Before I post the rest of the pics, I am going to post a pic that I took of myself. The lighting determines the quality of the pics. This first pic gives a good idea of where I'm at. I took these about 30 minutes after doing some light upper body work.

**** genetics... it's hard work that determines how far you go. How are you gonna put someone down like that 2 days before his show? Do you have any idea what kind of emotional and physical state someone is in at that point? They are ****ing drained, he doesn't need to read that ****. And btw Derek, this guy is WRONG... oh so wrong, and you are going to help him insert his foot into his mouth when you turn professional as a natural bodybuilder.

^^ Why don't you just ban these guys. After months of dieting and getting prepared for a show like this, people don't need to hear stuff like this. Even if it's a joke, or an obvious lie. It is still heart breaking.

You are looking good beast. I've been following your progress from only about 7 weeks out, and I can definately tell your diet is definately paying off. :)

Plain and simple, you don't know what the f*ck you are talking about. Obviously you know nothing about the sport. Why even bother posting garbage like this.

Derek - I have been following your progress and it is very impressive. Especially at such a young age. Keep at the hard work and you will go far in this sport.

Good luck this weekend.

Derek,

Just have to add a question for you, yes it is because I am a powerlifter:) How has your strength stayed as your bodyfat has dropped, if you have seen a loss, at around what % did you notice it. Agian this is just because I am a powerlifter, you are definetly a freak and will be a force to be dealt with.

i try to explain (english isn't my mother language):
derek's body is incredible: ripped and massive, and he showed a great discipline and even balls (no problem to admit that my physique isn't at his level)
But I attend gyms for 13 years now, and, differently fron all these young guys that believe everything they read, it' so evident to me that the guy is on roids and gh (look how the legs definition improved in a so short period of time). this is sad, at his age.

yea... it couldn't possibly be b/c he works hard at his phyique could it? He has a better physique than you so it must be because it's on drugs. NO!

simple, he works harder than you, and you just don't have the balls to admit that someone could have a better physique than you without being on drugs

I weigh 180 lbs. at 5'10". If this is all that I could accomplish on juice, I'd quit. I've been bodybuilding for the past 5 years. I have not missed a single scheduled workout during that time. My diet has been great the entire time as well. I could tell you just about everything I've eaten for the past year. I keep records of everything: bodyfat %, girth measurements, weight, the food I eat, etc. Show my your spreadsheet with all that info from the past 3 years.

Also, this and the other competitions I've entered are drug tested. If I was on steroids and GH as you think, I would fail the test on Saturday.

It is a compliment that you think I use drugs, but I don't. Just because someone has a well developed physique does not mean that use steriods.

When I was training with low reps (2-3), my strength was actually climbing while dieting. Once I got down to about 5-6% bodyfat, I started noticing a decrease in power/energy.

I think if your training is well structured, you shouldn't lose much if any strength while dieting, unless you are getting into competition bf% levels.

Woah, you're only 180? You look heavier. I'm 155, and 3 inches shorter, so I figure if I can gain 25-30 pounds and lose all of the fat I'd look somewhat similar to you. Thanks for giving me something to shoot for (I know there are other factors, but it is something to shoot for).

I'd also like to thank you for keeping this section. I almost messed it up for everybody (it was fun though :D), but I'm glad I didn't ruin everything. You truly are an inspiration, Derek.

Derek buddy you are ON and ready without a doubt. Not much else to say or do but have fun! You already look so dry; I noticed I didn't dry up until about Friday or early Saturday morning right before prejudging. And dude your legs are pure motivation hehe. What would you say contributed the most (which exercise and split) to your leg development? Thanks and good luck with everything. Later.

Squats 3 X 4-6
Stiff Leg Deadlift 3 X 4-6
Leg Press 3 X 4-6

That was probably the most effective leg split I've ever done. Just hard and heavy.

Wow, I didn't know I had so much support. Thank you everyone, it is very moving to know I have the BB.com members backing.

Right now I am looking very hard and vascular, but flat and holding a little water. The carb up should take care of the flatness and water. I am guessing that I will hit stage at 185-186 lbs, which would be about 13 pounds heavier than last year.

Basically all I am going to do today is pose and eat, then start my carb-up tonight. It's hard to believe the contest is tomorrow!

Again, I want to thank everyone for their support. You guys are the best!

Since someone brought up the subject of your (massive) legs, how long is it that you've been doing full, rock-bottom squats, and do you really think the benefit of full range of motion outweighs the increased risk of injury to the knees and lower back? I find it very difficult personally to squat so deep using heavy weight. Just curious, but I do understand if you are too busy and exhausted to answer.
Anyways, the best of luck on your contest and be sure to tell us all about it!

Well i dont post here often (ok the first time in this section) just wanted to wish you the best of luck in your comp.

By the way that is a terrible post competition meal. I recommend an oreo & cookie dough blizzard from the dairy queen ;) maybe desert for the pancakes?

Oh yea. I'm Indian. Get Karai Gosht with tandoori bread. Now that stuff is awesome. [drools] So much fatty heart clogging goodness.

Yup, the naan is good. Next time you go ask them for Karai Gosht (silent T). But it is more of a pakistani dish.

i try to explain (english isn't my mother language):
derek's body is incredible: ripped and massive, and he showed a great discipline and even balls (no problem to admit that my physique isn't at his level)
But I attend gyms for 13 years now, and, differently fron all these young guys that believe everything they read, it' so evident to me that the guy is on roids and gh (look how the legs definition improved in a so short period of time). this is sad, at his age.

please explain this accusation

layne, wake up!
don't you have enough gym experience to know that people juice just for a 80 kilos (176 lbs) beach body, without even considering to compete?

you are just a jealous moron

you should do your side chest pose the old school way, with your ribcage up like the GOVERNATOR get some old pics of arnold and lee haney and check it out they all did their side schest like that noone does anymore so it would really make you stand out in the judges minds

judges aren't so found of it anymore b/c it doesn't show off obliques as well... which is too bad b/c i also prefer that version of the side chest
