OhioUstud's Log of DS Activate Xtreme

First I would like to thank 40 yard dash and uhockey for the chance to try this product. It sounds like a great product and I am expecting outstanding results from it.

The nature of this log will be to report things that I think are important to anyone considering use of this product. This includes:

updates on sets-reps of bench, incline bench, squats, and deadlifts
updates on body weight
a normal daily diet listed and then any deviations from that diet
a daily report on my cardiovascular work, as I do cardio everyday
a daily report on all supplements that are used, and when
a final objective and subjective evaluation of this product at the end of the logging trial
final comparison pictures

Current Work-Out Protocol
Monday

Flat Barbell Bench 5x5

Squats 5x5

Barbell Rows and some other back work. I will not be reporting updates on this because I do these exercises for the "pump."

Medicine ball ab work, 4 x 25.

Tuesday

Leg machine work and biceps isolation work.

Wednesday

Incline Barbell Bench 5x5

Deadlifts 5x5

Light Squats Day 5x5 with highest weight being set 3 from Monday

Light shoulder isolation work, and/or triceps isolation work (not reported)

Medicine ball ab work, 3x25.

Thursday

Back and biceps isolation work (pull-ups, preacher curls etc)

Friday

Flat barbell bench 3x5, 1x3, 1x8

Squat 3x5, 1x3, 1x8

Barbell rows (weights not reported)

Triceps isolation work (weights not reported)

Saturday

Light leg machine work, abs

Sunday

Light biceps work, abs

Additionally, after I get my postworkout meal and rest for two hours or so, I run 5k almost everyday as I am trying to get my time back down. Also elliptical work is done for one half-hour or one hour after running. That's right, over 1 hr cardio/day, most days. My reason for this workload is that I have all this free time before school resumes and I want to make the most of it. I would not train like this year round.

I know it sounds like a lot but I am not concerned for several reasons:
1. I have seen good results thus far.
2. My diet can support this.
3. My body is used a high level of training as I run year round and lift consistently.
4. My sleep is ideal right now as I am getting a minimum of 9 hours each night.

Also, school will be resuming for me in early August. At that point, the isolation and cardio work will be adjusted to fit the demands of school. However, the bench, squats, and deadlifts will remain the same.

Diet
1. 1 cup brown rice with tomato puree and ff cottage cheese + 1 banana.
2. Pre-workout shake, 30g whey.
3. During workout shake, 40g whey + 1/2 cup oats + handful of raisins.
4. 3 whole hb eggs + 5 more whites, lettuce, vinegar + 93/7 burger (cooked on Foreman grill) with ff cheese + 1-2 pieces provolone cheese
5. Post cardio shake = 20g whey.
6. 93/7 burger with ff cheese + More rice or a banana + 2 tablespoons natural pb.
7. Before bed - usually a ff yogurt + 1 tablespoon pb + blueberries (if i have them) + 1-2 whole hb eggs, 3 more whites.

Additionally I drink at least 1 gallon of water/day and several cups of green tea and/or regular tea everyday.

Work-out Plan

Isolation work - biceps and back.

Cardiovascular - 5K (3.12 miles) in 22 minutes

Supplements
1. multivitamin/mineral
2. x-factor
3. Activate X-Treme
4. HP CEE + whey pre and post workout
5. Sugar free Red Bull preworkout

** These supplements will stay the same everyday unless otherwise noted. If there is a change I will report it.**

I normally split up my lifting and running but I can't do it today because of time constraints.

Edit: Workout went very well. I had an awesome back and bicep pump going. The run felt good too. I managed to get my normal food in despite going to the Yankees/D-Rays game (Yanks won BTW). I'm going to the game Saturday as well!!!!!

Weight
191

Also, I ran into a friend at the gym who gave me a good diet idea...... I'm going to pick up some sliced turkey and down about 5-10 slices/day on a slice of whole wheat bread for some extra protein. There is a lot of sodium in those, but I am not concerned about it with my activity level and water consumption. Also I will be getting some chicken-in-a-can to add to my diet. Good source of calories and I may substitute it for some of the peanut butter.

Have you used x-factor before?

Yes. I used to awhile ago. I made good gains on it. Over the 50-day cycle, my weight went from 191-196, with the majority being lean. My lifts increased on everything by at least 10lbs. Additionally my diet was not as good as it is right now during this cycle.

