I just got through reading the thread "Exercise info for newbies" and if you've read it you know what I'm talking about. I swear, I didn't understand what the heck that was all about. Is there a weight training 101 seminar somewhere online? Somewhere to learn specific, preferrably basic, exercises including the names of the equipment. Maybe shows pictures...at this point a picture book would be good for me.

Okay, so where does one go to learn the VERY basics, from the beginning?

Go out and buy Body for Life by Bill Phillips. It is very basic, comprehensive resource for beginners and it covers both nutrition and workouts. Also includes a 12 week program, if you are interested.

Thank you very much! I'm in the process of hunting for a gym, so I'll stop by Waldenbooks on the way.

I'm editing this for a question. I found a sticky thread in the "Exercises" forum (performing basic exercises) that might help a lot and I've read through it without using the links there. My concern is, someone will post a link to a site explaining exercises and how to do them with equipment...then someone after will post saying it's a horrible place, not to go there and it's bad form. So, what are the "good" links for real? Know how I can find out?
