I am from Canada and have been competing for two years. I was just wondering from the guys who compete in the US, how many guys do you compete against in a local amateur comp?

in all. But it was a natural competition so there weren't as many competitors. Unfortunately they have yet to gain alot of popularity. Thanx for the props. BTW remember some of those were crossover athletes.

I compete in the NPC amateur heavyweight division and there's usually anywhere from 7-15 in your weight class you compete against.

It just depends on the organization you're competing in and the location. Here in So Cal, in the NPC, it's not uncommon for there to be 25-30 competitors in one weight class. Especially in the middleweights and light-heavys, it tapers off somewhat for the other classes.
