Ladies, Fellas...is it ok to show if your muscles in public? Last night I was at a restaurant/lounge with a friend of mine (male); and we were up at the bar. As the night progressed we started talking to some females (3) (that were obviously deep into fitness by your physiques) about what is the best male/female body muscle part. And as you can guess skin started showing. One girl pulled up her dress so to see her quads and hams. Another Showed her shoulders and back. And then another showed her pec developement (mind you...just the top portion, not showing her goodies. So I had to follow up by displaying a six pack.
But we were not trying to show off in front of others...just comparing...like we do on this site; but in person.
So as you can guess this generated alot and I mean alot of attention; some good and some jealousy. But what I mostly understood or found out from the attention is that people around you that are not at a certain level....whether fitness, looks, money, or education will have a not so positive feeling about themselves and about you even though they may not out right say it.
So should one show muscles off in public is the question?

I think in a bar or other similarly casual and mixed (as far as type of people) environment - then it's just fine.

Sure, why not? I mean, what you all were doing was "friendly competition" and I think we all damn well have a right to show off what were proud of, so long as it isn't arrogantly. If someone has alot of money, do they not show that off by their possession? Flashy clothes, jewelry, cars, etc.
And really, who's fault is it that other people are not at the same "level" as the next, especially when it comes to taking care of your body? Don't ever feel bad about looking good, but don't be an ******* about it. Forget the haters :)

If you got it flaunt it...I mean why the heck not, you work your ass off to have a hot body, show it off, I ask guys all the time who are in shape to show me their muscles (in the proper settings, like a bar) and its fun and innocent. Who cares about who is jealous and what not, they are called insecure...they obviously aren't going to try and kick your ass. Plus it's motivating, to see a hot body, makes me want to go workout :)

Nope, no mandals for this guy. I have been guilty of sporting my combat boots though. The door greeter got my camera on the way out, apparently it wasn't paid for. I'll take requests to hit your local Walmart when I get back though ;)

Damn straight it's inappropriate!
Now... mowing the lawn in a bow tie with no shirt, that's appropriate... there's never an excuse to go informal

I agree with the "If you got it, flaunt it" :Di agree. And what's with all this common fashion sense how vertical stripes slim you down and horizontal stripes make you look fat. Annd all sorts of clothing styles that the only thing in common is they are designed to give the illusory appearance of athleticism. Hmmm, could it be that fit or fit appearing is actually desireable?

It can be tacky if it's just a look how hot I am kind of deal. As long as you stay somewhat humble about it it's fine to show off.
That's my 2 cents anyhow.

This. Kinda.
In a public restaurant/bar/mall/store type of thing, I'm keeping my shirt on. Always. You don't need to see my body, if you want to though, you can feel it! haha
But obviously, while cutting the grass, running outside, being at the pool or beach, yah, my shirt is off.

Its not showing off, its a public service. Like a well groomed lawn, or a manicured flower bed

I push mow my lawn - if I could get away with it (and look good while doing it) I'd go topless when working every time.