I am pumped to see what gains Xtreme + X-Factor will give as I am starting Xtreme on day 23 of my X-Factor cycle. I am expecting bigger gains all around.

Workout Plan

Barbell Flat Bench - 260x1 (to gauge my 1RM), 175x5, 185x5, 215x5, 240x3, 195x8

Squats - 135x5, 205x5, 225x5, 235x5, 275x3, 225x8

Barbell Rows and Triceps isolation work

Comments - My bench is weak due to a shoulder injury I had that cut out my benching for several months. I am slowly recovering my weights on that. Also, my lifting buddy helped me on my 3rd rep of 240 on bench. Squats were a new PR, which isn't a surprise because they have been increasing each week on this plan. Didn't get as much of a triceps pump as I would have liked but I'll compensate for that next time I hit triceps.

Cardiovascular Workout

Alright, I ran 5k (3.12 miles) in 21:45. Then I did 20 minutes on the elliptical machine. Burned around 750 calories in all. I am trying to put weight on so I be sure to get plenty of clean food after cardio workouts.

Diet Change

After I ran I was having a girl come over so I drank 4 Bud Lights to get in the mood. This was a rare exception and will not be happening again anytime soon as I do not like to drink honestly.

Comments

Well as I am getting used to logging, I decided to tweak this log a bit and add some color etc.... My workout today is somewhat of a light recovery workout since I workout everyday. It's more or less just to get me out of bed in the morning. Also I have a heavy day of lifting tomorrow (heavy bench and squats) so I need to be rested for that.

Additionally I've decided to keep bumping up my clean calories to meet my level of activity.

Squat - 185x5, 205x5, 225x5, 245x5, 275x5

5 sets of Barbell Rows + 4 sets of medicine ball weighted decline crunches + 3 sets of Straight Leg Deadlifts + 4 sets of Dumbbell Flat Bench

Cardiovascular Workout

Short jog outside

Weight

Supplements

I had 1 serving of Universal Storm rather than HP CEE pre-workout today. Also my Optimum Nutrition 100% whey did not come today, so I am expecting it tomorrow.

Comments

Subjectively I look noticeably leaner with an increasing bodyweight. Not going to attribute this to any supplement yet. I will monitor it and I will provide pics at the end of the log.

Good luck dude. Are you going to log it?

I'm happy with my sets on incline bench today as I had stalled on that prior to starting Xtreme. I will be sold if my flat bench increases consistently as well, as that has been stuck for weeks.

My PR's on squats and deads had been increasing weekly for several months so no huge surprise there... still happy though.

Barbell rows, flat dumbbell bench press, close-grip bench press, skull-crushers, machine triceps isolation.

Cardiovascular Workout

Jog outside.

Comments

Well I have cut back my cardio workouts, mainly because I want to see how much strength I can gain on this stack. However I will still be doing my 5k several times a week, with some elliptical machine as well........ I'm happy that I put up 240 3x on bench, and if that is a sign of things to come then I will be very impressed. If I can put up 230x5 on bench Monday then I will be able to bump up all my bench weights.

Supplements/Diet Notes

Well my ON 100% whey finally did come (Rocky Road flavor) so I take 1 scoop pre=w/o and sip on 2 scoops during workout. Also I got a bottle of Ergopharm Amp. Two solid products that should contribute nicely IMO.

My diet has been solid. I eat pretty much exactly as I wrote in my first post on a sample diet. I eat a lot of 93/7 ground beef every day, which I cook on my Foreman grill. Also to be fair, I should report that I had about 10 beers last night before I went to a dance club on the beach(verrrryyyy fun times) I dont really like to drink but friends from my class are back in town, and the new incoming medical students as well, so we are trying to enjoy our last few days until class starts again. I won't be drinking again hopefully.

4 capsules X-Factor +

3 capsules Ergopharm AMP pre workout +

1.5 scoops ON 100% Whey + 5g HP CEE BOTH pre AND during workout (in shake with oats and raisins)

Comments

I felt an awesome pump in the gym while doing my chest exercises. Overall I just felt stronger and I believe this is due to the Xtreme and taking a total rest day. I think I will try to work in more rest days. While I did not get my 230x5 yet, I was dam close on the 5th rep and I think I will get it next week.

Again I made a PR on squats, though it felt heavy and I think I will stay at this weight next week unless I'm feeling strong.

