So as I just said we just got our EL Green Mag today and there was no way I wasn't going to try it today as well!!

My workouts are a little screwed up right now because I'm flying back home to Saskatchewan on Friday, so basically I'm trying to squeeze all my days in before Friday.

Pre-Workout Supplements:
2 red Acid
1 Sesaglow
1 Sample pack of White Flood
(yeah I went all out on the first day)

The Workout: Hams and Tri's
format: reps@pounds

Deadlifts: 10@135, 10@225, 10@315, 5@405, 1@495 - I've been doing deadlifts on hamstring day to free up some time on my back day, it's going great and it's helping thrash my hamstrings.

Hamstring curls: triple drop set: 10@110/80/50 x 2 sets

Stiff-Leg Deadlifts: 12@135 x 2 sets

Overhead Dumbell Extensions: two handed: 10@100 x 3 sets

Tricep Pressdowns: triple drop set: 10@180/160/140 x 2 sets

Bench Dips: 12@Bodyweight, 15@BW, 20@BW

We followed this up with 20 min on the reincumbant bike, level 20 and random setting - we only did this because we had gotten up at 5:30 am this morning and went for a hike.

Post-Workout Supps:
1 Serving of Green MAG

Post-Workout Meal:
Protein Pancake(3 eggs, 1 scoop protein, 1/2 scoop oatmeal)

So now, the important stuff.... the combination of the Red Acid and the White Flood had me flying pretty high. I had tons of energy and was just pumping away at the weight with very short breaks.

ELECTRIC LEMONADE GREEN MAGNITUDE

So for my first usage there's not a whole lot that I can say about the effectiveness of the product, however, there ARE a few things that I can say...

TASTE: 10/10 - as many have said this product tastes deadly. The reason I give this a 10 is that the flavoring is awesome (at least as good as the Sour Green Apple, if not better) but it is sugar free. I found that most creatines that taste great are high in sugar but GM isn't, so it should be perfect for my cutting.

MIXABILITY: 9/10 - It mixed great however, there were a few crystals left at the bottom of the shaker (I didn't measure the water I just eyeballed it) next time I will use the suggested amount of water and re-evaluate.

So overall for the first test Electric Lemonade gets a 9.5/10, so far it's great, and I'm definitely looking forward to this log.

Not so much with the P/RR/S anymore, I've incorporating aspects of all three into each workout, really just working by feel right now.

So since we still have to pack and get all sorts of things ready tonight (plane leaves at 7:30am tomorrow) we decided on getting to the gym early this morning, I don't mind doing this every once and awhile but I usually feel so weak that I don't have the greatest workouts. However, I used RA and WF again pre so I was burst with energy today!

Pre-Workout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
1 sample pack White Flood
(like I said Stim-City, it was great!)

Wide-Grip Chinups: 10@Bodyweight x 2 sets, x-rep style 10@bw x 2 sets

Bentover Barbell Row: 10@135, 10@225, 10@255, 10@275, 20@135 - I wasn't happy with how bentover I was for the last set (not enough) so I repped out some more with a lighter weight to make sure the blood was getting where it needs to be

V-Grip Pulldowns: 12@200, 10@220, 10@240

V-Grip (cable) Rows: 12@200, 10@220, 10@240
I was giant setting these sets with a set of hangin leg raises, a set of frog crunches and a set of hyperextensions.

It was a relatively quick workout but I can feel that the muscle got some good stimulation so that's really all I'm looking for. We might do some cardio tonight, as long as we get everything else done first.

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag (still awesome)
10g glutamine

Post-Workout meal:
4 egg whites, 2 yolks
2 slices 12-grain toast

I mixed the EL Green MAG with some more water this morning and the crystals were totally dissolved, so that's another plus. I'll be monitoring the recovery effects of the creatine and glutamine as the day progresses, I'm feeling good right now, not too sore, yet...

Finally Steve has let me on the computer to get a post up. First off, I want to thank Controlled Labs and especially Pu12en12g for picking us to log this product, and for doing our banner! As Steve previously posted we both tried the Electric Lemonade flavor as soon as we got it, I must say the taste is fantastic!! I prefer to take supplements that taste good so Green Magnitude is already becoming a favorite. I don't have much time to write as I am heading back to my parent's place and only have limited access to the internet there, but I am going to try to log on and put up my profile tomorrow. Thanks for all those who are stopping by, I'm really excited to be doing my first log!!

So as I previously said this was the first day back after a few days off, I've been feeling like crap so I did it up hard!! I'm at a different gym until I can get home so I did some things that I haven't done before.

Incline BB Press ss w/ Widegrip Pulldowns: 10@135/10@180, 10@225/10@200 x 2 sets

BB Rows ss w/ Incline Hammer strength machine: 10@135/10@225, 10@225/10@315 x 2 sets

Hammer Strength Bench Press ss w/ V-grip pulldowns: 10@225/10@180 x 3 sets

Single arm machine Rows ss w/ Hammer strength decline Press: 10@70/10@185, 10@90/10@225 x 2 sets

DB Incline Flyes ss w/ Bodyweight calf press: 10@40/60@bodyweight x 3 sets

Crunches: 20 x 3 sets, Frog Crunches: 20 x 3 sets

Didn't do any cardio today because after all that I was wiped out. Felt good to get back into the gym to crush some weights again.

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
1 sample pack White Flood
(RA and WF = Stim-City, but I'm all out of WF now...)

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag (tastes even better with really cold water and ice cubes!!!)
10g glutamine

Post workout meal:
2 scoops protein
- since I've been eating like crap for so many days I'm dropping most of my cards for the rest of the week.

I'm feeling great right now and I can't wait to get back into the gym tomorrow.

So I've found a little time to write a bit of a background for the log. I don't really want to copy what Steve did, since that might get a little boring, so I'm going to do something different.

I've been an athlete all my life, in highschool I was involved in many sports including volleyball, track and cross-country. After highschool I was looking for a way to keep active and I came across Figure competitions, it was definitly something that I was interested in. In the last 2 years I have been able to place very well at the Provincial level which has allowed me to compete at the CBBF World Qualifiers (drug-tested) and at the CBBF Fitness and Figure Nationals. I take great pride in what I have accomplished but have my focus set on doing even more. I am also a full-time student working my bachelors degree in dietetics (to become a registered dietician).

My philosophy when it comes to training is that eveyone is different and you have to find what works for you. Personally I like to do dropsets, supersets, giantsets, etc, I find that my body responds best to these. When I do these I make sure to use a weight that challenges me all the way to the very last rep. As for cardio, I like to get outside as much as possible. I love to get on the trails and go jogging, do sprints or even just go for a long fast paced walk. If I'm stuck in the gym, ugh!, I use the treadmill at an incline or I get on the stepper.

As for my diet I like to just eat clean food, plain and simple. There's not a big difference between my "on" and "off" seasons, other than cutting a couple things out. I also use this philosophy when it comes to supplements, I like to use the basics, mulit's, fishoil, glutamine, creatine. I know these work for me and I will continue to use them, however, I am trying some new (new to me) stuff such as Purple Wraath and Sesaglow.

Now that everyone knows a little bit about me we can continue with this log. As I said before, I'm excited about the opportunity to use Green Magnitude - Electric Lemonade, yummy, and I look forward to everyone's comments!

