I'm going to go take mine now...
I accidentally dropped a fish oil capsule in my coffee.
It wasn't bad, actually. An interesting alternative to creamer.

hey bro. That is totally what I want to hear and I KNOW ALL THAT! God damnit, I know it but I don't follow it. The thing I think I need to realize is that I can't do a diet hardcore (like I've done for the last two days) for 6 months in a row, very few people can and I am just not one of them. So I think I need to go back to what made me lost all the weight in the first place which was basically eating at -500 calories or so below maintenance and losing 1-2lbs a week. And more importantly, I need to only weigh myself once a month. It's funny though because I am learning all this as I go. Two years ago I knew none of this and didn't even know about water weight, etc.
Does that mean you are giving up on the velocity
By the way, Eggs, Avocado and chicken? I guess we all let the ball drop didn't we. ****.
Nah, it was plan. Fits into my calories for today.
It's for lifting later on...have a crazy leg workout plan.
And trust solid food more than liquid drink when it comes to energy efficient :)
Don't want a 315-340 lb barbell to fall on me :o
Or when I am Leg Pressing 900 lbs for my legs to give out
Those are my goals for today.

No, I plan to do what I've been doing for a long time, I think it's a very successful diet. I just neglected to realize that if I continually ate the EXACT same macros every day, my body would get used to it eventually and the weight loss would stop. So I may need to do "carb ups" weekly... which I dont want to do. But I am doing a quick one, 12 hours that is it and very limited. Tomorrow morning (Day 9) back on track and going to go very strong for 5 days because I work 6 nights in a row now and when I work, my diet is always good cause I am not just sittin around. Then I go visit my parents and Im going to keep it up d own there.

Btw got my cholesterol checked today and it came in at 227 overall which is very good IMO considering my situation when I took it. I am sure I can easily lower it to under 200 by the end of the year. That's one of my major goals. At 227 I'm only borderline high anyways and heart disease doesn't run in my family so I'm not too worried. On the bright side, my tryglicerides were really low..... like 33 or something. Oh and I'm also negative for hep A,B,C and HIV :D

I just started today and let's just say I nearly threw up about 4 out of 5 times. That guy who wrote the diet on t-nation lied when he said this metabolic drive crap tastes like dessert! Oh well, I already paid nearly 500 dollars for all the protein powders and supplements so nothing I can do about it >:( I just hope it gets much much easier from this point on. I am currently 5'9 and 167lbs all I want to do is drop 20 pounds till I start school in september.

...oh well. i know for a fact it works with whey, fish oil and a fat burner .. already done it
Glad to hear it works just as well with 100% Whey. I'm going to join ya'll for a couple of weeks and see where I get with it. I've been doing CKD since June 1st, so this won't be that much of a change for me, just a little more restrictive on the cals, but most of that will come from cutting back on the fat intake. I'm just going to use whey, fish oil/flax oil caps, and an ECA stack. I hope my results are as impressive as your's were on your first go-round.

Kinda hard with I am all over the place during the day.

Cawiau,
I can understand your puzzlement. But I'm in the same boat - I'm 5' 11" and currently at 164 - but my BF is still at about 15%-18%. I'm your typical skinny fat guy - I carry all my fat around my stomach / love handles. I'm hoping I get the same results as the person who originally did this diet and lose a couple inches around the middle. I doubt very seriously I could get ripped in such a short amount of time, but if I can get a real good start in the first 2 weeks without losing what little LBM I have, I might stick it out for the full 28.

Yep...the title said it all.
Why? I don't think I did so well on the first week so one extra week might be good.
Sure ? Yeah. I am leaving for Canada on the 10th of August at around 10PM. Going to be there till the 15 about the Same time.
So get back to NJ on the 16th and have a wedding on the 16th at 5:00 PM
So no gym till the 17th which is when I intend to start my veggies and meat diet.
So really need that extra week....
Promise to do cardio everyday

The thing is you can lose those inches if you do a clean bulk and lift like there is no tomorow in the gym.
Just saying ;)

Yep, I am also at around 17 % bf. What I am hoping to achieve through this diet is basically maintain what little muscle I have and lose fat. I want to get cut after I lose my excess fat :)

I hear what you're saying. It's just that after losing 40 lbs, I don't want to gain a bunch of fat back. So, my theory is that the leaner I can get, the longer I can bulk without getting above 20%. I'ts been a real struggle from 20% to where I'm at now, so I'm very reluctant to go above that. If I knew that my body would respond that well to a clean bulk, I might be tempted to go for it. But my body never really seems to respond like I think it should...so I end up resorting to drastic measures like this. :)

I agree. I don't intend to start bulking till I reach a single digit bodyfat.
The leaner you are...the harder it is to gain fat on a bulk.

