A funny thing happened to me at the gym today. I've been tanning the last few days because I'm going to Florida next week, and I usually hit the gym afterward (since I'm already somewhat grimy and sweaty) just to get all my "sweaty messy" activities out of the way at once. I've been using this lotion:

So anyway, the last few times I've been to the gym, I've noticed a dramatic increase in the number of times I'm being approached by men. I was like, WTF? I look the same. Sure, I'm in better shape than I was, but I'm not in exceptionally good shape. Not that you could tell anyway, because my gym clothes consist of a long tank top and yoga pants. I don't wear makeup and I'm showing up grimy and unshowered with my coke-bottle glasses and barely-combed hair thrown into a braid.

Then at one point during my workout, I was on the lying squat sled, and a guy on the calf raise next to me pauses, takes out his earbuds and says, "Don't take this the wrong way, but you smell really good." LOL! I told him it was the tanning lotion. The lotion does actually smell good, kind of a spicy musk smell (if you've ever smelled Dune by Christian Dior, it smells like that). But that would certainly explain it!

I noticed a lot of guys seem to like the musky smells, like Angel, guys love that stuff...I'm not a big fan of it...but I will definitely have to try the lotion the next time i start tanning...

Mademoiselle by Coco Chanel does the same for me. It's much more musky than sweet and I get compliments on it every time I wear it :) I always would have thought guys liked more feminine perfumes but I guess not!

I usually alternate between a musk and a vanilla-type scent, with the occasional floral thrown in (Jessica McClintock). When I wear perfume, that is--usually I go years without owning any.

I always find it interesting to see the differences between what I like and what my sweetie likes.

The best trick I've found to picking a good scent: Take the samples home, try 'em out and then see which ones you like the best. It's so hard to tell in the store!

As for tanning lotion, I've smelled that one before, and you're right - it's HOT! I'm a sucker for good smelling tanning lotion....reminds me of the beach.

The bottle says it all ;)

Just to see an attractive girl in the gym is one thing, but add in the lucious scent and I might just have to go home early ;) And just a little F.Y.I limniade, you look amazing; so keep doin what you're doin becuase it's working. Take care and best wishes to you.

Extremely TRUE for me too H-AC !! prior to last christmas, i went out to pickup a small bottle of 'smelly stuff' for my little love, so i went to one of those big dept stores that have counter after counter of the stuff, with many many women trying to sell you 'their' brand.
well, being the gentleman that i am, i talked to each and every one of
them, and tried their 'smells' to see what i liked. TALK ABOUT CONFUSING.
by the end of the hour, my NOSE was FREAKED-OUT, and i thought i was smelling gasoline and/or turpentine no matter what bottle was beneath my
nose!!:)
i had to go out in the fresh air in the parking lot, and take MANY deep breathes before my nose would even calm down.
totally wasted the hour and purchased nothing.... never again:)

best,
~lifer

A woman who smells nice is a HUGE turn on. However, women who wear TOO MUCH perfume is a major TURN OFF. Wear just enough of some good stuff and....boing!

For some reason, I thought this thread was going to be about food! lol

Because right now I'm at work and I smell.....................pizza. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Regarding the topic, I like tanning lotions that smell like coconut, reminds me of the beach.

Actually, next time you go perfume-shopping, look to see if they have any shakers of coffee beans around. A lot of perfume counters will have that, to provide a "palate cleanser" so you don't go into smell overload testing multiple scents.
