This isn't necessarily an injury, but I figured I'd ask for opinions and ideas on how to fix it. I have on most of my muscle groups a larger left side than right side. Left arm, left chest, left quad/leg. They are noticable and I can't pinpoint any reason for the inbalance. I do my share of compound and isolation movements for each muscle group. I use barbell as well as dumbbells. I concentrate on my mind-muscle connection. I am in the midst of a cut, so it might be more prevalent now that the body fat is leaving.

I am looking for a solution more than why it happened. SOmething to change up. I was thinking of doing isolated reps with just my right side to concentrate on it and give it more load, but why the lag? I read the interview with Chad Nicholls on why Ronnie's lat was lagging during the Olympia. He said the plan was to use a more of a physiological angle to lifting, using more Mind-muscle and different exercises. I'd love to know if its working and exactly what he was doing.

So this is my question to everyone: Why the lagging side and what angle should I take to rectify the problem?

I have asymmetrical muscle groups too - just a little more screwed up. My right arm is much bigger than my left, but my right chest is smaller than my left. I guess its probably genetic?

Same problem except it's my left side that's smaller. I had an inguinal hernia on the left side for a while which may have caused me to subconsciously "ease up" on that side, but beyond that I have no idea what causes it. It's kind of frustrating that my left arm in particular looks basically untrained. I'm still pretty new to bbing though so I'm not that worried. Would be interested in any solutions though.

i would recommend never using barbells, to start.

always use machines that have you use 2 hands independently...etc
