View Full Version : eat or not before morning cardio ladies?

I read the boards that all the guys were chatting on and they were all confusing b/c they all have good points to back each of there sides? Is anyone doing HIIT? What do you ladies think?

I am no expert and I am not doing HIIT but I usually just have some sort of 'green drink' before my early morning cardio. They range from 30-50 calories and are enough to tied me over till breakfast.

I was thinking.... would a scoop of protein powder be a good choice? Give you a morning boost plus protein for the cardio session?

I eat oatmeal before cardio if I'm lifting I'll eat some protein with it. The oatmeal gives you lasting energy.

My best answer from experience. I am fortunate my metab is fast and I have done HIT. I have done both empty stomach cardio and with a light low carb protien drink. I have found no difference in energy or fat burning in precontest preperations.

So if you do not feel ill or not see any major changes ( negative) try both. Each person responds differently.

i agree with misfit. i have done both - i usually have black coffee in the morning before my hiit when i am training...when i'm not so serious i have a protein sahke and like 1/2 cup of oatmeal. hope that helps a litte.

yes always eat before cardio, not a lot of course. but enough to keep ur energy up, you'll burn better calories and more fat over the period of time that you are doing cardio b/c your body is alert and responding well with fuel. you can't run a nice car with no fuel, ie you can't run your body with no fuel. good luck
