As I posted in my diet thread, I am attempting to lose a little weight. Well I did. I lost 5.5 lbs and an inch off my waist last week. As I thought, I was just holding a ton of water. So, I'm back to eating more this week :D
About this week's training:
I adding some rest/pause sets (shown like 225 X 5,4,3) for chest and back. I don't think that added anything beneficial really, so I don't plan on doing them this next week.
Some interesting things happened this week. With squats, I had been slowing building my strength back up. Last week I did 385 for 3, and it was hard. I was feeling good this week so I put 405 on. I got 2 reps the first set (these seemed very hard). Then during the next then I got 8 easy reps?!?!? It's all mental. I bet I could have handled 405 a while ago, but I did not have the mentality (confidence) to do so.
Next was Rack deads. I made a new PR last week of 500 X 3. So this week I put 515 on and got 3 reps. I felt pretty easy, so I put another 10 on each side. Then got 535 X 3. I had been feeling good all week, so I put another 15 pounds on for 550 (I like round numbers). I did one rep with 550 and decided to stop, though I could have gotten more reps.
I think that's it for the weird things that happened this week.
I'll be in Las Vegas from next Thurs-Sun and will be lifting (with Str8flexed) on Thurs-Sat, but I'm not sure how my workouts will be structured.

Is the reason you puts chest/back together and legs/arms for added varieation or did you not like the previous setup?

Good Question.
I did this since I was switching my focus to a heavier rep range. I am alternating between chest and back exercises (thanks for reminding me to mention this), so each muscle group is getting a longer rest period, than if they were being worked individually.

Dude, make sure to bring a digi cam when you and Layne lift and when you go to the olympia (obviously). Have fun at the Olympia. I have a friend going with his dad; I should be going next year. Later.

Derek:
Next week is 95 for incline DB's!!?? and for 10 no less. I struggle to get 4 or 6 out of 80's. And I have 5 lbs and 4 inches on you. Just goes to show you what an extra couple of years of training and a perfect diet can do. Friggen Beast!!! I need to train with you and start to obliterate my muscles. I won't even start with the squats. Good Work, man.

Where are you guys training in Vegas? That's cool Str8 will be there too I'd like to thank both you guys at the Expo for your contributions to this site. I always bring up Str8's front squat video clip here at work before I head to the gym for leg day.
I think I'm going to go to one of the 2 Gold's near the area on Thursday evening or Friday morning, depending on when my girlfriend gets into town. I'm taking the rest of the weekend off however for party time, the Halloween parties should get pretty crazy.
3 more days of work.... counting down the days.

Definitely. I should be at Mandalay all day friday. My girlfriends birthday is Saturday and she's not quite as interested in bodybuilding as I am, so unfortunately I won't be able to go to the actual live show. She's cool enough to tag along to the expo with me at least. She likes to live a pretty healthy lifestyle too so I'm trying to convince her that she will have fun seeing everything and everyone the expo has to offer!

you say that you did not find these sets to be beneficial. Well I am following the workout and have forgot to ask you what I should do instead of these sets. On monday I did not do the rest/pause sets and did an extra set in the 8-10 rep range. Would you suggest doing this or more heavy sets or an altogether new exercise in inself for this spot in the workout. Thanks.
