Personally mine is doing something fun. Like paintball or laser tag! There is nothing I can't stand more than a first date at a movie. How can you get to know someone while you are glued to the screen for 2+ hours?

My favoritestest first date would have to be the only time I ever dated a military man: Ate dinner at Cracker Barrel, went to the "arcade" and played putt-putt golf and laser tag. I so kicked his ass at laser tag :D Man, that was fun *sigh*

I have two answers...for someone I just met, probably just drinks, I dont like first dates to last long...

For a friend or someone that I have known here and there I think baseball games are great...competitive fun and you're able to chat and its a good amount of time together, any sporting event really. But I love sports LOL. I hate the movies for the first date too...bla bla bla...

Just like when the hubby asks me what we're having for dinner...I say "you pick" he'll start naming stuff and I'll tell him....No.....no.....no...."Then what do you want?" "I dunno...i just don't want that other stuff"

As for what you'll get out of it, I'm guessing that with this attitude, you end up with a lot of knuckle sandwiches. LOL

LOL I hear ya on that...on a bad date I usually just get drunk (cause guys will do that for you) then take a cab home. I'm a bitch when I'm bored.

Yeah it depends on the person, if they are nice but its just not hapenning for me then I'll make smalltalk and go home early

If they are awful then I'll just be as much of an annoying b%$ch back as possible so they never want to call me again either!

It would make so much more sense to just say ok I'm gonna go home now sorry this ins't working for me but who ever says that!

wel for me it has to be a nice nite! i dnt like to go 2 dates wen its raining or cold. the best first date iv been on was wen he took me on a boat n we had dinna n watch the sun go down. i havent had a date that made me feel so good like tht in sooooooo long :P

ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS ****ED UP AND WILL USUALLY END UP WELL...THE EXACT OPPOSITE TO WHAT YOU HAD INTENDED IT TO DO...

Treasure the time you spend with a lady, i mean, she said yes didn't she so why go and screw it up? Sometiems the simplest idea wll make for a great date in my opinion. I like to cook dinner for them and have had many great dates as a result. Sometimes I think of places to go or things to do but other times (depending on their personalities or person in general) I found it better to see what THEY wanted to do. I always feel special to be out with a beautiful woman and quite frankly I think if you're a guy in the same situation you shouldfeel special to.

If I were in the market for a first date it would have to be some type of activity - dirtbike ride, jetski, mountain bike, volleyball, mini-golf, laser tag, anything that is sports related.

But my last first date was 7 years 2 months ago, he showed up to go dirtbiking with my brother and I "just happened" to be there to go too (there was a reason I spent so much money at the shop he worked at).

To be honest I think it'd kickass to have a woman that payed if she can afford it... I guess it could damage some guys ego though and they'd feel like less of a man or something. I'd be cool with it :D

I actually think paying 50:50 is fair, the guy pay one night, the girl the next, ect. That'd be for a long term friendship/relationship though, not a first date sorta thing.

Good thread, I'll never invite a woman to see a movie for a first date, seems like none would enjoy that.

Going out for dinner is my favourite first date - you can talk easily without having to scream at each other (some bars/clubs), picnics, all that kind of thing.

I hate it when men are tightarses... I'm not saying that women expect you to take them out for Don Perignon and lobster, just don't take them to McDonalds or something equally cheap and nasty - always organise to do something that will fit into your budget - if you don't have much cash, do a picnic or something, and you bring the food.

I went out to the movies once with a guy on a date, we lined up and decided what we wanted to watch, then he asked me if I wanted him to pay - "Because I can if you want me to" - talk about uncomfortable! I would rather a guy go to pay and then I'll say "I'll get mine, thats okay" or if say, he lines up for tickets and I line up for popcorn or something...

Bottom line, don't ask the girl if she wants you to pay. If you want to, do it, if she offers to pay for her half, put up a small protest but let her get her way - she wouldn't offer to pay her half if she didn't want to.

I go there all the time and usually get 1 double cheeseburger, 1 bacon cheeseburger and 1 junior chicken sandwhich (these are good as ****). damn i just got really hungry.

I always offer to pay or pitch in, guys look at me like Im stupid, sometimes I just throw the money on the table...but a lot of guys around here think if they buy you dinner its like buying sex...so I don't ever want anything thrown in my face...But I never have a problem paying for myself.
