. Then I settled into my own variation of the Max-OT program about a 17 months ago and have been doing it ever since.
Training Schedule/Protocol:
I don't have set days when I hit the gym but I pretty much go as I see and if I'm still sore then my workout will just be delayed for a day. For each workout, I aim for 4-6 reps but sometimes I get as high as 10 to 15 before increasing weight 2.5-5lbs. Currently my days look like this:
Day one:
Legs
Quads (three of the following):
Squats
Front squats (not very good at these)
Hack squats
Leg presses
One-legged leg presses
Leg extensions
Hammys:
SLDL
Lying leg curls
Glute ham raises, or lunges
Calves:
Seated calf raises
Standing calf raises
Calf presses on leg press machine
Day two:
Chest
Bench (barbell or dumbbell)
Decline (barbell or dumbbell)
Incline (barbell or dumbbell)
Pec-deck
Flyes (incline or lying)
Day three:
Back and traps:
Back (three of the following):
Pulldowns (wide, narrow, reverse, or v-bar)
"Eagle rows" (that machine thing with the big pad in your chest; narrow or wide grip)
Bent over barbell rows
Yates rows
One-arm rows
Lower Back:
Deads
Good mornings (seated or standing)
Weighted hypers
Traps (three of the following):
Upright rows
Dumbbell shrugs
Barbell Shrugs
Behind-the-back barbell shrugs
Day four:
Arms:
Bis (three of the following):
Preacher
Alternating dumbbell curls
Hammer dumbbell curls
Barbell curls
Wide-grip barbell curls
Hammer curls with rope extension on the cable crossover area
Tris (three of the following):
Reverse-grip bench
Close-grip bench
Pushdowns (straight bar, rope, or v-bar)

Overhead dumbbell extensions (standing or seated)
Reverse dips (legs on a bench in front of you and hands on a bench behind you with weight on your lap)
Day five:

Bent over lateral raises
Lying incline lateral raises
Single arm trap/Rear delt dumbell rows
Day six:
Usually back and traps again and/or some sets of shoulders or chest depending on how I feel.

Diet And Nutrition
This might change along the way and I won't eat exactly this everyday, but this is the main plan. I stole about 90% of this from Chris (Cboesger) so I'd like to thank him for that. Unlike Chris, however, I do cheat about once or so a week depending on work and school schedules. Right now, this is about 3000 calories and may go up as I see fit.
Meal 1: 1/2 cup Fiber One cereal
1 tbsp unprocessed wheat bran
1 tbsp milled flax
6 oz (1 can) tuna
1 oz almonds
Meal 2: 1 cup Kashi Go-Lean Cereal (the high protein/high fiber one)
1 tbsp wheat bran
1 tbsp milled flax
6 oz chicken breast
Meal 3-12:00: 1 cup brown rice
6 oz tuna
1 cup fresh broccoli
1/4 cup fat-free cheese
1/2 oz almonds
Meal 4 (preWO): 1cup oatmeal
1 tbsp honey
1/2 cup skim milk
8 oz chicken breast
PWO: 1.25 scoops Dymatize Elite Whey or Axis Clutch
1 banana or 1 tbsp honey
1/2 cup oats
Meal 5: 2 cups oatmeal
6 egg whites
2 whole eggs
Meal 6: 1 cup fat-free cottage cheese
1 Scoop Dymatize Elite Whey or Axis Clutch
1/2 tbsp safflower oil
1/2 oz almonds
Totals: About 3000 at an almost perfect 40%/40%/20% split of P/C/F

I was feeling kind of odd/sick today, like I was about to puke. And somewhere in the middle of those DB shrugs, I thought I was about to pass out :eek: Hopefully my intensity was just high and it wasn't the IXL! I was sweating like a whore at sunday mass though!

That's still pretty good. A majority of the gyms don't have members that can move weight that high, so 140's are nice. I would probably do front barbell shrugs if I went there (my johnson and balls doesn't like the sound of that).

I have to go to the doctors for some sort of skin test as part of my physical for attendance at Buffalo. But the good news is my blood pressure is 120/60 which they double-checked twice to make sure. And even funnier story is that the broad checking my weight puts the scale on the 150 mark and keeps adding weight from there and I just chuckled at her :rolleyes:
And my laptop is fixed now so I can post my workouts for ya when I get back.

