I think the card and phone book tearing stuff is sorta dumb but thats just me. To each his own though.

I personally just care about the weights. Not what i can bend or tear.

umm still undecided on my style.

i start the tear 1 way, and then finish it off a diff way lol. 2 hard to splain :)

once i figure out what i do and can tear a respectable amount of cards in a decent amount of time ill be sure to get a vid.

also ironmind red bend vid comin up in 2 weeks. i didnt post it here but 4 days later after military presses, i finished off the red i put to 68° last week. now i know i have the power to sweep 1 and i alrdy knew i could crush them because ive crushed a few. but the sweep part was always holding me back. so i got in a bend workout yesterday. and saturday coming up im going for as many grade 8's as possible. and then the saturday after that gonna hit up a red bend on video and just demolish it if everything goes well.

bwx4,3,1 (wow killed the chins, if u look at last week i did 7,7,2,then singles to complete 7 reps for the last set)

as you can see i got off to a slow start, and was lazying it, but then i got crazy and just powered it. instead of 90-120 second rests, i was only taking 45-60 for the speed sets. huge prs on the chins. rows went pretty good except i hit the floor a few times by accident.

then i moved all my weights bar and grip stuff downstairs, cuz i got my room back.

got it all set up with these special anti shock matts or somin with plywood on top so the matts dont get ruined but can still drop weight fast, instead of it hitting concrete. and mom is getting me a 1'' piece of ply wood to stand on to make up for the height the plywood and the matts make under the plates.
the goal is in 4 or 5 months to have a power rack and a db bench and then my gym is pretty much complete(unless i do somin stupid like last time). and then just buy odds and ends and ****.

Sorry for not replying yesterday. I feel ya on the heavy 385 set same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago when i doubled 380. It felt waaaay heavier than it should have. Nice work on everything man! Keep er going homie!!!

Dont worry about it man. I already told you this on AIM but maybe with the combination of coan and bending your hands are worn out.

my hands feel good, i think it was an upper body issue today.
deadlifting etc doesnt really effect my grip, my grip day is 5 days after deads also.

id think my floor is probly 250ish.

flat probly 225-240

i dunno ill have a better idea of what my flat max is once i hit up some paused tripples with 205.

my bottom end is pretty weak as u can see with my floor press being more than my bench :D.

I have the complete opposite problem man. Im real strong off the bottom but my mid range lockout point sucks. With your floors though id say you def have at least 225.

levering and finger extensor stuff.

i went to vid the official im red bend, put it to 70ish degrees quickly as usual. then i couldnt sweep the thing, then i realize i had knuckle room to hit it 1 more time, then i kept trying to sweep it, im sweating like crazy, its taking ****ing forever to finish this thing off. i get it to a 2.5'' spread between ends, then windows movie maker stops recording and starts creating the file i dunno maybe i hit somin or whatever. so im like ****. then i put it to well under 2''es after a short rest.

i scrapped the video i didnt let it finish creating. was pissed and didnt want to wait 10 min for it to create the file for a ****ty bend that took forever and didnt even catch the whole thing.

so the bend took me longer then i expected but i got it done. i got a pic of it ruht hur.

this is 1 of the older ironmind reds and its sposed to be pretty tuff compared to the new ones. strength in batches of steel etc varies a lot.

or you can go to a steel distributor and buy your own stock and cut it to lengths.

and go to hardware stores and buy bolts etc to bend.

just messed around a tad this is spread throughout the day

bent a 5.5'' blue indexes still messed just testing them

tore 2 phone books both 2.25''ers

tore 35 cards , sucked really bad tho, i gotta get better at this, im disgraceful at card tearing lol. i have no idea what im doing.

messed around with my farmers a bit.

took 3 or 4 steps with 250lbs per hand, god thats heavy as hell. and picked them up from ground a few times for fun. i cant wait for some good weather so i can take these out in the backyard and really go at it.

edit did more grip- did some more tearing 20 cards and 24 cards testing out a diff style, i think ima use this way now. did some 25lb hubs, right hand did some lifts, left hand was brutal, some air time once or twice then it just hovered. did some 25ers plate pinch, full lifts both hands a few times, did some passes. and then just messed around with farmers a bit.

dec 27th did some farmers today couldnt wait to try them out.

what a pain in the ass tho carrying 500lbs of plates upstairs and outside in the snow lol.

i shovelled a 30 foot lane in my back yard.