So today I got to workout at a Gold's Gym for the first time. I have to say that the place was pretty awesome, especially as far as gyms in this area go. I did some shoulders and legs switching bodyparts each exercise.

Seated DB shoulder press: 10@60, 10@80, 10@100
Squats: 10@135, 10@225, 10@315
Shoulder raise giantset: lateral/bent over/front: 10/10/10@25 x 3 sets
Quad extensions: 20@140, 10@240 x 2 sets
Upright Row: 10@135, 10@185, 10@235
Seated Hamstring Curl: 10@110, 10@140 x 2 sets
Hamer strength shoulder press: 20@135 x 3 sets

Hanging straight leg raise: 10 x 3 sets

My workouts are a little off right now as I'm using equipment and gyms that I'm not used to. I actually can't wait to get back home to get back into my proper routine, these vacations/visits are all about eating like crap and drinking your face off and I feel aweful (physically) good thing I have my supplements fueling my workouts and helping me maintain my strength.

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
- no more white flood left.

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag
10g glutamine

Post workout meal:
2 scoops protein
- since I've been eating like crap for so many days I'm dropping most of my cards for the rest of the week.

Finally back home!! After many setbacks (i.e flights, visiting friends and family, spending a few days away from a cpu, going out to the lake for a weekend, and enduring 12 hours in planes and airports to get home) We're finally back!! I'm extremely excited to just get back at it, training dieting, the whole meal deal.... It's roughly 15 more weeks until FAME Maritimes, I went a little overboard this past week (since I haven't been home in close to a year) but I feel good, all the calories and time away from the gym probably helped me a little bit. All that aside, it's GO TIME, it's now or never, with Green MAG fueling my workouts it's time to start doing up Ronnie Coleman/Jay Cutler style, bascially meaning, "...you want to be a freak, you better train like a FREAK!!" I took the morning off work since I only got in at 4am this morning, but I can't wait until 4:30 rolls around, I'm going to do a shoulder workout that might kill a normal man, I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!

yesterday was a bust. We found out that our gym has had a major incident with getting some water in the electrical panel. As of right now we don't know how long the darn thing will be closed, it kinda messed up our game plan yesterday, but I think we'll just go somewhere and pay the drop-in fee today. It's really going to suck to pay 2 drop-ins but there's not much else we can do, we already exhausted our "free trials" around town when we moved here and I hadn't started working yet.

I heard something about a World's opening over in Dartmouth, maybe it's a Global, I can't remember, I think that a Gold's could clean up out here, if they did the pre-sales like they did in Regina offering 2 or 3 year memberships at $20 per month they would probably take a strangle hold in this area. Maybe that's an idea for me to bat around, I would just have to find 200 - 300K for startup costs... LOL!!.... I make it sound just so easy...

I am finally able to post again! After not getting back until 4:30am Monday morning and then having to go to work at 7:30am I've been a little wiped out. To top it off, as Steve said previously, we're not even able to workout at our regular gym. Instead, today we went to my University gym and I had a high-intensity workout. To change my routine a little I've started doing more supersets and have started doing sprints to assist with leaning out a little. Still loving the taste of Electric Lemonade Green MAGnitude, with it I've been able to drop a couple pounds while maintaining my strength. I've been supplementing with Sesaglow and Red Acid and feel that this has helped me shed those couple pounds. I had a killer back workout today and I'm feeling great about it. I always seem to respond well to the increased volume of my supersets. :)

Well obviously ~DD~ beat me to it but we went to her university to workout today as our gym was still closed down. The university gym is pretty small and they don't really have that many weights there but it works fine when you're in a pinch, and it has a cheap drop-in fee (plus she can go for free). Anyway, I promised a shoulder workout and here it is:

Power Clean and Press: 10@135, 8@135, 6@135
Upright Row: 10@185
Overhead Press: 10@155

Standing DB Press: 10@60 x 3 sets - could've done more but the DB's only go to 60.

Shoulder Raise Giantset: Lateral/bentover/front: 10/10/10@30
bentover/front/lateral: 10/10/10@30
front/lateral/bentover: 8/8/8@30

Single Arm Machine Press: 20@30 each side x 3 sets

Machine Sled Calf Press: 20@300, 15@400, 15@400 - Machine only goes up to 400 so I was stuck again.

Finished this up with 3 sets of 10 hanging leg raises, and 3 sets of 20 crunches.

We walked there and back so there was no other cardio performed today.

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
- no more white flood left.

During Workout:
Sipped on Purple Wraath

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag
10g glutamine

Post workout meal:
1 Whole wheat, turkey, lettuce and salsa wrap.

The workout gets B+, I wish I was at my regular gym because I really could've pushed the envelope a little more. It looks like we won't have access to the gym for awhile, so we might be staying at the university for a bit longer, maybe we'll go check some other places out but you just can't beat the university's price.

Powder, I don't really have a preference in brands, I pretty much just get whatever is cheapest. I figure I'm already popping enough pills every day so I just stick to the powder.

Steve and I went to go and work out at the University gym lastnight. I had an amazing bi's and quads workout. I was doing a series of super-sets and triple drop sets...OUCH!! The squats s/s with lunges is killer as well as leg extensions s/s with lunges. I find that my bi's respond very well to drop sets as I have the size in my arms that I want so I can still get a good burn without having to go too heavy. I took my Green Mag lastnight after the workout and my muscles are feeling really good today! Tonight I am working out chest and doing sprint intervals for cardio. Usually, I work chest on Wednesday's however we missed our Monday workout when we first found out that our gym was closed ...still no news on that...so I am a day behind. When I started taking the Green Mag (last week), I was 151 lbs(I think I have bricks in me lol). My goal is to get down to 135lbs and mantain it before the next competition season. Geez....she beat me to it again!?!? As ~DD~ said we did Quads and Bi's last night at the university, even though I wasn't able to challenge myself as much as I would've liked (due to the gym issue) I still got a pretty decent workout.

Squats: 10@135, 10@225, 10@315 - I'm just getting back to these after some knee issues came up again, I'm coming back to them slowly so I'm looking forward to my squats increasing during this log.

Leg Extension: 15@180, 12@190, 12@200 - could've went higher but the machine was maxed out.

Leg Press: single leg ss w/ both legs: 10/10/20@200 x 3 sets

EZ Bar Curl(standing): triple drop: 10@140, 10@120, 15@70 x 2
EZ Bar Curl(reverse grip): triple drop: 10@110, 10@90, 10@70

Seated DB Curl ss w/ Seated Hammer Curl: 10@40/10@30 x 2 sets
Seated Hammer Curl ss w/ Seated DB Curl: 10@40/10@30

No cardio as we had to rush off to Costco to pick up a box chicken, a huge bag of salad, a 30 pack of eggs, and some taboule(sp?)

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
- no more white flood left.

During Workout:
Sipped on Purple Wraath - This was our last packet so now I have to go without.

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag
10g glutamine - I think I only have maybe a couple servings of glutamine left as well - is it just me or does it seem like you always run out of more than one thing at the same time.

Post workout meal:
2 scoops Optimum protein w/ water (as I said I have to cut out any extras this week - it's working, I'm already down 4 pounds since I got back :) )

I think I need another paycheck to roll on in so I can start replacing some of stuff I'm running out of, we'll see what happens.

