I'm having this incredibly pain in my right shoulder. It feels like it's coming from the joint.
I recently have not been able to bench at all. I can barely do 3 pushups.

I can get a bar up, but once I bring the bar down to my chest I can't get it back up. I tried to do a 20lb dumbbell press and couldn't do that.

I recently started doing a lot of elevated dips and I've been curling a lot more lately.

Anybody know what this might be?
One of my friends suggested it might be a torn rotator cuff.

It's frustrating to have to take time off and miss workouts because of a simple pain, but sometimes the best solution rather than risk further damage.

I am relatively very strong with dips compared to my other lifts, but when I started doing them again last year, they "tweaked" my shoulders and I came to realize that it's just an exercise that I am not made for, or at least for me at my age.

Think about the movement...you are turning your shoulder "ball" in it's socket while simultaneously putting an angled stress on it that pushes on the shoulder joint in an outward direction. That would be like someone grabbing your arm and pulling on it to go out of it's socket while they simultaneously spin it around like a whirlybird.

If the pain is that bad, get it looked at!!!!

I would have had it looked at, but there's not a whole lot I can do right now since I'm in Iraq :(

Yes , that could be an issue.

Where exactly is the pain>? Can you recall an injury? How long has it been there for? Does any other movement or activity cause you pain?

I started doing dips and heavy curls lately, I think that's what did it.

But I can't do shoulder exercises, or any type of chest exercise.

It even hurts to put on my uniform jacket.