farmers walk

190per hand x 60 feet 1 put down at 50 feet (plates hit some snow and i stumbled and lost it. the turn around at 30 feet is hard omg awkward)

260per hand x 20-25 feet no put downs (heavy as **** i didnt think id take more then a step or two but i surprised myself, almost made 30 feet which was the goal for today)

260 per hand x 50 feet is the goal, i think i may be able to do it pretty soon fresh cuz i just did coan yesterday, but the turn around at 30 feet is going to be brutal, its hard specially cuz ive never done it before.

terrible terrible terrible. no prs, didnt match any prs, sucked at bending, wrist curls, levers, hubs you name it i sucked.

i then went out back and worked on my backflip. my flips are my tighter and cleaner now. im better at tucking knees and using my arms in the jump for more height. and instead of letting my arms flail around i grab knees when tucking. so im getting faster cleaner spins, i landed quite a few today, not the best landings. i am real tired and sore today so i wasnt getting a lot of jumping power and height. with some rest and some more practice i should be nailing decent flips consistently.

im sore all up the inner thighs, abs, and calves from the backflips from yesterday and today.. i hope the soreness is gone by monday for the deadlifts.

im gonna try and get a vid of a good flip and landing tomorrow. we will see how sore i am tomorrow lol. if im sore tomorrow ill try and get a flip on vid then take a few days off.

thats pretty much it

did some grip today, nothin special just some levers and **** since i pussed out yesterday cuz i had a bad workout.

i need to go do some high rep lifting **** tho, im so ****ing sore and stiff from all the backflips. i need to be loose for tomorrow, its coan day.

edit- just did a bunch of high rep gms, squats, front squats, RDLS, overhead squats, using bar, and just jumped around a bit, calfs still sore. may do another 1 of these before bed and in the morning.

flip vid is gonna have to wait till sometime next week, im too sore and i got coan tomorrow so ill be too tired to do flips for a few days after coan.

as you can see brutal workout. deadlift sucked, shrugs sucked, rows suck, and chins were sucky suck disgusting. i could barely even chin cuz my abs are still sore.

i think these past 2 **** workouts are from my sleeping hours being messed up, and eating like ****.

i better smoke 415, and 425 single these next two weeks, cuz i really want no less than 450 after coan.

probably no farmers vid this week, we will see tho, the back twinge came back on rows that i got last week from doing farmers the day after coan.

flip vid probably wed-friday sometime in there, im gonna take it easy on my flips until i finish coan, i get too sore if i do too many.

I think waiting until you finish Coan before you focus on backflips is a good idea, like you posted above. Good luck with both. :)

ye me too, but i think i did a lot of damage eating like total crap for 2-3 months and working full time. lost 10-15 lbs of bodyweight.

im sitting at 180 right now. my eating had some slumps lately and i was getting close to 175lbs, but im gonna focus hard and try to get up to 190.

450+ is just the goal for jan 23, im getting back to where i was, i think another 4 or 5 weeks and ill be setting all time prs instead of recent prs.

ive been making pretty good gains lately.

first 1 went ok, second 1 i dominated but went flying backwards

and 3rd 1 i didnt use my arms on the jump and i under spun and landed on my face, the ground was frozen and it hurt my knee haha, i hobbled back inside.

if u turn up ur speakers you can hear my sister laughing. i ended up with a nice snowball in my pants on the second flip haha.

as you can see i still havent perfected them, but ive improved a lot. the 3rd one i had a brainfart or somethin, i havent ****ed up that bad in a long time on a backflip.

ye its been a few months, but we just had a lot of snow the past day or 2 so its covered well.

update- did 5 of the nicest flips ive ever done. i really tucked hard and pulled in the knees, i wish i could have gotten these on cam. i was landing fairly erect, and solid, no hand touching at all.

also attempted my first backhand spring. it was so terrible. i basicly dove my head and hands into the ground didnt even flip over, it was brutal, but i got over the fear of trying it now i just need some practice.

oyea forgot about squat, my squat isnt the strongest its ever been either because i havent squated in a little over 8 months. i wonder where i am at tho. once i squat again shouldnt take too long to hit an all time pr.


fullback- thnx man. im loving pulls a lot these days. for bench im gonna hit the 2 and 3 boards more often. that is my sticking area, and i havent handled anything over 235 on a bench movement in 8 months so the boards will fix that too. i will also keep hitting the heavy paused tripples and doubles like i have been on bench.. my bench been improving fairly rapidly. its just lagging compared to my other lifts because i didnt bench for a while when i started back lifting. shouldnt be too long before i hit an all time pr.

i skipped grip work today cuz i was too busy.

although today i made a homemade yoke, and homemade pulling sled.

they ****in rock, cant wait to use these bad boys.

now i have a sled, farmers, yoke and flipping tires.

sled was basically free made it from a car tire, farmers about 100 canadian, yoke about 100 canadian and flipping tires were free.

next i want to get a log. probably buy one once i get working. and then after that probably make some atlas stones.

today was supposed to be a light day. but my 1 buddy was over and well you know what happened. didnt eat too much today and wasnt 100% but still went ok. i wish i would have went light tho.

then we messed around with my yoke.