We took a day off yesterday (not really by choice) we're just hoping that our gym opens soon so that we can save some money on drop-in fees. By the end of the weekend I'll have spent about $30 on drop-ins (just for this week), and if this is going to be how it is then I might as well buy a whole month from the University for the same price, or start looking for a new gym, even though we still have 6 months on our current membership!?!?

So on Friday we attempted to go to our regular gym again, it was still closed, however, we've been hearing a new rumor that the gym has passed into recievorship (sp?) That really sucks if it's true because we've been paying installments every few months and actually just paid $100 a few days before we went on holidays, I think we've paid probably 80% of our memberships and still have 5 or 6 months left on them, so if it's true we're out that money.

So then we went back to the university, of course with our luck, it's closed for the night. So finally I'm really getting fed up with this whole situation and decided that we should go try one more gym because we really wanted to get a workout in. So we drove another 15-20 minutes to get to the next gym. It was pretty decent, they even let us have a free trial workout, which is pretty rare these days, most places want to charge you a drop-in fee that they'll put towards the membership if you decide to join. The gym was empty and I was able to do my chest workout without any waiting for weights, I definitely had that unsure feeling of being in a new gym but the workout was good anyway.

Bench Press: 20@135, 12@225, 10@275, 6@315 - first time I've don heavy chest since I've been back, should've done some more but I didn't want to push it too far too quick.

Hammer Strength Machine Incline Press: 10@225, 10@275, 10@315, 8@365 - I never really feel comfortable on this one, maybe it's because I only use it once every couple years.

Incline DB Flyes: 10@45, 10@50, 10@55

Pec Deck: 10@180, 10@190, 10@200 - maxed machine.

We did some cardio as well, I got on the x-trainer for 20 minutes, level 12 on the random hill setting.

All-in-all I'd give the workout an A I got a really good pump my chest is still sore a couple days later, and I even did some cardio.

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
- no more white flood left.

During Workout:
Water
- no purple wraath left.

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag
- no more glutamine left.

Post workout meal:
Since it was late and I hadn't had any supper yet I had a Protein Pancake for my meal.
3 egg whites, 2 yolks
1 scoop protein
1/4 scoop oats
cinnamon
Diabetic Syrup

Yesterday we were out at the Tall Ships Festival here in Halifax, it was an awesome day and pretty cool to see all those huge ships (especially for a prairie boy!!). We'll be hitting the university again today and I'll probably be buying a months membership because we can't afford to pay for 2 new memberships at the gym we tried on Friday, we'll just have to tough it out at the university until we can figure things out.

We just got back from our workout at the university. Even though I was tired going in, I had a really good workout. I took my Green Mag, Sesa Glow and Red Acid pre-workout and it really picked my energy levels up!! I trained ham's, tri's and abs today. I did about three exercises for each incorporating some triple drop sets for my hams and some giant sets for my tri's (killer!!). I am really trying to lean out my legs and also get a little more definition in my tri's as the size is there but not quite as defined as I would like them to be. Steve always bugs me about where I got my huge hamstrings from as he struggles to get the size in them (as many others do). We all have areas that come easier to us than others and some areas that no matter how hard we work we just can't get the muscles to respond how we want them to (for me my quad's). I am looking forward to a quiet evening as we both work tomorrow morning.

So I bought the month membership at the university like I said I was going to, hopefully by the end of the month we'll have the whole gym thing figured out. Like ~DD~ said it was Hamstring and Tricep day (might sound odd, but we like to split up the major leg and arm muscles).

Hamstring Curls:Triple Drop: 10/10/10@105/85/65 x 2 sets, 25@65

Standing Hamstring Curl: 10@45 x 3 sets per leg

Stiff Legged Deadlifts: 12@135 x 3 sets

Dumbell Skullkrushers: 2 arm/1 arm: 10/5@40 x 3 sets

Tricep Pressdowns: 20@150, 12@180, 10@200 x 2 sets

Bench Dips: 20@Bodyweight x 4 sets - like to pump some blood in there to finish.

Abs: Hanging leg lifts ss w/ Frog Crunches: 10/20 x 3 sets

20 Minutes on the X-trainer, level 12, random hill setting - I would've liked to do more but it was pretty much a sauna in there and I was completely wiped out.

Preworkout supps:
1 multi
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
1 scoop EL Green Mag

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
None

Post workout meal:
Since the weight has been coming back down (down 8 pounds since last Sunday) I decided to have another Protein Pancake for my meal.

3 egg whites, 2 yolks
1 scoop protein
1/4 scoop oats
cinnamon

Like ~DD~ said I'm totally jealous of her hamstrings, in fact most bodbuilders we know are jealous of her hamstrings, they just hang there perfectly with unbelievable shape, genetics are a great thing, and her hard work just makes them even better!

Yeah...I'm in negotiations with Johnny Tight Lips and Sammy the Shovel to take care of some business...

Today's workout was pretty decent but I hate looking around and trying to figure out what to do next because my options are so limited, but we make do with what we have and put together a pretty damn good workout.

Widegrip Chinups: 10@bodyweight x 4 sets

DB Rowss ss w/BB Rows: 10@100/10@185 x 3 sets

Widegrip Pulldowns: 10@150, 10@180, 10@240
V-Grip Pulldowns: 8@240, 8@210, 10@180

Cable Rows: Undergrip: 10@180, 10@220, Overgrip: 10@180, 10@220

Calf Press(on leg press) ss w/ Upright calf press: 20@400/20@300 x 3 sets

No cardio today as we wanted to get out of the gym quickly, it's so freakin hot in there with no AC, just a couple fans blowing around the stale, sweaty air. It could almost be considered a hardcore place until you see some of the members...LOL...

So I'm starting a new goal.....it's called 220 OR BUST!!.....I finally think that I'm ready to really start stripping off the fat and I want to get down to 220 lbs while maintaining as much strength/muscle as possible. I'm setting a 14 week goal for this plan, I understand that means that I have to shed ~40 lbs in 14 weeks but I'm kind of tired of carrying around so much weight (weighed in at 263 on Sunday - 8 pounds down since I got back(1 week)) Basically I'll be adding more cardio slowly and will be tightening up the diet, I'm sure with ~DD~'s help I'll be able to get back within striking distance of competition shape, having to cut so much weight is becoming more difficult each time I try and I think that if I can keep under 10% BF I will have a much better time getting ready for comps. So there it is....I will be posting any changes to my current plan...workouts will mostly stay the same, probably just add more supersets and giantsets...definitely will be increasing cardio a little, and will figure out a diet that is on target for this plan... I might add some supplements but nothing that will affect my Green MAGnitude log in any way. Any suggestions, critiques or criticisms are welcome

I'll have to really bust it but I think it's definitely possible, I've been getting alot of motivation from all the Green Mag logs and from following 5-6's TT log, so that goes a long way.

So it was quads and bi's day again, I'm still pretty sore from my hamstring day (usually) I would've had a little more of a break between the two, but with all the gym trouble we've had we reallly didn't have a choice. Following ~DD~'s suggestions I decided to increase the intensity and volume of the workout since the university just doesn't have the weights to go really heavy, I'll tell you that if you're not used to training that way it can really kick the crap out of you.

Squats ss w/DB stationary lunge: 10@135/10@40's, 10@225/10@40's x 3 sets

Leg Press ss w/Leg Extensions ss w/ weightless squats:
20@400/20@150/10 x 3 sets - this was ridiculous, by the end of each giant set I was barely able to get back to standing and by the of the whole thing I was feeling sore muscles that I didn't even know I had, it was pretty much a cardio session for me as well, since there was no rest inbetween exercises.

