View Full Version : Farouk CHI Products???? Thoughts?
Well....basicly i'm new to hair-care products, other than the basic shampoo and conditoner.
my hair is naturaly frizzy, so i wear a hat (i'm a guy)....but whenever i straighen it is better. but not as good as i like it to be
i had one of my chick buddies straighten my hair the other day....and it looked awesome, she used a bottle of CHI keratin mist....which of course i never heard of, but she suggested i grab a bottle.
some of you might seen my other threads on just overall haircare products. this one is mainly just for straightening....i've come to the conclusion that my hair loves frizz as much as i love ice cream. lol
anyways, whats your guy's thoughts on CHI products? specificly the kertin mist?

Not sure about the mist (will have to try), but their straightner is the best! It's the one item I cannot live without!!!
You could also use it with Biosilk (sold @ Target). Make sure to only use alittle and it'll make your hair super shiny and straight.

idk about the mist, but CHI has an excellent reputation for their straightening irons.

I have heard lots of good things about CHI but I have never used it myself.
You should always try a variety of products until you find the ones that work best with your hair.

yea thast what my buddies tell me. but i figure why not try it with a product i kinda know (barely, lol)....that way i know what to do/what not to do
it costs around 12 buxs for a bottle, would you consider this expensive? or not? its not very big, probably half the height of a water bottle and a little wider

That's not expensive to me, but I use Aveda...

aveda? how much does that run? (i have no idea whats good/bad.....or any idea of hair care products for that manner, lol)
just a question...........hair products for cheap? like at the dollar store? is that something not to be trusted? lol (i'm low on $$).
i actually saw a home pregnacy test at the dollar store.....................thats when you know society is f'd up

It's all a matter of taste really...never tried the dollar store stuff so I cant really give you advice on that.

hi
well guys, i ended up geting Frizz-ease, straighening answer. it was about half the price as the CHI, and i asked a few random gals about what they thought about the company./ they all said they would recommend it.
well see how this compares to no product at all. and that one time i used CHI

Generally with hair products, you get what you pay for. There are exceptions, but not many.

I also have heard great things about their flatirons.
lol yea thats what everyone said. i asked them about CHI products, and they all said
"Oh yea, they got like one of the best flat irons around"
and i would ask
"Oh thats good, do you know anything about there other products?"
and they would say
"no not really, i just know there good"
yea......................
on another note, i tried to straighten my hair. but the thing is i have one of those big ass ones. like the 2inch wide ones. and being a guy who does have "That Long" of hair, its really really inconvient.
i think my biggest issue is the back, it feels like i'm trying to solve a puzzle. but i'm not allowed to see it.......lol
EDIT: yea....so i did some research on some reviews of it.............turns out its crap...and that CHI that i was goin for...everyone loves it

I have a Chi Iron, The Iron Guard and Silk Ions. I use them every now and then, but for the most part I swear by Bed Head products. I use a head head mouse and serum along with the iron guard when I striaghten.
Unfortunately the straight look never lasts more than a day for me no matter what :( Especially when I work out.
yea....same here, but it'll still look better than if i didn't have any....
i'm really tired of this crappy "straight answer" stuff. i want it to run out allready so i can finnaly go get some of that good stuff. the Chi keratin mist...

Just realise that no mist or product will straighten you hair the way a flat iron does.
They may help with frizziness but they wont flatten your hair out.
I love my hair iron so damn much <3 <3 <3

I have frizzy curly hair and I don't use any products, I use pantene pro v shampoo stuff and I just straighten it and it works great. Sometimes I'll splurge on expensive stuff, but it does no different to my hair. I really believe its about the ionic blow dryer and a good straightner...That's where you should spend your money.

and endure the wicked "japanese thermal straightening" process (it takes somewhere around 4 hrs, costs a million dollars, but lasts a long time). If you don't, you will lose your passport in Metrosexualville if you seriously consider spending money on a lot of product or (gasp!) a straightening iron.
