wearing a lot of makeup is UNattractive! i dont know why girls think they gotta wear so much makeup. it's a turnoff

OK, we hear you and your point is taken. But, for every opinion, there is an equal and opposite opinion. Just sayin.

Plus, everyone's definition of "a lot" may differ.....

Titania

Well, to be perfectly honest, I hardly ever wear any makeup, even in my photoshoots on my site.
About the only time I wear any is if I am going somewhere like a club or formal occasion and even then, it is usually just mascara, minimal eye shadow and lippy and that's it.

makeup is there to accentuate/emphasize a lady's natural beauty. whereas too much makeup just camouflages it, and that’s unattractive.

I think some example pics are in order in this thread......

lol, @ men telling us how to look ;)

heavy makeup can be unattractive if it's garish and does not complement a person's looks. If you know what you're doing you can pull off heavy makeup.

it all depends on the person and their own preferences

BAD HEAVY MAKE-UP

GOOD HEAVY MAKE-UP (particularly because it's the right colouring for her)

Might be good or bad, perhaps others could decide?

a thread like this DOES require photos for compare-n-contrast reasons ;)

But i must say that i'm not going to throw out my makeup....
And it isn't going to stop me from doing my MAC cosmetics 'mini-shopping' spree next month either :-}

I don't think there's a such thing as too much make up, it's whatever makes the individual feel comfortable and if they can rock it more power to them. Yes some people do wear too much caked on and it does them no justice in my own opinion but what can ya do.

I just bought me a super awesome black lace push up bra yesterday at VS! To think, I had em reduced just to wear padding to make 'em look bigger! lol

MAC, love it. Unfortunately, I've turned into a Bare Minerals addict. Much easier to apply it on the train now that I'm in Chicago than it was driving the car in Milwaukee!

Actually, quite easily....VERY easily when you know the dangers of this crap and discover the truth about the poisons and cancerous chemicals in them

I have been trying to tell people this for ages and they just don't want to hear it. Finally, there is a decent website with a huge database of these chemicals that are in almost EVERY product on supermarket shelves and department stores.......and we wonder why cancer and other ailments are at an alltime epidemic!!!!

Get wise....do some research! It will possibly save your life!!!

Funnily enough, occasional make-up is one oif the few chemicals I still use. I've given up commercial hair products and even mix my own creams, butters etc. with food grade ingredients.

If I mastered body lotion and tinited face cream some day, I'd be good to go! ;)

they don't have any info on BareMinerals or Monave Mineral Make Up though. i guess they haven't gotten to those? I've used Monave before and liked it - i found that Bare Minerals ISN'T made completely of bare minerals but with some of the same manufactured ingredients that regular cosmetics have.

You can type the ingredients into the search on that site and it will tell you if they are safe or not. Some of them are a PITA to spell though!!!

Yeah. A very close friend of mine sent me the link. I stopped using the tanning accelerator I thought was safe after checking its ingredients there

I have replaced everything from soaps, moisturisers. makeup and shampoo / conditioner to dish washing detergent and cleaning products now too.
Don't be fooled by the supposedly 'natural' products either. Check everything.

Ha ha I don't look like this every day!!!

<-----------

And yes, the caked on 'Polyfilla' look with clogged eyelashes is not good!!!!

But are you mistaking 'loads' of make up for bright make up?

And the girls that are caking it on are probably doing so because their skin isn't great and they're trying to look like models in magazines, not realising they are photoshopped to hell and the make up is giving them more spots......

I'm also a gal who doesn't wear lots of it at all...I can't even apply eyeliner to the top of my lids, LOL. But, especially that time of the month, some of us need a little help in the complexion department. And in some situations the bright stuff works quite nicely.

BUT if all you men would quite fantasizing and glorifying these glammed up porn stars, I think young women wouldn't place so much value on looking like one. Another double standard I've noticed.

Choice..........it's something we all have in life. Women can choose to wear lots of make-up or not. Men can choose to be interested in women who wear alot of make-up or don't. There is always going to be females who wear alot of make-up and those that choose not to.

So to me, there really is no issue. A man can just pick a girl that suits him. bttrthnb4- From your avatar, that is a great model pic of a female face with no make-up. It's nice when a female can pull that off -30-

Just on the whole makeup thing, I think guys get a little confused and think we actually wear makeup for them????

We wear makeup because we like it, we like the way we look with it on and although we do want male attention it is not guys that will ever make us truely happy with who we are and what we look like.

Guys will never notice the diff between black and nearly black mascara or liquid vs pencil eyeliner but we do!!

Anything I wear I wear because I like it and it makes me feel good, I love having the confidence to go out without any makeup at all and the ability to glam myself up when I want.

I love their cheek stain, never have to retouch up blush during the day its perfect, and I use the High Beam which gives you a glow all day. Not really into the shadows though.

I've spent about $150 with that seller. But I've gotten about 15 tops! That's downright reasonable. My only complaint is that I wish they would sell more blue in my size. I suppose this means customers have to start returning more blue.

I do, but most of the time I hang around in some kind of top that's supportive but not necessarily a bra. I work from home 4 days a week, so I spend a lot of my time wearing workout clothes. Plus, I have fakies so they're less prone to the effects of gravity.

Probably should wear one more, though. No sense spending the money if the girls go south through my own laziness.

I have that bra! I only use the small length piece in the front because the longer peice (as shown) doesn't fit my bust well at all. The cups seem to be a bit small too...my boobs fall out sometimes (removing the pad inserts helps). The plastic straps are a bit hard to adjust because they stick together sometimes, but it's doable. I would have prefered that the clear straps were just normal straps...i hate it when they stick to my skin. Overall it's a nice cleavage bra and it's comfortable.

I honestly have never had the patience to do the make up thing, so I only wear lipstick. However, I plan to change that in the near future. Still, it won't be a lot of make up, just enough to accentuate the positive. In terms of heavy make-up being unattractive, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it's really a preference when it comes to onlookers, and a personal decision for each woman. I have always wondered about the effects of heavy make-up on the skin though.