Widegrip BB Curl ss w/ DB Curls: 10@125/10@40's x 3 sets

Closegrip Cable Curl ss w/ DB Hammer Curls: 10@120/10@40's x 3 sets

That's all it took, the workout went quick because I was barely even taking 30 seconds between sets, just taking enough time to get a sip of water and then back to it. I also did some cardio on the reincumbant bike, 20 minutes basically peddaling in a sauna (freakin gym is so hot) and I was done, I had sweat pouring from pretty much everywhere, it's a good feeling, feels like I actually did something today.

Preworkout supps:
1 glucosamine/chondroitin
1 fish oil
2 Red Acid
1 scoop EL Green Mag

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
None

Post workout meal:
~DD~ made some healthy chili tonight so that was our postworkout meal as we didn't get back until close to 9pm.

It consists of:
Extra lean ground beef
Various types of beans (white, kidney, etc)
a little bit of low cal pasta sauce
some chili powder and cayenne pepper - Apparently she had already put quite a bit in but I like it really hot so when she wasn't looking I poured some more in, maybe a bit too much. It didn't go over to well when she first tasted it (she's not big into spicy foods), but I loved it.

I'm trying to decide whether tomorrow should be a day off or whether I should just go in and bust chest like it ain't no thing...we'll see what happens...

Lastnight we both trained chest/abs. Steve already commented on the high intensity workouts that we are incorporating at our new gym. They are feeling amazing!! I was tired going into my workout as I had a long day at work. I took my Green Mag, Sesa Glow and Red Acid pre-workout. By the end of my workout, sweat was pouring off of me and I felt great!! I would have rated my energy going into my workout about a 5/10 and after I would say about a 8.5/10. My chest is a little sore this morning, most likely from giant sets that my chest is not used to. Hope to be a pound lighter by the end of the week when I weigh in!!

As we've been saying it's been all about the supersets and giantsets lately. Since there's not a whole lot of weight at the gym I need to find creative ways of working the muscle to failure.

Bench Press w/ DB Flyes w/ DB Pullovers: 10@225/10@45/10@60 x 3 sets - as you can see none of the weights are really that heavy but doing them all consecutively like this really kills.

DB Incline Press w/ DB Incline Flye w/ Pushups: 12@60/10@45/12@bodyweight x 3 sets

Crunches w/ Frog Crunches: 20/20 x 3 sets

It's funny, when you do a couple giantsets that's all you really need to tax the muscle to the limit. I think that next time chest rolls around I might take a press out and do it by itself (using heavier weight) just to ensure that I'm not giantsetting away all my strength. Today I think we'll be doing hamstrings and Tri's again, we would usually have a larger rest between quads and hams but we've been adjusting our workouts so that we can get everything back in-line after the whole gym fiasco...which we are starting to here might actually be re-opening soon (after they went through some restructuring).

Yeah we gotta make the best out of the situation, but hopefully it works out.

After working some unplanned OT tonight I didn't get home until around 8pm, seeing as I started work at 8:30am I really wasn't in any mood to go to the gym, so we decided to take today as a day off to get in some good rest before we blast it on the weekend. It's definitely for the best because it gives us that extra day of rest between quads and hams so we can put in a full effort. Not a whole lot else to say right now except that I'm really hating some of the e-drama that's going on around here lately. I've been a member here for quite a long time but I had left for a good portion of that time due to the inane bickering/name calling/etc that had been going on, I only came back within the last year because it looked like things had improved. I think the board is still in a good position to keep control and can still be an excellent source of information but I think that all us members are going to have to bear a little responsibility in ensuring that the board doesn't collapse in on itself. Now that my small rant is complete, I'm going to bed.

Yeah, my hams are finally feeling 100% again so now I can rip them up sore they're sore for another 5 day (just like last time) might even do some Closegrip Bench Press now that my chest is somewhat recovered as well. I'm still contemplating starting something similar to your upper/lower routine, I think that after a couple more weeks of supersets and giantsets I'll be ready for a change and that might be exactly what I need.

So after a long day of working some extra OT we finally got to the gym around 8pm, quite a bit later than I had originally planned, but I gotta make that cash if you know what I mean. We still had enough energy to rip off a pretty good hams and tris workout (infact both are pretty sore right now as I write this).

Stiff legged DB deadlifts: 15@40, 15@50, 12@60 - decided to start with these both as a warmup and a good stretch.

Standing single leg ham curls ss w/ Prone Ham curls: 10ea@45/10@115 x 3 sets

Close grip bench press (smith machine) ss w/ Bench Dips: 10@135/10, 10@225/10 , 10@266/10 x 2 set

Tricep extensions ss w/ kickbacks: 10@150/10@25ea, 10@180/10@25ea, 10@200/10@25ea

Preworkout supps:
1 fish oil
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 scoop EL Green Mag
- out of glucosamine/chondroitin

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
None

Post workout meal:
It was pretty late so I just had a protein shake.

Overall this workout gets a B+ mostly because I was pretty tired and I probably could've done more if I had more energy. I actually had one of those energy drinks while I was working the OT so I had already hit my high before the workout and was "coming down" when I finally got to the gym. Anyways, I'm back in the office again today for a full day of OT but we'll get to the gym later on this afternoon.

It's pretty good since you end up working chest, shoulders and your back along with you tri's so you definitely get an full upper body pump going on, ithe volume can definitely humble you though.

We had a later workout do to Steve putting in some OT at work, so I was a little tired going in but again once I started my workout, I was ready to get to work. I feel great this morning and no apparent muscle soreness!! So I put a full day of OT yesterday, I was, of course, completely wiped out when I got off but I still wanted to hit the gym so that we could try get our workouts back on track. To bad I didn't realise that the university gym closes at 6pm on the weekends, we didn't even get there until 5:40, so the rush was on.....good thing we've been doing supersets and giantsets for our workouts, otherwise we would never even bothered trying to get the workout in.

Standing DB Press ss w/ Uprightt DB Row: 10@40/10@40, 10@50/10@50, 10@60/10@60 - These were harder than they sound since I only took about 15 seconds rest between each set.

Shoulder Giantset: Lateral Raise/Bentover Raise/Front Raise:
10@25/10@25/10@25 x 3 sets - once again 15 - 20 seconds rest between each set.

NOTE: So by now my shoulders are totally pumped and sore, they feel like they about to burst. However, my traps were even worse, they were pumped up beyond belief, I think it's because in rushing to get my workout completed I was a little lazy with my form but I didn't quite feel like I was done yet so I kept going.

Single Arm Machine Press ss w/ BB Shrugs: 20ea@40/20@225 x 3 sets - maybe 25 - 30 seconds between each of these sets (was getting tired)

That was it and we got out of there pretty much right on time, so add in a few minutes on each side of the workout for me to change and we probably did the whole workout in just over 15 minutes. I'll tell you, doing that much in that short of time has me feeling mighty sore today, I'm working OT again but hopefully I'll get out of here with enough time to get a proper back workout in, I want to do some deadlifts because I haven't been able to do them in a couple weeks du to all the issues.

