Hey guys, ever since I started lifting heavier weight (afew months ago) most noticeably from 185lb bench to 225lb bench I have had a noticeable wrist pain on my left hand.

I noticed the pain was coming from a very specific spot on my left hand's wrist...it's right at the bone (that little bump on the side) so when ever I move my left hand around too much I will feel pain there and especially when I am weight lifting.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Also what can I do to help relieve the pain?
I've had afew people tell me to wrap my wrist or to do wrist exercises with dumbells to 'strengthen' the wrist.

Any help is appreciated, and I am also thinking about going to the doctor to get it checked on...I definetely don't want carpal tunnel or anything! Especially not at this young age and ESPECIALLY with what I do (musician, motorcyclist, etc.) My wrist is important for what I do :P

The little bone at the side if you are looking from the top? If so, then it is ulnar sided.

Some possible causes could be -
Bony damage -
- hamate fracture
- pisiform fracture
- ulnar styloid frx
- base of the fifth metacarpal
Cartilage damage -
- TFCC (Triangular Fibro Cartilage Complex)
Tendon related -
- extensor carpi ulnaris
- flexor carpi ulnaris

It could also be a minor or temporary irritation/inflammation of the ulnar styloid but I am sure you can appreciate the possible gravity of the matter. Especially if you are a musician. Go see a doctor ASAP!

Let's hope it's nothing serious.
