Whats the best way to try and stay as close to your body composition after the show, as far as diet and cardio....I don't want all of this hard work to go out the window.

I just competed in figure a month ago.

HAD A TERRIBLE POST COMP REBOUND !!!

My advice to you eat waht you want the next day, on monday go back to the same routine you were doing pre comp. then slowly add carbs back in each week, and slowly decrease cardio.

I took a full week off and had major water retention issues, Im talking 5-10lbs fluctuations overnight. It was a horrible experience both physically and mentally.

good luck.

Thank you sooo much for your insight. I have heard all of these horror stories about what you went through and I really want to try and avoid it. Thanks.

A lot of competitors have that feeling of .. "what now" after a comp. My advice would be to take a day or two and eat what you want and relax on your diet, and then go back to your contest diet (like trainhard suggested) w/ added carbs and slowly keep increasing your carbs while your decreasing your cardio until your at a point that you feel comfortable with.