I don't know, my back is a little sore, but once I get my **** rolling, my back is loose and ready to roll. It hurts more in my glutes than anything, but I probably should do regular DLs later in the week, no? But my regular DLs were dropping like crazy too probably due to the higher reps and the SLDLs the day before. Either way, I'm noticing strength increases across the board :cool:
My extension/curl problems are stemmed from the high reps, definitely. During any other time, I would work the same but lower reps and still max out the machine; OLLPs, squats, and DLs definitely limited my machine work, which is fine by me. No pain no gain. Gotta roll to work now, details later tonight.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that my normal leg DOMS don't kick in till usually 36-48 hours later, thus making it possible to whoop ass on some DLs. So today, I'm walking around like I was reamed by Johnny Giantcock.

It was the Tri-C musicfest or Tri-C jazzfest. It was on Lakeside on the grass to the east of the courthouse right in front (me thinks) of Browns stadium. They had, perhaps, the best outdoor sound I've EVER heard, totally unreal.

Today I'm pissed because power went out yesterday; no big deal right? Wrong, apparently when the power goes out at the gym, they have to reset our keys and since no one works today in the office, it appears no one will be working out today. Our keys are those little barcode scanner thingys that you put on your key chain for a grocery store or something like that since it's a 24 hour gym....

That link is a negatory. I used to do those, till I read Des does these. Basically, these are one arm rows, but instead of your arm moving in a plane parallel to your torso (like the one arm rows), your arm should be moving in an plane orthogonal to your torso. Got it?

It's weird, I think it's working! Remember, I only take three a day instead of six because I take one megaman to cover the other half of the dosage of OT (I don't seem to be going through a lot of it). Since taking OT, I've no real joint problems, but I might really put it to the test and do some hack squats this week.

Yes, two of the four sides have mirrors, but the other two sides of the gym doesn't need mirrors because thats where the cardio stuff is and the "lesser" machines. I had a feeling I was shrugging somehow, somewhere, but I never really could put a finger on it till now. I normally watch the weight go up and down or whatnot, but I guess tonight was different :confused:

My ass is definitely feeling the soreness right now (no homo :p) from the SLDLs. I miss my OLLPs too, but I had to do the knee test tonight on Orange Triad. My knees are holding up okay, but still rather sore. They are not as bad without OT where it felt like they were bruised when I used to do them, so I guess OT really is working.
As for IXL, I feel it is working though I was on BA before this log, just not on as high of a dose (whatever is in Raganrok or Primal N2O). All my calf exercises went up in reps except for my later sets of standing raises and calf presses, but that's to be expected.

So with tonight's performance on Letterman, it is only fitting to post a video and shameless plug for these guys. I saw these guys by accident in Detroit when one of my favorite bands, Zox (http://www.myspace.com/zox) (see Post 139 (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=64446763&postcount=139) for their vid of "Thirsty") opened for them at the Magic Stick. It was an awesome show and you really need to see these guys if they are in the area. Their music sounds like a cross between classical punk (Sex Pistols and Clash) and old-school russian folk/polka and they put on one hell of a live show; all I can say is at one point, the singer gets crowd surfed on one of those big giant marching band drums while he's singing!

Today's workout was rather abbreviated but VERY good. The fibers in my titties feel like they were recruited VERY deep and it kind of almost hurts. I was flying through each exercise it seemed, and, most likely, here's the reason why. This little mother ****er 16 year-old took my shaker and filled it up with water, which I was cool with, especially since he came and asked around to see who's shaker it was and told me he did it and said he was sorry. So no big deal, till I was done with my following set, this dude comes up to me and tells me that he thinks that kid spilled my protein all over the water fountain. So I go over to the fountain to see if it was, indeed, my protein, and it was! So I had GF-pro all over the fountain and my shaker was filled to where I normally fill it with water (about 10oz) So I proceeded to taste the gfpro and see how truly nasty it had become from the extreme watering down of, and it was pretty ****ing gross. Here's what I don't get, my bottle has a black top, just like his, but mine says "AXIS LABS" down the side in black writing, whereas his said "I'm a little ****head who cannot curl the 10's on the ezbar without proper form" so that shoud have set him off, or at least see that there was two shakers that had black tops and check to see which one was his. Or the fact that my powder was orangish, his was purple, so right away with an addition of water to it should set you off and say to yourself, "****, I grabbed someone else's stuff." But the main thing that irks me is that the little ****er spilled out my **** all over the fountain. If I see him again, I think he's the first one to get the skill crushing.

