I don't know what to do anymore. I have been on diets since I was 14. I am absolutely miserable. I am the slimfast queen. I recently lost alot of weight on slimfast but got tired of it (although I vowed never to get tired of it). I am so tired of eating sugar twice a day and want some real food. So I begin to eat healthy normal stuff and I gain 2.5 pounds a week! Now I gained it all back and am back where I started. This is just awful. I know I have to go back on another diet or be fat forever. I am so sick of this cycle of gaining and losing. I work out (at the gym) but I am nothing but bone and fat. I have no muscle tone. I asked the doctor if I may have messed up my metabolism by extreme dieting but he says thats not possible(although I dont believe him). I really dont know what to do now but go on another diet because "moderate changes" just dont work for me.
I wanted to go see a nutritionist but I absolutely can't afford it.

My husband lifts weights and has been trying to get me to do the same. I did that once and never got anywhere. I heard somewhere you cant lose fat and gain muscle at the same time?? I am wanting to build muscle because I have none! I would possibly like to get into bodybuilding. I am 5'7 and 160lbs. (back where I started)
I don't know what to do anymore because I have been on about every diet out there, and it's getting harder and harder to lose.
Can someone PLEASE help me?

I understand your plight. As it will get very long in explaining how, please pm me as soon as you can. I've been where you have been, and i think i can help. I know, a short answer or "I agree" is not going to help you. If you do pm me, i will help you get started.

Your problem is EXERCISE or the lack of it. The simplest thing to do is to take up jogging/running. NOT WALKING, as that won't burn much Cal. RUNNING!!!

Well, I used to run alot. I ran cross country in high school and in college. I only started running to lose weight. Now I run, do cardio machines and a very high energy aerobics class.
If I don't want to gain I have to do insane amounts of cardio and it sucks. I work out hard and may lose weight but I don't look any better. I just end up looking deflated. I have never been toned. I don't have much muscle. I have tried to gain muscle in the past but was unsuccessful and got discouraged.

Ok, If you work out hard (need to be defined in details, what is working out hard to someone may NOT actually in fact be THAT hard), but you are not gaining muscle, the problem is in diet. You need to eat enough protein . Protein is hte building blocks of muscle. Exercise stimulates the muscle to grow. You need both.

Don't know how much protein you are taking (Slimfast is not going to give you enough protein). You need to take at least 1 gram per lb of you weight. Take between 1.5 gram to 2 gram per lb of weight, if you want to build muscle. Couple that with weight lifting, you will transform your body composition.

I know this oversimplified. But this is the direction you should be going.

I tell you what. Instead of listening to me (who as my girl would call, a dumbass :D), I highly recommend that you contact Str8flexed and Todd Blue, and tell them I send you, as they have promised to help out any new members. They are fully qualified experts.

They will work out a nutritional plan and a work out plan for you!!!