Preworkout supps:

1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 scoop EL Green Mag
- out of glucosamine/chondroitin

During Workout:

Post-Workout supps:

So yesterday was scheduled to be my Back workout. After working another full 8 hour shift of OT and then going to pick up groceries at Costco, I was struggling to amass the energy for a good workout. However, we made sure that we went, regardless of energy level, just so that we can get back on track with our regular schedule.

Deadlifts: 10@135, 10@225, 10@315, 10@225, 10@135 - There was a guy in the gym using some plates for chest so this was pretty much as heavy as I could go because there were no more plates around, good thing though, my back was sore after just this.

Widegrip Chinups ss w/ Bentover BB Rows: 10@BW/10@185 x 3 sets

Vgrip Pulldowns ss w/ Vgrip Rows: 10@240/10@235 x 3 sets - maxed out both stacks, they didn't "feel" like legit amounts.

15 minutes on the reincumbant bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill, 5 incline, 4.0 mph.

My head just wasn't in it for that workout. I probably should have taken the day off and rested (as I really didn't have any rest on the weekend) but I wanted to get back on track with our workouts. Today should be better (even though I am working more OT tonight).

Preworkout supps:

So as the title says we don't have a whole lot of weight at the university gym, the dumbells only go up to 60's and there are only 6 45 lbs plates, but it's all we have right now so we have to make do, it's all about planning the workout a little more. You don't have the option of just going in there and blasting out super heavy weight, so you have to be a bit more tactical in your attack.

Squats: 10@135, 10@225, 10@315, 10@225, 10@135 - surprisingly I didn't have to much pain on these, my knees felt decent so I think things are looking up.

Smith Press ATG Front Squats ss w/ Machine Leg Press ss w/ Quad Extensions
10@135 / 20@300 / 20@150 x 3 sets - These blew my quads apart, the burn was ridiculous and I was having some dry heaves, they are done with no rest between them and only 45 seconds between each giantset. (painful).

Barbell Curl ss w/ Alternating DB Curl ss w/ Alternating Hammer Curl:
10@105 / 10ea@30 / 10ea@25 x 3 sets - by the time these were done (much like my legs) I had an immense burn going on.

Cable Curls ss w/ Incline Crunch ss w/ Frog Crunch: 20@90/20/20, 25@80/20/20, 30@70/20/20

Since our legs were fried there was no point in doing cardio because we wouldn't have been able to even if we wanted to. Overall, the workout gets an A, definitely worth my while even though it was a little different from the usual heavy training that I like doing.

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 Pkg of StarChem Labs Armageddon - had a free sample and needed a major boost of energy after working OT again - didn't really deliver on it's promises, I'll be posting a review on it and their Evolution product when I finish all four packets.

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
1 scoop EL Green Mag - it's not until you try something else (see above) that you realize just how good EL-GM actually is!!

Post workout meal:
Protein pancake.

Today we decided to take a day off. After blasting our quads and bi's yesterday we were both feeling a bit sore, add to that, me having worked OT again (six days in a row now) and it was a good time for some extra rest. Plus I got to crunch some numbers on whether or not it would be profitable for me to go work in Fort McMurray for awhile (at least until ~DD~'s done school) we're definitely considering it right now. Tomorrow is CHEST and I can't wait, I'm going to get some giantsets going for chest and tear up every last little muscle fiber.

Yesterday was chest day, it's always a good day for me because it's easily the strongest and most responsive area to train, although our "current" gym lacks the weight to go really heavy I have adapted my workout to make sure I still get to muscular failure.

Smith Bench Press ss w/ Incline DB Flye ss w/ DB Pullovers:
15@225/15@50/15@60, 12@275/15@50/15@60, 10@315/15@50/15@60

DB Incline Press ss w/ Flat DB Flyes ss w/ Power rack pullups:
15@60/15@40/15@BW x 3 sets - The power rack pullups are simply putting a BB in the power rack just high enought that my arms can barely reach it when I'm lying on the floor underneath it, you then simply pull yourself up to the bar while keeping you body completely straight. It's kind of the reverse motion of doing a bench press.

Leg Press machine - Calf Press Drops: 20@400/20@300/20@200/20@100, 12@400/15@300/20@200/20@100 x 2 sets - did a bit too much on the first set.

Standing Calf press: 20@300 x 3 sets

20 minutes on the reincumbant bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill at 4.0 mph, level 5 incline.

What a busy past few days!! Steve has been working tonnes lately so we have been having some later workouts. They are still really good workouts, but I am a little more tired than usual workouts. Yesterday I trained chest/calves. I had a really good cardio session!! I would still rate my workout about a 7.5 as I was a little tired. Hopefully today is a better workout:hams/tris!

I can't speak for ~DD~, but I think Red Acid is pretty good, I don't find that it has the strongest stim effect (ie jitters, etc) but I find it does give me a "warm" feeling so I can feel that it's doing something. Combine it with White Flood for a major stim effect!

So this morning we went for a little walk before work so that we could try to beat the heat a little bit. Yesterday it was damn hot here (as you can see in the title - my one and only Nelly reference, ever) it was around 46 degrees celsius when you factor in the humidity. Now working out in a gym that doesn't have AC or even an air exchanger is difficult at the best of times but when it's this hot it's torture (some of you southerners probably think that's not too bad, but for us up here it's crazy hot, and it's happening again today, 30 with the humidity already at 9am).

DB Stiff-legged Deadlifts: 10@60 x 4 sets - for warmup and stretch.

Single leg ham curl ss w/ Prone Ham Curls(2 leg): 10ea@45/10@115 x 3 sets

DB Skullcrusher ss w/ Bench Dips ss w/ Kickbacks: 12@40/20/12@20 x 3 sets

Tricep extension (drops): 10@180/10@150/10@100 x 3 sets

Reincumbant bike: 20 minutes, random setting, level 4

Now this might just have been the sweaty-est workout of my life, it was just crazy in the gym. Add to the that I decided to do some cardio in the sweltering heat and I felt totally drained and dehydrated after I was done (even though I was constantly drinking fluids). I'm glad that I took my GM pre-workout because I needed it for a little refresher before I started with the weights. It's going to be the same today, so I'm anticipating another sweaty workout, especially because it's deadlift day!!!

Yeah, the heat/humidity has been pretty much unbearable for the last few days, (I think it's hotter in our apartment than it is outside). Basically I just lazed around in the heat all weekend, it's amazing how much that can really sap your energy level. I had an average shoulder workout on Friday and an average back workout on Sunday, nothing to brag about with either of them. At least today it has finally cooled down a little. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with my current workout routine for the rest of the week or if I will be switching to an upper/lower routine. I guess I'll have to decide by the end of today.

SO for a little change I decided to try out an upper/lower routinefor the next couple weeks, after a couple weeks I should know whether it's for me or not. So I jumped right in with an Upper workout:

Bench Press: 2 warm up sets x 20 reps, 10@275, 12@265, 15@245
Incline Press: 1 warm up set x 20 reps, 10@225, 10@225 10@225
Tricep Pressdowns: 20@150, 15@180, 12@200
Standing DB Shoulder Press: 12@50, 10@50, 10@50
Barbell Curl ss w/ DB Curl: 10@115/10@30, 10@115/10@30, 10@115/10@30
Vgrip Pulldown: 25@180, 10@210, 10@210

I loved this first upper workout, I had such an upper body pump that I was actually able to retain it for a few hours afterward. Today will be the Lower workout, I'm interested to see if I can get the same type of workout going.

