Alright. Decided to do Keto and I started today. I'm kind of nervous about it. Maybe it's because for the past 5 months I've been really food consensus, making sure I eat balanced meals and now I feel like I'm throwing that all out the window and eating loads of the foods I craved (cheese/ranch). But after reading article after article and post after post...(plus one fun shopping trip) I think I'm ready.

Here?s today?s menu. I failed to put in the Sweet Tarts that will be taken with the PWO shake. I will be taking 1 serving which is 12 grams. (First two ingredients are dextrose and maltodextrin ? I read eating Smarties and/or Sweet Tarts are a good source for this?is this true?) If not I can order some dextrose.

I know I could use more veggies and they will be added tomorrow.

I am also supplementing with Opti Women?s multi and will pick up some Metamucil.

I?ve also have been taking Lipo 6 for the last 5 weeks and will continue with this.

Critiques are welcome!

Hey, saw this log right after I started mine.

When is your wedding?

I have mine in Spetember of 2008 and so I am also using keto to get in shape for the big day.

Anyway, I will be checking your progress.

Best of luck!

I don't know much about women's diets, so accept my questions/input as ignorance if it comes off wrong. Why are you using pepperoni? Even though it's a keto diet, you should be eating as much unprocessed food as possible.

Also, you probably already know this, but if you're getting tired around 10 pm and don't want always feel like making food (I typically don't), bump your last meal up to 9:30 or to within an hour of that single scoop of whey. It only takes about 45 minutes for your body to fully process whey and it won't hurt to have that meal pushed up a bit. Especially, since you're lifting.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck w/your diet. It gets easier as time goes on.

I second removal of the pepperoni. Most have nitrites in them too.

It is delicious though...

oh man...it is so delicious! i'll bump it out as soon as we run out.

i didn't really think about the whole being processed thing.

i'm still a bit in shock that eating my forbidden full fat ranch and cheese is now ok. (it's kind of a mental game with me...it feels so wrong)

thanks for the advice!

It does feel wrong, but it tastes so good. And you will get over that feeling after you do it for a while.

I like to eat leftover meat from dinner during my snacks. Intentionally cook too much at night and then have some cold meat with cheese the next day. Helps to fill in the pepperoni gap.

One more thing, your diet doesn't look too bad on this front, but one thing to watch is sodium intake. It can get incredibly high on keto if you eat a lot of cheese, deli meat, processed meat, etc. Just keep an eye on it. You can cut down by not adding salt to anything, using no-salt added natty PB, cut out the deli meats and get fresh meat or go low-sodium if you need deli meat and obviously get unsalted nuts and unsalted butter.

Cheers!

first carb up went good. my belly hurt a bit but that was a given (sensitive stomach).

i ate a few pieces of fruit before my depletion workout. great workout...felt a bit worn out after. then i ate clean carbs for about 26 hours. i was able to eat about 300g of carbs while keeping my fats pretty low.

i'm pumped up about week no. 2 because i know what's going on and i'll be able to improve from last week.

here's todays food intake:
Total Cals:
1783
Protein: 163 (35%)
Carbs: 24 (5%)
Fats: 126 (60%)