390 - toyed with it. light weight
530 - heavy as beans did 2 lifts and held for a couple seconds.

aslo bent a grade 5 no warmup, surprised i could still bend this i havent bent in forever.

starting next week going to be doing some holds with yoke to get used to heavy weight for when good weather comes and i taker outside and do some runs wither and what not.

thnx fullby, it was a pretty good 1, hopefully many more to come.

ye man i hate it too. but i wasnt even supposed to go heavy and i was kind of messing around and it was a good friend, so no biggie. but i was a little mad. if i had planned to set a pr and someone did that then id be real pissed. i should have had my training partner lifting off and spotting me instead of him in the first place.

i dont really like lifting that late. but my training partner couldnt lift any earlier. i like to lift around 4-5pm these days.

Just go over your spotting guidelines that way he'll remeber. I hear ya man, 4-6 is the best time to lift, I used to like lifting late at 10 at night for aawhile there but that ****s catching up to me.

You probably hit that PR thanks to me motivating you how to bench properly. The 2 boards was probably due to me not motivating you to have proper tightness yet. I bet if I had a training session with you then you could probably hit your lifetime goal of 2 plates on the bench press after I was through with you.

I didn't want to spoil this for anyone, but in the next week or two I will have 300 in the bag. I 2 board pressed 250 for 10 reps by the way too a few days ago :)

Porky I am just looking out for you, so I don't see why your getting so mad at me and oldtime is always angry so thats not surprising haha.

And explain this to me Porky, why is my leg size just as big as my upperbody from just bench pressing and bent over rowing and their variations? And why is my vertical leap higher than ever? Sure a squat would make all of that even better, but I don't care about having super big legs where I get rashes on my thighs from them rubbing together while walking.

And if you want to talk PRs with me some more I bet I can hit 205 for 20 reps easy while benching.

Ok this will be my last post in this journal because you called me a "1 lift wonder" when I'm not. I posted my stats because oldtime was saying I couldn't even bench 250.
Just to show that I am not just good at one lift:

1) I also bent over row more than you with probably better form too (I row more than you bench)

2) I lat pulldown more than you

3) I can barbell curl more than you

Obviously I can do more lifts stronger than you, but your not worth the time to look up any more of your PRs.

And Oldslime how much can you bench press? I never saw you post stats or anything? Can you do 135 yet?

You won't feel top notch everytime. You may not get the reps, but you still gotta finish your sets. Drop the weight if you need to. Doing the work is more important than the intensity.

Latley my deadlift has been doin great, I always leave some in the tank now, I never go all out on a deadlift workout.

180x5 (wussed out mentally, 5th rep sucked and my wrists were hurting so i quit, should have had 7 or 8 on this.)

190x5 (5lb pr for 5 repper on second set, last rep literally took 10seconds, still not impressed with my push presses today)

strict yoke press

120x3
160x0 (called it quits here, almost 2am, i should have had this weight but it was so unstable and wobbley i was pressing it slowly. gonna drop weight and do more reps next week on this)

i really half assed it this week. im disappointed. still got a couple prs, but i was far from par this week, my god. tomorrow is deads, ima get wild hopefully and start off the week on a good note.

also just got some more protein power today, and probably pick up chalk tomorrow, im fresh out.

i didnt deadlift today, doing it tomorrow, doesnt really effect anything so its all good.

was to busy today, i would have worked real late tonight, but deadlifting is too loud to do that.

didnt do deads yesterday because i didnt get any sleep, about 5 hours. probably could have used the rest anyways. hitting bench up in a few minutes, may move it to tomorrow, ill see how the warmups go.

155x3 pc's, 3 front squats
185x2 pc's, 1 front squat

front squats from floor

205x6
205x6 (barely pc'ed this one)

pretty quick workout.

overhead presses tomorrow or sunday.
