View Full Version : Misc. Lingo? Can someone enlighten me please?

I was never active in the misc. section of bb.com and I'm glad to see one here in the female section. However, I noticed some things in this section that I've never seen before so I am hoping that someone can help me understand a couple of things done here.

(No Homo) What's up with this term? If a guy compliments another guy he has to justify himself and his sexual preference which was unrelated to the compliment by typing (No Homo)? Did I get that right?

And does this No Homo thing applies to only men? Those two words have me totally stumped.

Misspelled words? I'm the queen of spell check but I guess it's not applicable in the misc section. So my question is.........Are purposely misspelled words encouraged in the misc section? What is the purpose of this? Sometimes I feel like I need a translator in order to read some of these posts. LOL!

Now that we have a misc section I want to get a better understanding of the slang, terms and customs of Misc. Lingo. I'm not going to use it but at least I will be informed. So with that being said please help me understand this misc. lingo so I can stop thinking some of you folks are straight bat crazy. ;)

no homo is used for saying somthing that may sound homo.

"That dude has nice pec development"

(no homo)

cuz there are ***s who will say crap if you dont addthe no homo...mostly for dudes unless a chick is like "hot ass"

Then again we encourage the ladies to talk like that.

Teh is the really the only common misspelled word...but most uf us cant type worth ****.

Edit: are you really 6"2?

Hugh Jazz

You can the say most homo thing you want and if it's followed by (no homo) you're completely straight.
Could go for teh wimmens too (the women)

Yes, I know it doesn't look like I'm that tall but when people see me in person they are always surprised even though I tell them over and over that I'm 6'2" before we meet. I guess many people never seen what 6'2" looks like on a woman until they meet me in person.

Yup! I have an inseam of 37 or 38.

I think that "no homo" thing is a double standard. Now that you guys explained it to me I have a better understanding of it of this "No Homo" thing. But is it really fair for women to compliment each other without saying "No Homo" while the guys must do it?

JP I'm going to take your idea and turn it around a bit. Since straight men can say "No Homo" then gay men can say "No Hetero" when the compliment the same sex. It's only fair right?

I guess it's just one of the double standards of our culture. It's socially acceptable for women to compliment other women but yet it's not socially acceptable for a man to compliment another man. That makes it the basis for a lot of jokes. I mean cause if it were socially acceptable, then in the movie, "Dumb and Dumber" it wouldn't have been funny when Jim Carey looked at a guy's butt walking down the street and said, "nice butt, he must work out". Bwahahaha! I laugh EVERY TIME I see/hear that part!

LOL, This thread is hilarious! I think the whole (no homo) (no perv) (no stalker) ect. is so funny. My boyfriend (Zepia) and I are on here so much that we end up using that lingo in real life. Like I'll send him a text, and sometimes it takes in an hour to text back and I always reply with "wow, strong delay". Or we just say no homo is we compliment someone of the same sex.

Wow strong sentence structure.

Is there a safe way to teach the abbreviations too? It seems like most of them have very naughty words.

Now don't laugh but I recently found out what MILF and PIITB meant.

I'm starting to see them more and more. If they are too crude to post then feel free to email them to me.

Thanks

I think i can compliment a guy on his build... hell, we're on a bb site for the love of god... without having to clarify my sexuality... but for some folks, i guess it has to be done...

now, if i said something like, "hey big boy, will you please post a pic of that sexy round buttocks of yours" then i guess that would require the "no homo" declaration, although in this case, i can?t imagine me adding "no home" after such a comment will mean a whole hell of a lot!!!

Speaking of cottage cheese (YUM) I recieved a recipe for my vitamix machine for cheese cake made with C.C. and tofu.

Tried it and it was good, not as good as the real thing of course! Only 125 cals. per slice. Next time I make it I will add some vanilla or almond extract for a little more dessert taste. Oh, and it needs to be really chilled for optimum taste.

But, for a dessert fix without much damage it's great.

as far as "n00dz with a fork pic" no need to repeat yourself... i got the point with "n00dz" :) (by the way, I do really know what you mean with fork pics. I just don't feel I need to prove anything. If people think that my avi is too good to be really me, I'll take is as a great compliment.)

other than that, nope sorry, no stories... my 'hetro'-ness is equivalent to your 'homo'-ness. but if you want details about my 'hetro'-ness, i've got a story or two i can tell. no pics though, sorry. would hate for my past to come back to haunt me.

other than that, nope sorry, no stories... my 'hetro'-ness is equivalent to your 'homo'-ness. but if you want details about my 'hetro'-ness, i've got a story or two i can tell. no pics though, sorry. would hate for my past to come back to haunt me.

Whoa whoa whoa... no need to get so defensive! Srrsly!

San Francisco gets shortened to San Fran because I don't care to pronounce so many "s" sounds. (no lisp) It's purely utilitatrian. If I get looks for it I won't even notice: I'm from Jersey, attitude capital of the world. Got a problem? Feel free to keep it. ;)

As far as n00dz... they're fun to ask for. I didn't expect to get them, but they're still fun to ask for. After all, this is the Misc of the Misc thread. :D

I'm clowning around. Please don't take me seriously (unless I ask you to). (serious)

for the record, working on cc snack #2 of the day... first two spoonfuls were dedicated as planned....

Is that like pouring a little liquor out for your hommies?
ROFLMAO

have a spoonful for this "hommey" (that's how infamous Misc poster CypressHillz spells it, for some reason) as well. Nevr thought i'd say this, but i miss my cottage cheese too...especially when i had it blended smooth mixed in with a bit of nutmeg & splenda and maybe a bit of sugar-free syrup if i was feeling frisky. *sign*

Jersy... smersy... we here in the real world, i.e. northern california, pronounce all our words just like the educated people we are. i'm telling you brother.... you come to this city and pull the san fran or frisco crap, we will just have to carry out and drop you off in oakland.... just to make you feel more like home.

i am typing this and the previous message with a smirk on my face (hope that was obvious) but really, we are very proud of being san francisco snobs here and have no problems showing it

as far as the n00dz.... i have a few but do they have to be of me? i can send them to you... better yet, i can just provide a link.

Ha!!! just give me a plastic spoon and i'm good to go. this way, i don't even have any dishes to do either.

I learned this years ago. From "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" to "The San Francisco Treat", San Fran and Frisco go over like a lead balloon.

The only Frisco I know of is in my home state of Colorado, and it's miles above San Francisco in elevation, and snowy and cold.

now, if i said something like, "hey big boy, will you please post a pic of that sexy round buttocks of yours" then i guess that would require the "no homo" declaration, although in this case, i can?t imagine me adding "no home" after such a comment will mean a whole hell of a lot!!!
