Thanx man

Mmmm I was 150lbs yesterday morning...up to 152 today :)

Oh yeah, it snowed insanely. Obviously no sprint workouts now :(

Pull:

Deadlift(home): 135x5/225x3/315x1/ 3x365x3
*no belt first set. back was a bit tighter today probably from way I slept. decided to play it safe and belt up last 2. i want to train my deadlift at home, because obviously its different than at the gym, and this could be a useful variation

Reverse Hypers: 4x25@ BW superset pullups 5 reps btwn sets

comments: im going to add 10lbs a week, and every 4th week just do something easy. I figure this could be a nice way to strength train. of course, there is a chance that this wont work too well...

heh, for bench just once a week
P.S: That straight leg floor press was pretty much a 10lb PR, and was part of today's workout. Just felt like doing it then

So I concluded today's workout with this:

Wide Grip Pullups: 70x3 / 2x60x3
Overhead dumbell extension: 40x8/65x8/85x5

Kinda hard to do the overhead extension with olympic dumbells...since theyre longer and poke into me at the bottom.

ooooo, I was supposed to do some plyos...oops. ill just do some now, 3x5 for depth pushups
------------------------------------------

So today's workout:

2/22/06
Upper

MG Floor Press(straight legs): 235x2 + 235x1 (bent legs) *~10lb pr!
CG Floor Press: 235x2 (1.5min after previous set..tired obv)
Wide Grip Pullups: 70x3 / 2x60x3 *def a PR..but prob cuz i never tried on these
Overhead dumbell extension: 40x8/65x8/85x5 *new exercise, interesting
Depth Pushups(feet elevated): 3x5

Its amazing how you pull and bench the weights you do but when it comes to repping weights, its not that you cant hit them for a decent amount you just never do haha. Its been how long since you pulled 490 and you just now decided to try 405x3? haha. Awsome **** though, imo opinoin that style prolongs the gains.

AJ010
02-28-2006, 12:09 PM
Thanks every1

Fullback- haha I know what ya mean. I actually did 3x3 with 405 during August, but that was at the gym and belted. I just dont like repping much what can I say :D

I'd rather go easier and do less weight, like hit 75% or 80% or something like 225 for bench for example for 3 reps, rather than hit it 8 times or more, ya know what I mean?

AJ010
02-28-2006, 01:45 PM
Did some MG Floor Presses today. Worked up to 245x1.5 I'm thinking I've just about milked these for all theyre worth. I can probably max 255 or 260 or whatever.

AJ010
02-28-2006, 01:54 PM
Oh man my triceps got blasted from the 3 rep attempts at 245 for Floor press (got 1st obviously as said before, then right after missed 2nd rep, and 30 sec later tried another time and failed. My lockout on militaries is doing horrible haha, so im just doing paused militaries standing with some light weight lol

im probably going to want to do something tomorrow, so ill just hit up some easy overhead extensions and recover the triceps. maybe hit up some easy pullups, but probably not

also, im not fully sure yet, but I'm thinking of working on board presses for a bit to lengthen the range of motion that ive been doing and also finally get back to using leg drive. i wonder if the difference isnt that great

AJ010
03-02-2006, 12:13 PM

I was probably above parallel by a little bit on the 35lb set. That was toughhhh. Gotta stretch tonight

P.S: I want to hold myself out parallel to the ground just by holding on to a pole. That would be insaneeee

Uhh yeah

I've been getting therapy and stuff. I've also been doing my own type of training.

The hamstring feels better than it did before therapy..but its really just got a problem with the way it functions. In straight leg pushdown motions even if done with ever so slight pressure, a lot of the hamstring contracts...as opposed to barely noticeable contraction with the left. Infact, part of the hamstring is contracting when it really shouldnt be so much. I am afraid that will always put me at a greater risk of re-injury unfortunately. Not sure. Other than that, my vertical jump is better than ever...

I dumbell overhead pressed 90x5 right hand, and 90x3 left...but pretty much no leg drive with right, but some on left. I also push pressed 120lbs..just with my right arm. (20lb PR)

I've been hitting my calves and front-shin-muscle, in hopes of healing my shins.

I've also just been doing light ankle resistance stuff with an aerobic type of band/tube(2 tubes in the unit), but the ankle is probably the best its going to be, and it doesnt affect anything anymore. Its just slightly noticeable for me.

Basically, my upper body is stronger in overhead pressing, my lower body is more explosive in jumping, and im just in pain.

That's my story, and im sticking to it. Thanks and have a good day.

physio on it yet? Get it done right away! You could always make the most of it i guess and really up the upper body work while your still recovering! Is it improving at all with time or not?

All the best for recovery my man.

Pro
06-22-2006, 12:26 PM
Damn man that legs still injured I haven't talked to you for like a year and you were injured back then.

You just have to change your focuses and work around it. Don't do squats or deadlifts because you can aggravate it.

What you should do is leg driveless bench presses where you have your legs actually up on the bench (it works more stabilizers too because you have to balance the weight more). You should also do bent over rows, but bending over might aggravate your injury so settling with lat pulldowns or chest supported rows might be the way to go and of course you can try to get your curl up again. Upper body is important remember Ben Johnson benched 405.

Good luck man, I don't want to see you end up not lifting in some peak years of your life.

AJ010
06-23-2006, 09:34 AM
Ehh...it seemed to be recovering. I had physio...not much improvement. It was improving, but now its just worse since trying to train again. Damn this.

Pro- thanks a lot man. I'll probably just end up benching or something then. =/ Yeah ben johnson was the ****

Updates...because it's been a while:

My bench is an unofficial 300+ now..I did 290 a few weeks ago.
Weighted dips are at +165..meaning double bodyweight
Powercleaned 225 easy with my home weights..meaning capable of around 245+ at the gym
Powersnatched 175 at home..so probably able to do 190+ at the gym.
Almost deadlifted 455 with no belt or chalk..on a bad day after maxing bench and that sucked too..so I can probably deadlift 500+ w/ belt+chalk on good day
I may have a solution for the shin splints. I found a good track to run on, I have new running shoes which I think are the ones, and I have a good plan. If all goes right, I'll work my way back into a full workout plan again
I'm training upper body for now..sort of half-assing it mentally, but the plan is to get my bench up to 315 by the end of the summer..and 350 by whenever.

Bodyweight is 162 last time I weighed myself.

This post is just to let you guys know I'm still alive, and I didnt whither away. I'm not much stronger, but you guys can understand that my injuries really demotivated me greatly from training.

Also, I just graduated highschool, and im really going through an emotional time now. I'm just trying to cope with everything and survive.

It's your choice to reply. I doubt any of the people that used to support me still post here anymore, except a select few.