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 Scoop EL Green MAGnitude

During Workout:

Post-Workout supps:

Due to some unforseen issues (~DD~ going to the movie Hairspray) we moved yesterdays workout to today so this afternoon will be my first attempt at the "lower" portion or the upper/lower routine.

As well, yesterday after work I went to pick up my package that was sent by USPLabs. I "won" some free PSlin in a lottery, and they sent some POWERfull along with it. There was no agreement to log these products but I think I will anyway just to work on my logging, each log seems to get a bit better. The sample review for the Starchem products is still coming, I was just a little lazy last night.

Finally, back on f'n track!! Yesterday was my first "lower" body day, I was kinda experimenting with what I thought would be a good workout so bear with me this might change by next week.

Squats: warmups 2 sets of 20 reps (135,225) 10@315 x 3 sets
Leg Press ss w/ Leg Extensions: 20@400/15@150 x 3 sets
Hamstring Curl: 15@105, 13@105,12@105
Sled Calf Press ss w/ Donkey Calf Press: 20@400/20@BW

Wow, it really doesn't look like that much but I had an insane pump in my leg and was even getting "the shakes" (involuntary spasms). To burn out lactic acid so that I could actually walk today I followed the workout up with some biking, manual setting, level 3 for 20 minutes. I was happy with this workout because I could feel my legs working and am already pretty sore (always a good sign). Today will be another upper body workout, usually there would be a day off between the first two workouts and second two, but due to some unforseen circumstances had a couple unplanned days off. Well, at least we back at it hard again.

***Damn, even after a few weeks of using EL GreenMAG I still love the flavor, it's one of those things that you just don't get sick of. I really think it helped keep me hydrated during the last few days in the gym when it's been so humid that you don't even have to workout to get a good sweat on. Secondly, even though I've been regulating my caloric intake somewhat I haven't seen any drops in strength which is really what I'm looking for in a supplement. (something that helps me maintain while I cut weight/calories *OR* something that helps me increase strength/muscle when I'm not cutting)***

I wasn't very happy with the squats but my knees are struggling abit again, and I'm out of Glucosamie/chondroitin which seems to help with that, so I guess I can't be too mad. I think one of these days I'm going to try some cissus for my joints, who knows when though. As long as my strength stays where it is right now I'll be a happy camper.

This was a workout that I would actually call awesome! It gets an A+....I don't know what it was but it just felt unbelievable, none of the weights are that impressive by themselves but as a whole it gave me a workout that tested my limits (FYI I reduced my rest time between sets to about 10-15 seconds - so this workout was as much of a sprint as anything else). My pump was great and once again I was able to maintain it for a number of hours afterwards (especially in my arms). So this afternoon will be my second lower body day, I'm still pretty sore from my last lower body day so who knows how that will go, I just need to make sure that I get a decent rest and a good stretch/warmup when we go, as I'll be in the office all day again working OT....I always find it hard to get going if I go to the gym right after coming from a day of sitting at the computer in the office, I'll just do 5-10 minutes of biking to warmup and that should be more than good enough.

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
3 Red Acid - took 3 to gauge tolerance - did not notice more thermo/energy from 3 compared to 2 so I'll just keep it at 2.
1 Scoop EL Green MAGnitude

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
2 scoops Protein w/ water

***The only things that I've notice during this log so far, is that when I still had purple wraath and white flood my workouts felt better, maybe it's the whole placebo thing but WF and RA made awesome pre-workout supps when combined, and PW would keep me feeling top notch during my workout. The EL GreenMAG is still working great at keeping my strength and energy where it should be, but using all three for that short period of time was a great stack!***

Just about to leave the office and head to Costco to pick up some groceries followed by a trip to the gym for the lower body workout and probably a little cardio of some sort. I've noticed that my legs are pretty sore and stiff at the moment which sucks a bit but hopefully I can loosen them up with a warmup and some stretching because I want to do some deadlifts and some ATG front squats.

I'm having a tough time holding off on the PSlin and POWERfull at the moment, I'm one of those people that when I get something new I want to use it right now. However, I'm giving my EL Green MAGnitude it's time in the spotlight, and it's shining brightly!!! If I can swing/afford it I might even try to continue with another bottle of GM as my creatine product throughout my next log.

So we made to both Costco and to the gym after work and before they closed (apparently the gym closes at 6 on Saturday???). So I was able to get my lower body workout in however, I had to finish the whole workout in 25 minutes. It was a rush and I didn't get to do everything that I wanted to do but I made do.

Deadlifts ss w/ Front Squats: 20@135/10@135 x 3 sets - I would basically finish my 20th rep of DL's then do a power clean and set up and start front squts, It cut down on the time but I think that the combination and having no rest inbetween was a bit too much because I ended up straining my lower back a little.

Single Leg Ham Curl ss w/ DB Stiff legged DL's: 10@60/10@45's x 3 sets

Standing Calf Press: 20@300 x 3 sets - this machine is so easy that I barely consider this worth my time, but I wanted to get some calves in.

Single Legged Squat: 5 on each leg x 3 sets - this was done with standing with one foot on the bench while the other one dangles beside it, then balancing all the way down I attempt to tough the dangling foot down to the ground doing a single leg squat with the other leg then returning to the upright position.

Bench Step Ups: 20 reps total rotating legs x 3 sets - this was simply done with my own bodyweight providing the resistance.

The workout was rushed so it wasn't quite what I wanted it to be but it still went pretty good especially after I strained my back early into it, I was able to continue but I'm pretty sure the I'm going to be sore tonight.

Great workout both of you. But what is the protein pancake recipe?

Mine is:
3 eggs (2 yolks, 3 whites)
1 scoop optimum protein
1/4 cup oats

-mix in a bowl and simply pour into a heated pan, cook both sides, dash a little bit of cinnamon on there, and then use you choice of toppings or use none at all. In the past we've used;

- Fresh fruit or berries
- different flavors of yogurt
- natty PB, natty Almond Butter
- Diabetic (no sugar added) syrup

Makes a great post workout meal or even a pre-workout meal, hell, it makes a good meal at any time of the day.

They are so good!!! I do mine differently than Steve's. I put 3 egg whites w/ one yolk, 1/4 cup oats, 1tsp flax seed. You mix it all together and pour it into a frying pan and let it cook like a pancake. I like to put almond butter w/ a little no sugar syrup on it. Steve's recipe is the same, however, he adds a scoop of chocolate protein powder into it. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The gym closed early again due to the long weeked so again we were a little pressed for time as I had put in another 8 hour shift of OT (doing it again today - that's 50 hours in the last 3 weeks). I was still able to get just over 30 minutes in so that wasn't too bad.

15 minutes manual setting, level 4 on the reincumbant bike,
17 minutes level 5 incline @ 4.0 mph on the treadmill.

The cardio actually flew by because I was reading a copy of last month's Muscular Development magazine. I like that magazine mostly because of the little science/research articles that they have every month. (I guess FitnessRX usually has something similar - it's made by the same publisher so I guess they recycle), other than MD I would usually be ready MuscleMag International, I used to have a subscription to this one as they are pretty much the only mag that covers anything Canadian (a la Garry Bartlett). I find that cardio is so much easier if I have something like these to read as the mags just seem to motivate me. Anyway, the gym is open until 10pm tonight so we won't be rushed at all, today is the start of the second upper/lower week, with a little extra time on my side I should have no problem getting the whole workout in with a little cardio as well.

