Wonder what he prescribed to him the day of.

they reported that it was xanax, which helps with anxiety...

im sure youd be a little anxious too if you "thought" you might go home and kill your family

Doesn't matter, they'll still blame the steroids. It's always steroids fault.

I meant at the bottom of the article it says

"Astin prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past but has not said what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office June 22, the day authorities believe Benoit killed his wife."

Curious what was said in that appointment, and what drugs were given.

steroids are still a very logical possibility here, please take your head out the sand. i've said it once i'll say it again, why you wanna defend that crap i just don't understand.

until it comes back that steroids weren't to blame then keep your mind open!

Lots of people commit murders without being on steroids. Lots of people on steroids have never committed a violent act. So far about three people in history have committed a murder while on steroids. I really don't see the correlation.

 Get a prescription, pop a few pills, calm down and then do the deed. Nice work.

PaHulkster - steroids were found at his house, most likely for his use. until they're ruled out as a reason for why he did what he did, then roid rage is a very valid explanation for what he did. people can talk about timescales or whatever but why try and defend roids?

A comprarition to a gun there -

Lots of people die without being shot in the head by a gun.
Many people who own a gun has never shot any human being with it, just targets at practicecourts.

Still, you're saying that if a guy shoots another in the head, the murderweapon wasen't the gun? *blinks*

That is a horrible analogy, that analogy would be correct, if Benoit injected his wife with so many steroids that her heart exploded, then they are a murder weapon. In this case, it is being said that the steroids cuased him to go into a rage (crap imo, NOTHING he did indicated that he was in a rage). Unless, in your example, unless the "gun" caused the shooter to go into a rage and pull the trigger, your analogy is flawed. One thing is the tool used, the other is the root cuase

You're right, I withdraw that analogy. That's what happends when you try to be smart after 18 hours without food.

Sure blame the steroids not the "antidepressants" that show up in the bloodwork of every school shooter in recent memory and a ton of suicide case.

See here's what I don't understand. Steroids give roid rage in about 5% of users. And there is nothing in the past from what I hear that he had this type of reaction to steroids.

Killing your son doesn't seem like a murder due to uncontrollable rage if that was the case. Peole love their kids, I couldn't see getting so pissed off you kill your kid. Seems premeditated to me.

Xanax list of side effects include hallucinations, and deppression. Why pick steroids to plaster over every media outlet without knowing, and not also choose xanax?

Because right now "steroids" is the media buzzword. Read up on reefer madness from back in the day. See what most peoples reaction is to pot today....

and anti depressants are a perfectly acceptable form of medication, according to doctors. It seems like doctors are trying to dope us all up and make us more docile....

Xanax is HIGHLY addictive, and in addition to being an anxiety med, a lot of people that get their hands on it are using it as a party drug......

Because "roid rage" is usually total BS. Benoit was an experienced user, not some 18 year old from Jersey who thinks he's having some roid rage every time he gets mad. The facts of this case do not in any way add up to having anything at all to do with steroids. Steroids are just a hot issue in the media these days, and they will run with whatever gets them ratings.

They will never be ruled out either way. If Benoit's tests come back as to having no steroids in his system I predict that you won't hear a word of it from the media because it will be old news by then. If there are steroids found I predict that **** will hit the fan again.

That's pretty much how I see it too. and what PAHULSTER said.

In these a Sports Illustrated writer who was reporting on steroids in the 80's was shocked that there was no research to back up what he and the rest of the media were reporting.