Cawiau,
I don't have a hard and fast BF # that I need to get to in order to start a bulk, I just want to be comfortable with the size of my belly compared to the rest of me. I'll know it when I see it in the mirror. If that happens to be single digits and this gets me there, then I'll be a very happy camper.
Hope to see you hit the single digits though. Would be really cool to see one of those unbelievable, jaw-dropping transformations as it's happening. ;)

Very cool. Have you noticed any difference in your waist, or is it mostly water weight? I know you said you've done this before, just not sure how long ago and if you're shedding water weight now. Either way, it's got to feel good to see the scale moving so quickly.
Having started from a CKD where my last carb-up was 5 days ago, I don't think I have much excess water to get rid of, so probably won't see as drastic an initial drop as others have reported. :(

Weight Lifting
Squat 275*10 315*10 365*8 405*7 405*5
Seated Leg Press 720*12 810*10 900*9 900*8
Post Workout Cardio
Elliptical
Time : 20 minutes
Resistance : 8
Incline : 10
Distance : 1.98 miles
Comment : Only completed 2 exercises thanks to a group of stupid teenagers  It was 5 of them. When I started squat they were doing leg extensions and leg curls. I got done with Leg Press...guess what...the idiot were still there. THe gym was closing in less than half hour so I had a choice between waiting and praying they get done quickly or do cardio.
As you can see I did cardio. I will do leg curls and leg extensions, including calves raises tomorow morning before my morning cardio :)

I answered in my other thread so will quote here :
Pleasure.
I went before with my mom, brothers and cousins.
My fiancee did not get to go because she was studying for the MCAT and summer camp.
She is taking the MCAT tomorow and camp ends on August 10. So leaving August 10 at night.
Just me and her this time. ;)
Also, I love to travel. My fiancee love shopping, I love travelling. I save about 15%-20% of my gross income each year for travel expenses.
I got one life to live and intend to enjoy it.
I don't care about the new phone/car/elecetronics devices etc...but tell me about a place to visit or a trip and I am all over it :D
Also, can you guys check out my 10 day phase off plan a few pages back and give my your opinions...

Thanks man, i'm gonna revise it now as even though the 3000 seems right it's seems like it's to much. 2500 should be a good starting point so i'll up the calories at around 150 to 300 a day untill I hit 2500 and that should see me with a loss of about 0.75kg a week or like 1.5lbs or so...

WTF.... I lost 2.5lbs on the first day!
I don't know if that's water weight because prior to this I have been on the keto diet for a week and a half and thought I lost all my water weight. This is kind of alarming to be honest don't think it would be healthy to lose 2.5lbs of fat in a day if that is even possible.

Back on routine today, going well. Did a full 50 minute workout today and words can't describe how limp my body is right now, legs feel like noodles (squats owned me) and im having trouble even moving my laptop around cause my triceps/biceps/shoulders are so damn beat up. Decided to up my post-workout sshake to 2.5 scoops of whey just to make sure my body has enough protein.
I weighed in at 294.4 this morning! :O
Obviously my carb up was effective. My workout felt great today tons of energy. I am not setting anymore weigh goals, not even gonna weigh myself once. I've come to the acceptance that if I eat -800 cals below maintenance each day (2700 cals), and workout regularily, my body WILL lose weight and get in shape. Right now the scale is useless for me because I am probably experiencing newbie muscle gains and that is why the scale isn't dropping too much. Either way, it would be nice to see myself drop into at least 279lbs by the end of July... I think that will happen anyways. If I can get to 279lbs by July 1st that will mean I've lost 26lbs in 2 months which is quite amazing and inspirational.
Ooops that was suppose to be preceded by a quote from you on your blending situation Cawiau

I agree.... I got it as a gift and use it for ALL my protein shakes. Takes 5 seconds to blend the shake, no lumps. And it takes 5 seconds to clean the magic bullet too. Just put some hot water in it right after you're done drinking the shake, a little squirt of soap, screw the lip back on and blend the hot water/soap for 5 seconds, then rinse and it's ready for next time. No huge messy blender to clean.

