What is the best way to remove all of one's pubic hair???? I'm chicken to put a razor near my labia. I thought hair removal cream might cause a nasty burn or rash, not to mention is smells awful :D . Any ideas???

Yep - waxing is the only way to go. Do NOT go the week before your period as your vulva is particularly sensitive at that time - and yes, this iwll hurt - but you'll get used to it.
And make sure you're comfortable with the person who's doing it - and more improtantly that they're comfortable with you - I had a woman do it once who was totally bugged out by how private it was - um - new career maybe?

I've mastered it with the blade! I use the Schick Quattro with Skintimate shave gel. The key is the upkeep. You have to shave EVERY DAY. That's what keeps the irritation and ingrown hairs away.

Shave in the morning or night right before your shower (hard to do while in the shower - for me anyway...)
Cool thing about it, if you nick yourself, it's like "magic" skin- it heals really quickly. By the time I'm out of the shower, I've forgotten all about it - REALLY!

Another key is to use a good razor. None of those cheapie disposables (10 in a bag - no way!). They will tear you to bits! Invest in a higher end razor.

That Brazillian wax job business has to grow in some before you can re-wax - STUBBLE! Who wants that?

With a razor, I am "CLEAN" all the time.

Yes I know I am a guy but my gf uses "Coochy" its a rash free product its like a lotion / shaving cream.

I have even used it and noticed much less of a rash...

She got it from www.slumberparties.com

hope this helps...

Thanks a lot ladies and gentlemen ;) -

A high-end razor and a good shaving cream or a wax job. I'll try the good razor first (I do have those cheap bics). Everyday - I thought as much. I may get up the nerve for a wax job after awhile....

Tuffgirl, how often do you have to change your blade?

I use a blade as well and use to use "Coochy" and it works great but is pretty expensive, especially if you are shaving everyday. I found that a good coditioner works perfectly. Just use a hair conditioner like you would use shaving cream. Smooth everytime! I use "3-minute miracle" made by Aussie. You can get it at any department store for under 5 dollars.

OK, I'm set! A good razor and some conditioner. I wouldn't want to have stubble - ouchy. :)

Hon, all you need is some shaving gel like Skintimate and a Venus razor and viola - no razor burnor ingrowns. Mind you, you have to shave every day or two, no longer than that. Piece of cake! (no pun intended)!

It's not too late... do tell!

I use a Venus razor - dang, those replacement blades are expensive! I still struggle with bumps and ingrowns... but I have dark, thick hair, so maybe it's worse for folks like me.

[i]but I have dark, thick hair, so maybe it's worse for folks like me. [/B]

I have thick (like brillo, baby!) dark hair as well, {I'm a "dark chocolate lovely", if you know what I mean.} yet I manage to keep the ingrowns at bay.

***I change my blades after each 5th shave.***
Probably if your hair isn't as coarse, you could get by with a couple more shaves per blade. Yes, the Quattro blades are expensive, but I think they are well worth it.

No appointments necessary... I can do it in the privacy of my own powder room - any time.

Hi,

I'll try the Venus razor. I did use one of the cheap bics before I posted this thread. Yeah, I've got little red razor bumps - very attractive ;) . And it will be an every day thing, I can see that, literally. No problem....

I'm very light-skinned, but I have the dark situation as well...

Wow, reading this I've got a question of my own! Although I'm pretty much caucasion, I have extremely thick hairs. What makes it worse is that I've got sensitive skin to add up to that. No matter what I do (shaving) I still get those annoying ingrowns. How much....does waxing hurt the first time!! And does it make the hairs less thick after you do it?

heres my little waxing story to make it seem alright :)
Im only 19 and have always carried xtra fat before getting into shape....

I always said that when I lost a bit of weight id get a brazillian...I never did...so I went to get my first brazillian anyway....
Im a naturally shy and timid person so this was a big thing for me....I rang up and booked in while my sisters taunted me about the pain...(what else are sisters for??)

It was so easy...although I was more nervous about my "fat" thighs than having my legs spread...

The hair was heaps softer on regrowth...and my new found confidence helped me along the way to get my ass in to the gym..

my point is that I would recomend it to anyone....

i find genital hair attractive, i would never want a woman to shave/wax it.

women are so smooth all over that to me to have no hair down there would feel just too wierd.

please keep the hair!!!!

keep it trimmed, for same reason as the dude expressed above. Women are smooth all over, gair down there makes it that extra bit special. Not too much though to the point you cant find the P :)

exactly....if you must trim it just do that, just don't shave/wax it all.

I would so much prefer a woman to do just the bikini line and then leave the rest of the hair there as it is.

Well, there are a lot of guys that think removing all is really hot. To each his own, I guess.

My problem with trimming is that gives you blunt ends that stick out at odd angles and poke through your undies if you have really coarse, dark hair.

Sorry... that was probably too much information...

Don't any men trim or shave? Gawd.

