The Mars Volta is a little too 'out there' for me. I love At The Drive-In but I don't think they compare nearly enough. Personally I like Sparta a lot more than The Mars Volta.

excellent album, I love lots of gsl stuff. mars volta are vastly superior to sparta and at the drive in IMO. Im not really the type of guy that likes obscure mexican poetry but I had deloused on my playlist everyday for at least 3 months when it first came out

It is a brilliant album.
When I first heard Inertiatic Esp. I was like 'Oh my god, who are these?'
They are pretty original aswell when you consider a majority of music today all sounds the same.

"de-loused" is a masterpiece. It's one of the best records of last year.

Big bump. ATDI is the best band ever (EVER!!!!), but I can't really dig the Mars Volta too much. I love the first two songs, but it gets really freaky after that. When I first got the CD, I put it in my CD player and went to sleep, and promptly had horrific nightmares.

If you think De-Loused was out there wait till you hear Frances the Mute.
****ing insane.
First track kills it, 9 mins long and just as good as Inertiatic Esp.

Does anyone else find their ambient noises to be a little much? I like prog rock. Pink Floyd, Dream Theatre, ect. but Mars Volta is a little bit much. I think their MUSIC is good...but the ambient nonsense in betweens songs goes on for too long. It would be much better if they cut all that **** by half.

Nothing could change my mind after seeing them in concert. Worst on stage performers ever

lies. I saw them and they blew my mind. when did you see them? i heard they've really mellowed out recently, so that could be it. I started a thread on it a while back, mebbe i'll try to find it later.

the new album sucks so hard. Why do I want to listen to 5 minutes of crickets chirping?? Deloused is good though. ATDI was good too.