I just started, but I've been on a Keto diet for about 6 weeks and wasn't really getting my green veggies, so I was mixing in benefiber with my PWO shake and that seemed to work OK. I'll probable stick with that for now and adjust as necessary.

I just bought some milled flax seed powder yesterday and tried it for the first time in one of my shakes. It didn't mix very well and left the bottom of the shake pretty chunky and tough to drink. So, I won't be using flax in my shakes.
I'm seeing 8-10lbs the first week... I know some is water weight but can you see a diff in the mirror? do you feel lighter. also aren't you guys afriad of lose skin? from the fast weight drop
thanks all and good luck!
I guess it depends on what your body was going through prior to the start of the diet. If you eat lots of carbs then you'll probably have a good chunk of water weight to lose. I was eating less than 30g carbs/day, so I doubt I'll see anything that drastic the first few days. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.

Actually, I used it. It just didn't mix the flax well, and by the time I finished the shake, the flax had settled to the bottom. Not sure if I used too much, or what, but I won't be doing that again.

This was also what I was expecting since I was pretty much eating close to 9 carbs on keto diet before this but I just lost 2.5lbs on the first day which is more than I ever lost on keto in a single day this probably won't continue but it shocked me for sure.

Check out the magic bullet.... Thing is a gift from god and it's small enough to be portable. Heh I take it to work with me every day and you blend it in the cup you drink from.... It's the best thing since .... hrm sliced bread doesn't really fit... i guess protein shakes will have to do... The Magic Bullet is the best thing since cookies and cream protien shakes! Truely a godsend.
Yeah...lately been seriously thinking about getting one

Try milled flax?
Yeah, that's what I have - cold milled flax seed from Sam's club. It's about the consistency of corn meal. I'm really not even sure why flax seed is so good for you, I got it because the guy that wrote the v-diet used it - monkey see... But several others on here have stated they had good success on this diet with just whey, fish oil, and a thermogenic, so I scrapped the flax seed. I am taking an omega complex cap that has both fish oil and flax seed oil in it, hope that's good enough.

Nope, but cawiau used on 100% whey, so it should do the job.
Magic bullet, that sounds like a dildo to me, lol :)
Recovery, you guys sound like your all so screwed up. I kick my ass and push it in the gym and don't get that sore, yesterdays workout was proably the best yet and I can fell it a little this morning... Might just have a really good recovery system...
Day 14 today, 2 words "**** YEA!", lol... Solid refeed meal today, probaly do my steak angain but have some pasta but I want chicken also, desions, desions! Grr... Either way it will be clean and it will taste so damn godlike when it will water in my mouth.!!!
I get so annoyed, you guys are like 12 hours difference from me so I wake up do my stuff and get on the forums and there like 50 new posts on the the or four v diet threads we have, lol...
Did cardio today also, upped it to 45 minutes from 30 minutes. 15 minutes at 75 - 80 rpm @ level 8 on the cross trainer, 15 minutes jogging at 10km/h for 15 mins and 15 minutes @ lvl 8 on the bike at 100rpm...
Cardio day today, so that means gym and cardio twice, bordering 100kg and I wanna hopefully crack it tommorow, might, might now but I hope i will... so I will do the same routine at about 4pm except its only gonna be 30 minutes, thats 1hr and 15mins all up :)

Probaly the same calories in 2.5 of my shakes but its a once a week refeed so its all good.

Hey guys. I like this idea of this bodybuilding.com velocity diet mini support group :)
well I got some questions before I start my 28 days
how much and when do you guys take your fiber supps?

I put two tablespoons of the flax in each shake but like someone posted, it usually sinks to the bottom so i'm constantly swirling. I should check to see if there is a more refined version in the stores.
As far as loose skin, everyone is in a different boat. I'm not to worried about it because I'm only 20-30 pounds from where I want to be and if I do end up with any lose skin it will get filled in when i start hitting the weights.
And I wasn't seeing much in the mirror until yesterday when I looked and thought, damn somethings happenind:)

I might start the diet but i only have Whey. I got about 11lb worth so that would last. I also have fish oil supps, green tea extract and multivits. So if i did do the diet i'd have to modify it and include peanuts instead of flax seeds or Surge.
I might buy and make an ECA stack but im not sure yet.