Well I'm fairly certain I can attribute my recent craaaaazzy surge in sex drive to Xtreme, via the free testosterone. Honestly I feel like I'm 13 with regards to that. I also occasionally pop a Yohimbe tablet but it hasn't given results like this in the past.

2 new PR's today - Last Wednesday I noted 195x5 as PR for incline bench but I was looking at my handwritten lifting log and I only got it 4 times, with help on the 5th. Today, I struggled with 195 on the 5th rep on incline but my lifting buddy said he didn't help. Deadlifts are also up which has been consistent for months.

205x8 after all of my other sets on bench is an improvement; usually I need help on the 8th rep but I got it solid this time. I'm still waiting until I get 230x5 on Monday before I can bump up weights.

Deadlifts - 225x5, 240x5, 280x5, 305x5

Light Squat Day - 190x5, 215x5, 230x5, 230x5

DB incline bench, shoulder isolation work, 3 sets weighted decline crunches

Cardiovascular Workout

10 minute jog + 6- 40 yard sprint-jog intervals

Weight
192 lbs.

Comments

Well medical school will be starting again on Monday so I will be modifying my workouts somewhat. I am going to continue the heavy lifting on M,W,F, but move the isolation work that I do on those days to my other days. So for example, on M, I will do my bench, squats and rows, but not do back isolation and save it for Tuesday. This should cut my workout time down to about 1-1.5 hours. Also I will not be doing as much cardio.

My diet will also be a little compromised since I will have to rely more on shakes, fruit, and peanut butter. I still should be getting a lot of eggs though, as last semester I came home during my lunch break everyday and ate a huge salad with hard boiled eggs.

My weights were off for bench prior to today, so I went back and did it right. Should go up ~10% each set. 260x1 felt good and I'm pumped that I could do it, even after all my sets. That's the most I've gotten since I injured my shoulder.

Thoughts on Xtreme - No acne, still increased sex drive, lookin lean in the mirror, lifts are increasing, having more DOMS than I have ever experinced (not sure if that is due to weights increasing, or to Activate Xtreme (well I guess it could be both since they seem to be related).

ActX usually DECREASES doms sinificantly, thus me thinks this is jointstress secondary to putting up more weight.

Well it is usually the worst on the day after deadlifts so I will find out after I do them on Wednesday. Other than that it has been about the same.

285x5 was good on squats but Im going to stay at that weight next week to work on the form.... Bench was disappointing because I did 230x5 last Monday but today the spotter had to help on the 5th rep...... I managed to cook a ton of chicken breasts, 93/7 beef, rice, and eggs last night so I should have enough to last me all week to take to school while studying.

Preparing food ahead of time saves me a ton of time during a busy week. I usually cook 3-4 days worth on Sunday night's.

Cooking.......I'm just learning to remember that! :) Aside from weekends and the rare last meal of the day, I didn't cook anything aside from microwave in all of July. You'd be amazed what you can do with frozen veggies, fresh fruits, oats, whey, and tuna, plus various spices.

I love my oats but once Xtreme is over (tomorow) I'm going lowwww carb.

Tuna is one thing I can't choke down. Well I mean I can, but there are a lot of other options out there so I don't push it.

But yeah I'm loving the pre-cooking thing. I just didn't make enough chicken this week. Now I'm eating poached eggs and rice until I have time to cook again Sunday. I'm thinkin I'll cook 3 bags of chicken on Sunday nights and try to study at home while it's cooking.

I've been going through canned veggies like crazy as well.

Well MOnday was my first day back to school and I've gotten at least 5 comments from people asking me what I did over summer to get bigger. Of course a few anabolic steroid jokes/accusations (even from one faculty member). Sooooo I'm very happy about that and certainly feel that Xtreme had a hand in my progress (plus a toooon of hard hours in the gym + cardio). Libido still up, no acne, DOMS is average (I think before I suffered from the placebo effect.)

I wanted to work on my form for deads this week instead of increasing the weight so I did and it was better.

My above post pretty much sums up what I wanted to say.

There were strength gains on every lift. Made several PR's.

My biggest muscle improvements were on my lats and abs (see pics).

I would use this product again and recommend it to friends.

Actually I have a bottle of the older version of Activate that I plan on using after a 1 month off-period. I am interested to see if my strength gains on the old version will be similar to the Activate Xtreme.

Thanks again to uhockey, 40-yard dash and everyone else at DS for selecting me for the log. Thanks to everyone who followed.

My pics don't really show my improvements on lats but believe me they're a lot more defined.