As Steve said the gym is a little more tolerable now that it has cooled off some. I had a great back workout yesterday doing a huge giant set and finishing off with some bent over rows. My back muscles were buring by the time I was done! I finsihed off with some skipping. Overall, great workout!!!

pre-workout:
Green Mag
( I have decided to go off the red Acid and Sesa Glow for a couple of weeks as I am getting my wisdom teeth taken out in a couple of weeks and I am getting put under. B/c I have a slight heart murmur and Raynaud's I would just feel more comfortable being off supplements.)

He just doesn't get the respect he should, he has some of the best lines in the business, if he could just thicken out his legs a little to give that illusion of a better "X" frame he would be a threat to many.

Today's workout was the start of my second week of my upper/lower routine, I made one change - switching Incline Press for DB Flyes - to better balance my exercises over the week, all-in-all the workout went pretty awesome, I did exactly what I wanted to do and the gym was dead enough that I could use all the weights I needed.

Bench Press: 2 warmup sets/20 reps (135, 225) 10@275, 10@295 10@315

DB Flyes: 15@45, 10@59, 10@60

Tricep Pressdowns: 20@180, 12@200, 10@220

Standing DB Shoulder Press: 10@50, 10@60 x 2 sets

Barbell Curl ss w/ Dumbell Alternating Curl: 10@95/10ea@30

V-Grip Pulldowns: 10@180, 10@210, 10@240

20 minutes on the treadmill, level 5 incline, 4.2 mph

I don't know what happened but that little bit of cardio really burned, I was sweating like crazy. The workout gets a solid A and I think that it was a good start for the week. This is big for me because seeing that the mental aspect is huge in bodybuilding/weightlifting I think that if you can get into a good groove then things will flow the way you want them to, it's during these times that I truely believe we make are best gains. Hopefully, this week will continue that way and will set the stage for the near future.

As the title says I was feeling "it" again for lower body yesterday. I wasn't putting crazy weights up or anything but I was feeling great and actually feeling/concentrating on the muscle contraction.

Squats: warmups 20 reps ea (BW, 135, 225) 10@315 x 3 sets

Leg Press Machine ss w/ Leg Extensions: 20@400/15@160 x 3 sets

Single Leg Hamstring Curls: 12@45ez x 3 sets

Sled Calf Press ss w/ Donkey Press: 10@400/20@BW - the sled presses were done for a 5 second count, 1 up, hold for 3, 2 down, usually I would do 20+ calf presses on this machine but doing these "holds" killed my calves so I was limited to doing only 10.

That was all it took to completely destroy my legs, I actually could barely walk out of the gym after this workout (the volume is nothing that special but, again, I limited rest time to about 15-20 seconds between sets).

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 Scoop EL Green MAGnitude - starting to run scary low on the GM...

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:

Pish! 315 lbs on squats! I will be catching up with you, Steve! You just watch. (Beware though, it might be a year or two :p)

That's 315lbs for 10 reps for 3 sets (that's what I call "taking it easy on my knee"), but yeah it won't be long and you'll be giving me tips on how to increase my weight in both squats and deadlifts. I'm going to blame it on you being so much closer to the ground than I....LOL!!

Well yesterday was a scheduled day off, and I needed it. By the time I was done at work I was so wiped out that I had no interest in doing anything but sleeping. (Not so much tired from work as just overall physically and mentally tired - 2 days off out of 24, and busting it in the gym adds up) But today I'm feeling pretty awesome and can't wait to get into the gym and tear up the upper body workout again!!

Yesterday's supplementation.

With Breakfast:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid

1st snack:
1 Fish Oil
Protein Shake

Lunch:
1 Sesaglow
1 Vit C
1 Calcium w/vit D

2nd Snack:
1 Fish Oil
Protein Shake

After Work/Pre-Supper:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 scoop GreenMag

So I noticed that my GreenMAG was running low yesterday, to say the least I was surprised, however then I remembered that ~DD~ and I both are using it religiously so, it's almost dead-on because we're around the 40 day mark of using the product. Today I noticed that our Red Acid and Sesaglow are also running low (proabably a couple weeks worth of each left) so unfortunately this log will be coming to a close pretty soon. We'll both be doing a final review post but lets not even talk about that for at least a week or two because I'm enjoying the GM just too damn much right now....

Another awesome workout was had, like I said previously, I'm in a zone this week and it's the perfect place to be. It was upper body day again and having the rest day yesterday really set me up for a deadly workout, I was ready to hit it and hit it hard! Even after a long day at work, of course I did have a short nap between work and the gym, but after the nap and a pre-workout protein pancake, I was ready to go.

Widegrip Pulldowns(behind the head): warmups - 2 sets of 20 (180,200) 12@210, 10@240 to the front, 10@210 BTH, 10@240 to the front - rotated front to back just for fun.

Barbell Rows: 10@205, 10@225, 10@255, 10@275 - the last set was a bit sloppy but it felt good to just toss some weight around.

Cable Curls ss w/ Crossbody Hammer Curls: 20@120/10ea@30's

Incline Press: 10@205, 10@225, 10@255 - these felt so weird after doing biceps first, it's was an odd feeling - not bad, just odd.

Lateral DB Raise: 12@40, 12@45, 10@50 - probably a little more swing on the last set than I should have but see above regarding "tossing weights".

DB Skullcrushers ss w/ Upright Dips: 15@45/10@BW - haven't done upright dips in awhile, but I felt like they would be good to add to an upper body workout.

By this time we were a bit rushed as we still wanted to get to the grocery store before it closed so for cardio I just went on the treadmill for 20 minutes (my "plan" calls for 30) I was on a 5 incline at 4.0 mph (reading MD again).

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 Scoop EL Green MAG

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
Protein Shake
1/2 Whole Wheat bagle w/almond butter - for anyone who hasn't tried almond butter, try it! It is awesome!!

Today's workout gets an A+ or a 10 out of 10. I tossed around some heavy weight, got enough sets and reps to really work the muscle and even got a good sweat going during my cardio, I'm totally pumped about it. I want to make tomorrow's workout just as good, I actually think I'm going to go do some cardio in the morning before work, outside, our place is basically built on the side of a huge hill so going out walking around here is a major cardio event.

A big thanks goes out to 5-6 for hooking me up with some supps to go along with my next log, I'm looking forward to it, but I'm hating the fact that my GreenMAG log is going to be ending....I needs to get me some GreenMAG running straight from the tap here!!!

They're great for the Brachialis and Brachioradialis (some more anatomy talk for ya), I figure to develop a top level rear double biceps, they're muscles that need to be worked. Too often missed by novice lifters....I've actually read that developing the Brachialis can help increase the peak of your bicep somewhat, not sure that I believe that but it can't hurt.

So we took yesterday as another day off. No real reason behind it other than I had to work late again and we were a little too tired to go to the gym. I hate going when I'm not "all there" it just sets me up for a bad workout and I didn't want to ruin how this week has been going. Instead we'll go today after I get off from working OT again, man I building up some crazy amounts of OT, I have 26.25 hours OT on my next cheque and after this weekend I'll have 40 hours OT on the cheque following that. Too bad the money is already spent (paying off credit cards and our vacation) but at least we'll be back to even. Overtime FTW!!!