Good luck, buy some surge though or you will fell it while you work out. Or gateorade I guess, liquid carbs in the end. flax seeds are becasue of good fats and high diarty fibre to keep you full... Flaxseed pack costs like $3 for a pound though... Buy it...

I need some comments on this...
Everyone seems to do quite well on the keto diet and I like the fact that ketosis burns body fat for energy so ontop of cardio and weights your body is naturally burning fat. I might do it after a 40/40/20 for a bit...
I was just wondering if after the velocity diet is up, you have got rid of any cravings for bad food, will this be destroyed with a keto diet?
What do you guys recon? As the food on the keto diet, over a prolonged period of time might do this in the end, lots of fat is what i'm getting at...

I doubt you will need to do it any time soon. I'd also wait a month or 2 after the V diet before doing Keto. keto diet is basically meat, eggs, nuts and low carb veg.
I doubt it would be destroyed with the keto diet because the food is healthy anyway. Just higher in healthy fat.

Yeah...I guess
The final decision is up to you.
The reason I wouldn't do it because my intentions with the V Diet was for it to be a transition into a new lifestyle.
Like moving forward I will make healthier choice and eat clean.
SO if I am dieting, I will lower the calories or increase them if I am bulking or other varations.
Buit my choices of food will not be different or be BURGER KING / MC DONALD / or DOMINOES PIZZA.

Yea, alot of ppl...
I just finished day 14 today. Offical weight in tommorow! Yay!
cawiau, I guess so... But i'm not a very conventional person and I like being different and crazy. I wanted to try it before but never did, was at home, part time job, not much money and stingy day would not buy my food and I was to lazy to improvise...
Hell, once i'm fit i'm gonna skydive up and get about 1,500 jumps up and in a few years start base jumping. It could kill you in the act and it's a quite well know fact that it's just a matter of time till you really really **** yourself up from base jumping but to be able to base jump out weights the risk say alot of base jumpers...
Not just that, alot of other things, not very conventional, yep thats me...
If I do loose my cravings benifit I cn just do another v diet run when i'm bordering ripped to get it again and push the v diet and my body to the limits in a experiment to see if I can really cut the fat and be at 5% BF of so...
I like testing thing also, pushing limits... Even if it goes agains convention and pissess ppl off... lol, that me!

Down to 292.4 this morning. Yeah right, "down". My weight fluxuates more than a thermometer. That is why when I started this whole diet thing a month and a half ago I said to myself "I am going to only record my weight ONCE a week, every Saturday, in the morning". So whatever the number is when I step on the scale on Saturday morning is what I put in my signature. As you can see it's so wacky it's not even funny how much it jumps around. But I guess the bottom line is, I am getting results. Some might say "well last Saturday you were 289.6 and this Saturday you are 292.4, that isn't results". Well, I have such confidence in my diet that I know if I continue I will see the results. I'm done trying to figure out my body. Whether I am adding muscle, retaining water, or whatever, I know next Saturday I'll be down to 286 or whatever and then the saturday after that maybe back up to 288 or 290? who knows. As long as I see long term results I'm happy.
But damn I must be putting on some muscle iwth the workouts Ive been doing. I can already feel my biceps getting noticably larger after less than a week of workouts. Not just feeling larger, but they look larger in the mirror. My legs are stronger and triceps filling out too. Impossible? Well I've always had the gift of gaining muscle at incredible rates. But that is bad for someone like me who doesn't want to be the hulk.... but I know after another week or so the newbie gains/muscle memory crap will die off and then I think the fat will pour off in considerable amounts for a little while until that dies down too. Predicitons are fun :D Catching up to me yet caw? You must be close by now! Im going up you're going down!

Cheers guys. I can't imagine how you feel caw. Working out in the gym with the amazing workouts you pull, like, squats at 350lbs or 400lbs or whatever and yet you are still 299lbs. It's crazy. But the reason you have trouble loosing the weight is because you are just a tank with your muscle mass. If you keep putting up those massive squat numbers and don't let them slide, and slowly drop the weight, you will be a crazy strong guy when you start getting into the low 200's. I hate people who say **** like "Workouts are the key to weight loss. IF you workout in the gym 3 times a week you can literally eat whatever you want and never gain a pound"...... damn those people. The thiing that pisses me off is I haven't cheated once since May 30th, not once. I don't plan to either. Ok there was the carb up day, but that day sucked and I dont really feel it was a cheat. I just am always used to things coming easy to me. I don't want to become one of those guys who makes forum posts like "HELP!! For the first time doing this diet, I'm actually using Casein Protein. ON 100% Casein to be more accurate.
All I have to say is, wow. I have 0 hunger pains and it's been 3 hours but the fatigue is still there. I recommend this type of protein to everyone. Whether it be Matrix, ON, Low-Carb Grow, etc...

