Im about to get a dip station for home use. I was looking at bodysolid ones. Do those who have one use just the dip station or do you also use the vertical knee and chin/pull up bar. The Dip station on its own iis cheaper, but the vkr might be better value for money. The links are below.

I have a pullup and dip station. Do you have the room in your house for it? And to do a pull up with your head over the bar?
Until I move into my new house, I've been doing modified pullups by turning my head to the side (which is crap, but..)
Try one out first (if you can) to make sure that the thing doesn't rock all over the place under your weight.

Try to find the "NEW" bodysolid VKR Chin Dip.
It now has the pullup bar behind the VKR.
It's much more solid and is extremely well built for the money.

It looks to be almost identical to the HOIST one and $200 less.
I have it in my bedroom and hang from the chin bar to do crunches with gravity boots and it will not tip even with me swinging back and forth at 225lbs.
I have the Bodysolid dip station. It Rocks!!. I also bought the dipping belt.

I foolishly bought an "Extreme-X" dip and chin station with a back board for doing leg raises. First day I used it the poorly designed backboard cracked in half, because there was virtually no support behind it. I was able to recoup my unit by making a couple metal support strips and screwing them in, connecting the bottom of the pad with the tip of the cross bar. Man, you can't be too careful when you buy this stuff!!!
I got it at "Play it Again Sports".
If I had tried it at the store and in broke, I wonder if they would have blamed me?

if you have a squat rack with two rods on each side have a look a Boris Bars and http://fwww.fractionalplates.com/
enables you to vary the width plus you can use them for chins. A neat idea.