Fine, and you? I FINALLY got my apartment set after they lost my application TWICE and I really tore this one dude a new ahole, then he finally put the owner on the phone and you know what the first thing that asshat said when he answered the phone?
"I have your application right here and I don't see a problem with it." A few words were exchanged, then he said "talk to Mike (the dude I tore a new ahole) and he will set you up with the paperwork" something along those lines. But I'm kinda pissed off about that **** though; what kind of company conducts itself like that? Not letting their workers know what is going on.... jesus h. christ!

It went through and the good thing is all utilities are covered!! I guess my apartment will be 60 degrees all the time :cool: I plan to move between the 14th and the 18th. I am moving closer to you, eh. I will be aboot 14.79 miles (27 minutes) from the border (according to mapquest).

One of our people at Axis is meeting up with Ryan DeLuca (CEO of bb.com) sometime next week and I have requested that he inform Ryan of his two moderators' actions, my departure from the bb.com community, and my depature as a bb.com customer as a direct result from those two moderators' actions. Is there any complaints that you have that can be brought up to Ryan? Either post it here or PM me details. I'm also instructing them to tell Ryan of Farang's incident and informing him of Farang's depature as a customer as well.

A long long time ago in 800BC, a young Mr. Froggy asked the yellow taxi operator,"sir, why is your yellow taxi fare more expensive? And can I be goofy with my mutant friends when I take your taxi?". Taxi operator keeps slient.
The 2nd ride came along, same question from the frog,"sir, why is your yellow taxi fare more expensive? And can I be goofy with my mutant friends when I take your taxi?". Taxi operator keeps slient and offer only a special discount.
Mr.Froggy is curiously puzzled why the other blue taxi operator charges at a more decent rate. So Mr. Froggy asked the 3rd time. ,"sir, why is your yellow taxi fare more expensive? And can I be goofy with my mutant friends when I take your taxi?" Same silence came. Mr.Froggy feel no good.
Mr.Froggy tried to understand from taxi operator's shoes and stay 100% loyal for all his taxi rides.
Mr. Froggy continued to goof with his friends from other mutants in the taxi ride. Mr. Froggy enjoyed goofy around these mutant friends because he REALLY looks upto them.
One day Mr. Froggy gets kicked very badly. Mr. Froggy was devastated and never understand why he couldn't dress up like a doll to goof around. Mr. Froggy asked why? No answer. Mr.Froggy said,"I only want to entertain my mutant friends". The taxi operator says,"NO! the doll is not you!."
Mr.Froggy puzzled and very sad. Mr. Froggy doesn't understand why he cannot dress like a doll to goof with his mutant friends. Going through its thoughts, Mr.Froggy noticed other froggies and some mutant beasts have asked the same question about the yellow taxi fare. He's not sure if they have any answers too.
Mr.Froggy said,"yellow taxi cab is good but don't care about Mr.Froggy. Mr. Froggy is loyal before but now devastated already."
Mr. Froggy's thoughts "No. Mr. Froggy will be strong! Mr. Froggy will stand up. Mr.Froggy opens door to blue/pink/white taxi operator."
Mr. Froggy said,"Mr.Froggy will try other blue/pink/white taxi."
Mr. Froggy took 3 taxi cab already for long rides. He took 1 ride with yellow taxi recently, only for a short ride.
Little did they know that Mr.Froggy is a pretty influential species. In fact, Mr. Froggy is very puzzled why people followed him in his homeland. Mr. Froggy sort of convinced some people from his homeland to try certain taxi ride. Imagine yellow taxi operator was any nicer to Mr. Froggy.