i'm 21 5'11 226lbs and want to get back in shape. I figure i'll use dominikm's diet as the template for mine.
1 question tho. i have some ON whey thats like vanilla ice cream flavor. it taste like ****. is there a preffered flavor. also it's got Hydrowhey. is that the right stuff? anyways thanx for all u guys for givin me the proper motivation to get off my ass and do something about it.
I'm using ON whey for the majority of my protein powder. Don't go for the strawberry, it tastes like crap with water. I like the cookies and cream and rocky road flavors. Usually I put a scoop of each in a shake. Also I've been getting fabulous results using the whey protein. Good luck it's well worth the effort.

So at this point in your diets, are you guys use to it? How are your cravings for food if there are any? Basically does it get easier the farther you go along?
I'm thinking about trying it, but usually if I don't get enough carbs I feel light headed, sluggish like. I do cardio first thing in the morning, and lift in the afternoon, but in between I would load up on carbs. I never went heavy on the fats, so do you guys feel like you are receiving enough energy for your workouts?
The first few days were a lil rough but then yer body gets use to it. Just check out the first week of everyone on the v-diets individual logs and you'll get a good idea of how it goes

My diet is proably right for you, you are about 35lbs heaiver that me though so factor that in with a bit more protien and fibre... I can't speak for anything but matrix 5.0, not sick of the shakes yet and it's working awsome. I've had ON's 100% choco whey and thats good, heard rocky road is awsome also. Have not used they for the v diet but ppl are using them with no problems.

Day 16 today, lifts when up again today, best workout yet, week three is a piece of piss... Lost over 12lbs now (as of morning of day 15)...
You will be a bit slugish and tired but you get used to it and if you force yourself to keep going you get over it. If you have to work it's fine. That acarb load, I do that, it's with biotest surge. Pumps me the hell up so much for my workouts. No proper food carb ups, will stuff up the vdiet.

Yes on the 1st 3 - 4 days, not the worst thing in the workd though. Week 2 is not a walk in the park but I though week 1 was harder, might just be me as week 2 sucks for most ppl. And yes, week three is a walk in the park :)

So let me understand, basically you guys are just drinking protien shakes, flax seed, and fish oils? What about veggiess, how is your energy levels?
Yes on the protein shakes, no on the flax, and I've subbed an Omega complex cap for the fish oil caps. It has fish oil, flax seed oil, and ALA in it so you get both Omega 3 and 6 EFAs. As for veggies, I'm not a big veggie fan, so I add a dose of benefiber to several of my shakes and I'm good to go, if you know what I mean.
I'm on day 4ish (started mid day last Thursday) and have lost almost 5 pounds. It's not as dramatic as some have lost in their first few days, but coming from a straight Keto diet, I didn't really have much water weight to shed. And I've done no cardio and no lifting (due to travel) at all. I'll be hitting the gym for the first time tonight since I started this thing. All in all, I'm very happy. Haven't really felt much hunger or a real drop in energy levels. I have noticed a difference in my love handles and upper abs. Still have some fat around the bellybutton, which I'm sure will be the last to go.

I do lift, I just haven't in the 4 days since I started. I was on the road and didn't have access to a weight room (it was under construction). I have an awesome home gym and typically work out 5-6 days a week (lift 3, cardio 4-5). Will be hitting it hard for the first time tonight after work.

I know I shouldn't be checking my weight everyday but after the first day when I lost 2.5lbs I have gained back the weight I lost within 3 days. This is my 4th day on the diet and no loss of weight is really discouraging :( My body is also no longer in keto mode which I was around a week prior to this diet.

