Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on what I might take for moodiness? I'm going thru some frustration where my mood is totally controlled by whatever numbers come up on the scale in the morning. I've heard about B Complex vitamins being able to help?

My husband joked that overweight people who say they are happy are lying, I told him I thought it wasn't that they were happy with the weight they were, it's too depressing to struggle with losing weight.

I started off at around 250 lbs after I had my baby and currently am plateauing around 190 and have been VERY depressed the last few days. My husband is a total fanatic and having a 10-month old and the basic pressures of life are getting to be too much, sorry if I sound like I am whining, I just wonder if there is anything I can take to help me avoid these mood swings, or do I just need to give my head a shake and get it together?

Happy to hear some feedback,
Thanks!

Are you taking fish oil?
It's not only very good for your health, but also are used in treating depression, ADD, pms and other emotional probs.
If you are taking it, up the dose. Most dosage recommendations on the bottle are far too low.

Also, there is a lot of good feedback on L-Tyrosine.....run a search on that...

Yes, omegas from epa/dha (fish oils). I take both epa/dha and flax, although most of the research with depression and such is with the fish oils.
I've taken several different kinds, right now I have the mega epa/dha from lef (life extension foundation).
I've used Sears Labs too which I really like. It's expensive but it seems to digest very well. All of the "pharmaceutical grade" fish oil supps digest the best and are the best for you (the cleanest). I also take one from my boyfriend from metagenics, but you can only get that from a medical practice (he's a chiropractor).
I would say find a reputable company and make sure it's pharmaceutical grade. Start with a lower dose and work the dosage up and drink lots of water with the caps, just because sometimes in the beginning when you're not used to it you'll burp fish oil (yuk). But it is so good for you and worth it.
Try to eat lots of wild salmon too for a natural source.

hope that helps!