I shave and trim. I agree, you have to use good razors (Venus for the Ladies, Mach3 for the men), and I do it about every 3 days. I don't find the need to do it more than that, any less, and it's razor burn.

My wife once shave completely bald. I have no idea how the hell she did it. So I can't offer any advice on that one. I guess patience and a steady hand.

I do shave my bikini line daily... that's an absolute must for me. I was talking about trimming all over with scissors.

And for some reason, it itched, even though I was just trimming. That seemed odd. Thought the itching only happened with a complete shave. Maybe I have unusually sensitive skin.

I use a mach 3 turbo to shave and that razor is awesome, even though its a men's razor. I woudl highly recommend it for women.

As for the trimming. I use one of those electrical razor's and I flip that trimming part out and run it right over the "strip" trims it completely even and perfect.

Ps: I heard that Coochie stuff works really well but I think I might try to conditioner advice that a previous post mentioned.

I think for a woman, it is her personal preference if she wants to be smooth or not. I prefer a woman with just a little hair down below. As for us men, guys look cheesy all smooth. I don't know a better word for it than that. I prefer just trimming it up nice and neat, but shaving down below? No way!

This may go without saying, but shave in the same direction the hair grows (down not up). I shave every day or so with a disposable Good News, without bumps, etc., but shaving in the right direction is key.

And as for conditioner, it's great (even the cheap stuff)! I use it to shave my legs, too - much nicer than any shaving cream I've tried.

I did the laser hair removal route. I'm so happy I did (and so is my husband). I feel much smoother and sexier that way. The problem is it takes about 5 or 6 treatments with 4-6 weeks in between each so it's a pretty long process, but worth it in the end. I also did my legs and underarms.

LOL hair removal cremes I tried were apparently not fit for that area even tho they were listed as being for "sensitive skin".... I nuked my schmooshke! Talk about pain LOL

Tried shaving got itchy stubble and bumps.

Want to try waxing but doing it myself had crap results, and I am not into thumping my still hefty arse into a salon chair and saying "Run a Bush Hog over this will ya?" to a toal stranger....

No man to do it for me what a shame... :(

Might try a shave again but.. how do those porno queens manage the whole 9 yards like they do? Surely there should be some evidence of the renovations! (hehe)

I am a guy and use a hair trimmer that cost me like 5$ and then nair the rest away.

Question to girls:
Like a guy shaved completely, little bit there, or bush?

To be honest I find totally shaved.. wierd.

A great forest is also a turn off, if it is neatly trimmed to an acceptable length like say.... one inch, then it is not stubbly and prickly feeling ( he he ) and looks nice.

As to the shape or borders, I think that is up to the fella but it is nice when it is kept neat, but hey it really depends on the rest of the body.. it would look strange if your leg hair upper thigh is there but suddenly you "go bald", eh? ;)

Neat and clean but no baldies please! :D

my g/f says she doesnt want to get laser b/c Doctors say the pubic hair is important during the birth process.
Is this true?
I cant see how to two have any correlation.

My wife shaves everything except for a tiny little strip of hair. I love how it looks.
Myself, I started out last year just using hair trimmers on my chest and stomach, which then graduated to my legs. Then one day this summmer i decided to completely shave my legs, which lead to completely shaving my chest/stomach and then my arms which lead to completely shaving the pubic area too. I now leave a strip of pubic hair about 1.5 inches wide but everything else is gone.
I thought it was weird at first but I really like how it looks. Muscle definition is much greater.
Do any of the ladies find it strange?

Hi - I love waxing but to get everything done - my whole body - would be over $300 a month....

I discovered shaving with an electric shaver and then using (what I now have discovered is a "fake") - Seiko Cleancut Shaver makes you feel like you've been waxed....you can totally use it in your private areas without any pain. Even my fake version works....but supposedly the Cleancut is the best shaver out there.

It only removes the shortest stubble....you have to shave until you get to the point of stubble, then the Cleancut removes the rest.

Like I said, I just discovered I have a fake one but it does work....I'm guessing the Seiko would be superior...anyway, if anyone tries it, I'd like to know how it works for you.

Happy Hair Removal!

what about 'magic shave' or creams that remove hair without the blade?

(yeah, i'm a guy, but this thread came up while i did a search for 'shave' :D )

oh, and girls...bald is beautiful, but there's nothing wrong with a lil fuzz. using electric clippers down there should be enough...til you're feeling froggy enough to completely bald...just my opinion. there's more to women than the length of hair down there :D (thank God!)

Also dissapointed in the nair. I was going to ask about creams too, what the best one was.

Right now (this is going to sound weird) but Im TOO lean to shave cleanly. The blade just doesnt want to grab it all. Im not new to shaving by any means, I think its just the skin isnt thick enough or something. But Im 1 week out from a show and need to get rid of this stuff. I really dont want to pay to get it waxed. I used the regular nair on the rest of my body and like the results but the bikini nair is a waste of time.