Hey Guys...still holding strong.
Decide to up my cardio a notch starting today since I have 9 weeks left till the misc. competition ends.
So, the plan is 50-60 minutes in the morning.
30-45 minutes in the afternoon for the next 90 weeks.
Will see what gives.
I will not be able to lift for at least a week in August. From the 10th till the 17th since I will be in Canada. Will try but most likely will not be able too.
But I can definitely get in the cardio :)

Glad to see everyone here is doing awesome.
I decided to give velocity another go, this time for real. Today was day #1 and it went surprisingly well. I ate the velocity diet to a tee. Here is what my diet is going to look like for the next 21 days (at least) until my birthday August 6th. I am going to stick to this come hell or high water. I think what was stopping me was how unhealthy it looks but Ive realized people do such unhealthy things every day, and how bad I ate for 7 years. Also, when my dad was 50 years old he went a little crazy and dropped from 280lbs to around 150lbs in about 4 months. All he ate EVERY DAY was 1 apple and 1 banana in the morning, and 300g of deli chicken in the evening. That is basically like, 600 calories a day he lived off of for 4 months? So I dont think I could do any significant harm to my body in 21 days... unless I did what the Super Size Me guy did.
Anyways here is my diet. Day #1 is complete and I am feeling good. Not going to weigh myself at all for a long time, I want that shock value. I am going to stick to it the entire time I am out seeing my family too, including the workouts (I've got a gym pass)
NON-WORKOUT DAY
12 Scoops Whey = 1344 calories
3 tbsp flaxseeds = 180 calories
24 fish oil caps = 216 calories
Total: 1740 calories
WORKOUT DAYS
12 Scoops Whey = 1344 calories
3 tbsp flaxseeds = 180 calories
24 fish oil capsules = 216 calories
710ml Poweraid PWO (instead of Bio Surge) = 250 calories

Hey guys,
What do you recommend for Flax seed (seeds, oil, capsule, or powder)
EvoSummer
07-17-2007, 04:03 PM
It looks like I'm joining you guys as well. I was doing a Lyle McDonald diet and while it was working great, I was dreading all the preparation and cooking I had to do as well as not having sweet in the morning, so I was eating less then I was supposed to because I just didn't have the time sometimes. I really feel this diet will help with my schedule since it's all basically the same depending on the workout day. As a plus, all of you guys are doing it so my journal might not be as lonely if you guys stop by to leave a comment or two ;)
I've bought Chocolate Matrix 5.0, Lipo 6, and milled flaxseed. I couldn't find any Surge in stock anymore so I'm thinking about using my EAS Myoplex shakes. Does anyone know if that's ok?
I'm pretty up to date on what my calories should be, but I don't know how many grams of protein, carbs, and fat I should consume based on my weight (202lbs). Anyone that can lend a hand?
I'm running about 46 grams of carbs, 231 grams of protien, 49 grams of fat
Basically you want under 100 carbs, your weight in grams of protien or more, and as for fat, he wasn't to specific so I just tried to the origionators fat intake. Actually those numbers are pretty close to the guy who designed it. I'm at 206 lbs so we match up as far as weight goes pretty well. On days that you lift weights you are going to have a couple hundred calories more and more carbs due to your post work out drink.
EvoSummer
07-17-2007, 04:52 PM
Exactly. I know that I have to have 1500 calories on non lifting days and 1800 on lifting days. On those days I'll have my myoplex shake post workout. I think I'll try to keep my carbs, protein, and fat similar to yours and hopefully I have similar results. I can't wait till my order comes in so I can start.
Good luck:) Start your own thread so we can all keep track. Just keep in mind that the first 3-4 days are the toughest and after that it's all down hill. Also spend the next 28 days poking around the site to figure out how you are going to transition off and maintain all the progress you will have made. It's mind numbing at first but it starts to sink in. Good luck!
EvoSummer

Thanks a lot. I'm really going to try my hardest and will definitely keep everyone updated with my progress and my pictures.

