Is is possible to lose weight and still build muscle...and I don't mean a little muscle. I mean a lot of muscle. I am 5' 2.5". In October I weighed 248 and now after weight lifting and exercise I am 166. I still need to lose about 35-40 lbs but I am ready to hit the weights hard. Will I keep losing fat while I build muscle? I am eating 5-6 small meals a day and I am working out 4 days a week and still doing my cardio work out.

What do you think?

What would be ideal would be to come down those 35-40lbs and drop the bodyfat (which is more important). Then you can see what you have to work with. It is possible to maintain as much muscle mass as possibe while you come down, but the environment will not be suitable to add the kind of muscle it sounded like you wanted to add while dropping the weight(unless you decide to use). Building muscle is a completly different way of lifting, doing cardio and eating than it is for dropping bodyfat. The best thing to do is choose what you want to do and do it.

Thanks. I kind of figured that, but a girl can hope. I will work on it. I am sooooo ready though. :-)