As far as my cutting down to 220 is going , it's a slow and steady pace. I didn't really lose much this week but both me and ~DD~ have noticed my waist tightening up/shrinking, so even though I might not have lost much actually weight this week at least the mirror is showing improvement which is the real goal. As long as I keep it going like I have I think that I will be able to eventually reach my goal. I even created an Excel spreadsheet to track my weight loss, BF%, etc from week to week. So at least I'm back in the right mindset to get this completed.

The title says it all again, and yesterday's rest was definitely worth it. Today's workout was awesome, all the way through to the cardio at the end. It was high intensity, I can actually "feel" the muscle fibers that were worked and I was able to keep the pace up throughout.

Deadlifts: 20@135, 10@225, 10@315, 5@365, 5@415 - gym was dead so I could use every last weight if I wanted and I was damn close.

Smith Machine Front Squats: 10@135, 10@165, 10@185 - these were a whole lot harder than last time due to going heavier on deads, but I went as heavy as I could while maintaining correct form, my "teardrops" are crying.

Lying Hamstring Curls ss w/ Stiff-legged Deadlifts: 10@135/12@135, 11@125/11@185, 12@115/10@205 - went heavier on the stiffs to get a good stretch.

Upright Calf Press ss w/ Sled Calf Press: 20@300/20@400 x 3 sets - both machines were maxed out and they're not the type that I can add any extra weight on so I'm going to start experimenting more with rep speeds and unilateral training.

Cardio: 20 mins on the reincumbant bike, hill setting, level 4 - It was just warm enough in the gym that I sweated like a fat kid running up stairs but I love when cardio is like that, I feel like my body is totally cleansed afterwards.

Preworkout supps:
1 Sesaglow
2 Red Acid
1 Scoop EL Green MAG

During Workout:
Water

Post-Workout supps:
Chicken Stir-fry - chicken breast, vegetables and a little teriyaki sauce - sauteed to perfection. Mmmmmm.....I'm drooling a little bit just thinking about it again. I might have to go finish the leftovers before the night is over.

Damn, I had written a huge post last night but since the bb.com servers have been so crappy lately apparently it didn't make it through (and they kicked me off for the evening as well). Anyway, yesterday was simply a cardio day for me while ~DD~ did her workout. I did 25 min on the reincumbant bike, hill setting, level 4 and 20 min on the treadmill, level 5 incline at 4.0 MPH. The gym was pretty humid again so I was sweating a little bit ridiculously, I.E. small pools were developing on the floor, yup I am "that" guy sometimes. All in all the cardio felt pretty awesome, for me a long cardio session just feels like it's cleansing your body of toxins so it's a great feeling.

Well, all that being said today will be my last serving of Green MAGnitude!! Although I'm excited to start planning the next phase/log in my quest for a shredded 220, I'm sad to see this log ending. It's ending at a good time though as on Wednesday, we're getting out of town for a couple days. So I should have my final thoughts together by the time I get home, and maybe even have them posted by the weekend. I can't wait to get into the gym and have a massive upper body day for my last serving of GM (going make use of it one last time). That post will come tonight.

My next phase/log will be including the following (all sitting on my shelf already - not including protein, multi's and fish oil):
USPLabs PSlin
USPLabs PowerFULL
Gaspari Thyrotabs
Controlled Labs Red Acid (while supply lasts)
Controlled Labs Sesaglow (while supply lasts)
Biotest HotRox (while supply lasts - after I finish RED ACID & SESAGLOW)
Allmax Krush 4

Not sure how I'm going to use all this yet, I'm open to any suggestions.

Yesterday was my last serving of Green MAG, I'm a little dissapointed to be done but I'm happy I got one last great workout out of it. It was my upper body day and I wanted to go out with a bang so I decided to blast it a little.

Bench Press: 20@135, 10@225, 10@275, 10@315, 8@355

Bench DB Flyes: 12@50/s, 12@50'2, 10@50/s

BB Curl ss w/ DB Curl: 10@115/10ea@40's x 3 sets

Shoulder Press Machine: 15@120, 15@140, 12@160

Tricep Pressdowns ss w/ DB Kickbacks: 20@180/10@20's, 20@200/10@20's, 20@220/10@20's

VGrip Pulldowns: 20@180, 12@210, 10@240

Cardio was 20 min on the treadmill, level 5 incline at 4.0 MPH.

The workout was pretty awesome, another A+, however I noticed that on Vgrips I was feeling it more on my left side (usually it's the opposite) so I think that I need to reduce that weight somewhat and concentrate on them a bit more. Once again, the GM was great tasting and refreshing. I'll be posting my final review probably this weekend (provided I have time).

SO it'l about time for my final thoughts/review on this product...... without any further ado.........

Controlled Labs has a real winner here. During a time when companies are mass producing "all-in-ones" that never really deliver it is nice and refreshing to see a company put out a simple product that just performs as it should.

Mixability: 9/10
taste: 10/10
Performance: 10/10
Recovery: 10/10

Overall: 9.75/10

Electric Lemonade Green MAGnitude (IMO) is one of the best creatine products (if not THE BEST) that I have ever tried. GM is easily mixable in a shaker cup with water, a couple times I did experience some powder settling at the bottom of the bottle but it was very easily rememdied by adding a little more water which wiped out the issue completely, I was even able to completely dissolve GM in a small glass w/ water and just mixing it with a spoon, which is usually pretty rare. The product is possibly the best tasting supplement I have ever tasted. It' a refreshing product that would be hard to get tired of, I was actually looking forward to my GM each day, even on my off days. I believe that EL GM even tastes better than the original Apple flavor. As for performance, I took GM mostly pre-workout, I found that on days that I took it post, or didn't take it at all I was feeling sluggish and a little dehydrated (possibly due to high heat). However, when taking GM pre-workout I always had the energy to do my sets and was able to maintain hydration levels (no change in water consumption, and there were many days that the heat and humidity were just as high.) Whether or not this was just "placebo effect" or not is a non-issue because I "felt" (subjective) better when taking the product than when I didn't take the product, as for numbers I was able to maintain or improve my strength levels in all my lifts even while dropping close to 15 pounds. This was one of the most important issues when taking this creatine, to be able to lift just as hard and heavy while still losing weight. I have always seen a directly correlation between my weight and my lifts, when one goes up so does the other and vice versa, so when I can reverse this relationship, ie. weight loss = strength increase, it makes the product responsible for the change valuable to me (IMO). Improved recovery was also noted during this log, there was less soreness and less random cramping (I am assuming this is a result of the improved hydration), for example, previous to taking GM it would take me 3-4 days to recover from legs, while on GM it would only take 2-3 days. 1 day may not sound like that much but it makes a big difference, especially if you are doing legs twice a week. Finally, the price per serving for Green MAGnitude is outstanding, it's rare to see a product priced that low for that many servings, just another top notch aspect of this product.

In closing I just want to reiterate that (IMHO) this product is outstanding!!! I will definitely be purchasing this product again, and that is the true sign of the quality of the supplement, if you get repeat consumers. A big thank you goes out to Controlled Labs and to Pu12en12g for allowing us to test and log this new flavor. We hope to be able to work with you again in the future. As well thanks to all those who stopped by during this log as you are what makes a log what it is, it was greatly appreciated!