Great mate, my weight loss has dropped right off though, I don't know what i'll loose this week. It's been said before, for basically everyone, metabolism drops off after week 2 so you stop loosing so much but the end result will still be awsome and i'm not gonna quit. Another reason could be that i'm dropping lots of fat but as my lifts have increased such a crazy amount I am putting on muscle for sure so the scale is not the best thing atm i guess...
Day 19 is basically over, got 1 shake left and then i've got my cardio, going to the gym in 1.5hrs with my mate. So yea, tommorow and i've do the double digits and then it's saturday with my refed meal and then suday weight in and week 3 will be over in no time!
I'm still considering a keto vs. my planned out 40/40/20 that i've got ready to go.
I really wanna do it and a keto would give me the best results while I have more weigth to drop that just the fat from a bulk later on, I know you can do it anytime but i've heard a few ppl say its better to follow a normal routine that a keto if you only have like 5kg of fat to drop from a bulk or so...
And it's a good diet, lots of good fats and good meat with the luxuary of some extra cheese and things like that, that you would not normal eat but its still all healthy...
Comments?
And again! Yay my lifts and going up so much! And i'm into single digits as of tommorow!
EDIT - MWHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! I just did post 666 in this thread! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still around bros! I am down visiting the parents. I am on day 4 of velocity and MAN it feels good. Being down here I went shopping to all the nutrition stores and also went to Popeyes. I found some SWEET ASS organic flax oil. It's friggen expensive , $27 a liter but it's good stuff and eating 3 table spoons a day it will last me 20 days. It makes the shake taste BETTER. I haven't weighed myself in a week now and I have no idea what weight I am at but it sure feels good. I am not going to weigh myself for a long time, but my goal is still 225lbs by the end of the cutting contest. Do you guys realize that as of today it's exactly 18 weeks until the end of the summer cutting contest? 18 friggen weeks!!!! So if you lose even 3lbs a week average that is 54lbs. So yeah I think some big results can still happen.
I dont have time to read the last few pages but someone update me on what ive missed. The latest gossip of the losing fat logs forum if you will? :D Cliff notes!

By the way, Cawiau, I can see results. :)

Hi everyone, I'm Mark. I'm keeping a complete log of what's going on day by day during this diet, so, I'll be sure to post it when I'm all done with this diet along with befores and afters...
I'm doing this velocity diet with AiRiC... or at least, I thought I was doing it with him, or rather, he was doing it with me. For some reason, my good buddy AiRiC up there seems to think that I'm being overly sensitive because of this diet. And since he isn't willing to give anything but his own opinion a single considerate thought, I guess I'll just spill my guts here. After reading everything I have about this diet, I'm starting to think it's probably not for him... He doesn't want to do the lifting 3 times a week on this diet, because he doesn't want to "get in the habit" of only working out 3 times a week. So, he's lifting every single day. He's not going to go for the oatmeal on Sunday, instead he's going to have himself some salmon, rice, and kimchee. I don't really have a problem with this of course, but, I wish he'd just stick with the program that was set up from the beginning. He's making modifications here and there, and they're upsetting me because I feel like I don't actually have someone I'm doing this with. I now feel like I'm just doing this alone, and someone else happens to be doing it also, just not with me. The so called "sensitivity" I'm encountering only seems to come out with him though. I can't really say I'm being sensitive, more aggresive actually, and very observant. But, I'm the one with a problem. There's no remote possibility that maybe he's just being more of a prick than he normally already is... and no possibility that he's wrong about anything on God's green earth... every time I have an opinion or even a thought, he does one of 3 things: 1) Interrupts me before I can finish what I'm saying, 2) Looks at me like I'm an idiot and have no idea what I'm talking about followed by him just laughing at me, or 3) Cuts me off before I can get out 5 words with "No --" followed by his omnipotent "knowledge" of whatever the subject happens to be... if it is me just being sensitive, then so be it... but since that's the only possibility in his mind, there's no possible chance he's just a complete *******... nooooooooooo, none at all...

Mate, do what ever cardio and lifting program you want, as long as you do it it's not bad.
As for the refeed meal, in all honesty do you wanna eat plain oats with some fruit? I go for a killer steak, twice thick slices of bread and salad... After a week of shakes it's the best food in the world!

Is anyone else feeling sensitive on this diet?
what modifications? working out everyday which I really wouldn't consider a modification but regardless I guess he feels alone...as for food
This is a direct quote from the "vdiet"
"what I eat on the free meal day This "real food" break will help me retain sanity and willpower, plus it'll provide a nice shot of healthy nutrients. The rest of the day though, it's back to protein shakes".
Retain sanity ...hmmmm lol
Here's my selection for the one meal cheat day.
Kimchi-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimchi
for those who don't know Kimchi has been cited by Health Magazine as one of the world's five healthiest foods, for being rich in vitamins, aiding digestion, and perhaps even preventing cancer... aka jesus
Salmon-
Is high protein and has something that is vital to the v-diet which is healthy fats like Omega 3
Rice-
It will be a blend of white & brown rice which works in as the carb in the v-diet as well as being the source of fiber.
dominikm- steak does sound good but i would just about any lean meat sounds really good right now.

Thought you weren't supposed to do cardio or much cardio while on this diet? I haven't been doing any cardio, just lifting 5 days every week. I did lose 15lbs in the past month (cheated for the entire third week, which I didn't lose any weight, but only gained about 2lbs.)
Yer not suppose to do intensive cardio at like 80% hr but you are suppose to get some light cardio in like a brisk walk etc....

So I'm now on Day 3 on the velocity diet and I'm feeling good. Yesterday I was feeling a bit tired, but I'm sure it was a mixture of the irregular hours I slept and my body adjusting to less carbohydrates. I looked in the mirror today and it looks like I've lost a good amount of water weight which is nice because even though I know it's water it's nice to see progress. It's been hard to stay away from that scale but I'm fighting it.
The worst part of this whole thing is that now that I'm dieting, my mother has made amazing food and the house is filled with doughnuts, desserts, and other delicious food. Since I've gotten back from college she hasn't made a single thing till now! I think secretly she knows that I'm dieting and wants to plump me up so that I'm unable to fit out the door to go back to school. Selfish! I'm staying strong though and can't to take measurements on Saturday.

Hey new to this site, was lurking on t-nation and their group. But I had actually made it here through Dominikin blog on a google search. I was wondering who else was doing this diet. Will put up stats, soon, seems like I'm the only woman on here doing it. I'm actually five days in already, after intial lethargic state in day 2, still going strong. The progress is pretty crazy lost about 9lbs in fives days, so yeah that's a lot. Some of it was water weight but not a lot because I was already following a clean, anabolic diet before. Well just wanted to say, "HI!"

yeah it did lol.... considering this is a relatively new diet, there wasn't much information so congrats on being the Professor, I guess! Day 6 has been great, I prepare all my shakes in advance in the morning and keep them in the fridge. This is just like anything some preparation goes a long way. Except yesterday I pushed a little too hard on my HIIT and almost felt like collapsing right out there on the soccer field. At least it was a plush green and gorgeous sunny day, but being zonked out in the middle of nowhere is probably not a very good idea. So I might take it easy today.

Ok I haven't fully started the V diet yet and not sure if I'm gonna. So far Mon and Tue I did a partial V diet cause I still have food left, and I just wanted to see how it feel on a workout (as far as shakes only). So what I did was consume shakes during the day and had a chicken breast and a half of cup of mixed frozen veggies for dinner and a cup of cottage cheese and 2 Tbs of peanut butter 1 hr before bed. So basically I had 1000 calories in shakes, 500 calories in real food, and 120 calories in (fish oil / flax)
I've lost 5lbs in 2 days
yeah Dominikm you're right about laying off the HIIT, the first 2 days I felt fine, but today I felt awful, and I'm not even on the full V diet yet.
I might try this partial V diet for a few more days I have a few tubs of cottage cheese and a few chicken breast left
I haven't ate anything today I might just say the hell with it and go a full 24 hours.

First I want you to know, I respect you as one of the helpful members of this forum, but I have to disagree.
For me, it comes Health then everything else. :)
but I have to answer this one :) To all concern this is not an argument just a clarification me and Arron are cool :)
I respect that but my question is are you married and do you have kids?
To explain my post I have heard many times that "if you are dead your no good to your family" and this is as true a statment as any but my post was to him quiting the V diet because of the stress it was causing him with the family.
If you lose you wife and kids because the V diet turns you into a carb lacking version of adolf hittler its not a good choice.
I understand it works and for single guys in college it may even be a great choice but for a man with a wife and kids it is not the priority. He can work on being healthy and eat carbs and bring happiness and calm back to the home
again sorry I been on vacation for a month

Days 11-14 are the most boring, this is is like riding a bike. But I did realize that I was taking too few calories in, about 1300, way less then I should. But it does explain my 4lb lost. That's 13lbs, but that's a lot in a short period of time. So I have to tweak it a little. I didn't notice but are any of you partaking the one solid meal at the end of the week as outlined by Chris Shuggart? It doesn't seem like it, but I could have missed it.

i'm done...
But yea I did do the 1 meal a week option and it's really good, my losses are bigger the day after that any other day of the week, spike metabolism I guess and you body burns right through the food and fat that day/night...
Unless some can explain it better...

Wow you guys are getting awesome results!!!
I'm expecting to lose about 2lb of fat lucky due to instructurs suggestions, but 5lb loss of non muscle in a week!!! It's great!
