I recently came across a full bottle of these. Found them buried in my wall locker.

200mcg tablets. Would it be worth taking at all on the cut diet?

Specifically with the re-feed meal and maybe perhaps the morning meal where I eat most of my carbs.. (meal1 includes 25G of carbs, 10 from green beans/15 from grapefruit.)

Any and all responses appreciated. Thank You

-Mike

Chromium picolinate should help blunt the insulin response of a high carb meal. Thus, it is certainly very benifical to take on a cut, or really any time you have a high carb meal--cut, bulk, maintence.

I'm not that big of a fan of chromium, some of the latest studies show that it really doesn't help as much as we once thought. I'd focus on fish oils, r-ala, sesame oil and the like. If you want a anti-insulin supplement go with vandayl sulfate. I'm also not a fan of it for anti-insulin but it's a great supplement for bringing out vascularity.

Sorry to hog the thread, but can you expand any further on vandayl sulfate?

No problem, Vandayl Sulfate is an old supplement that was very popular in the late 80's/early 90's as it was marketed as a fat loss supplement. It never really panned out and disappear. Recently it has resurfaced as an insulin senstiivity supplement. While it has been shown in rats to improve tissue sensitivity to insulin, we must also remember that it is a metal and when taken in high dosages it can be toxic. I've even heard that when taken upwrds of 100mg's per day that it can compete with iron in the blood but I have not seen research stating this.

While it may be useless as an insulin shuttling supplement, it does work very well to bring out vascularity. Most companies sell it in 10 or 15 mg's pills and I've found that taking it pre-workout does seem to bring out veins more.

I feel it is a worthwhile supplement only if you have achieved low levels of body fat.

I could have sworn i have seen this ingredient in a supplement recently.... do you know if its still manufactured in fat loss supplements? I am trying to avoid excess metals in my diet.

Thanks.

That whole "metal" thing is a bit of a turn-off, haha.

I'm not sure if it is still added to fat loss supplements.

I'm type II diabetic, and I can say with much certainty that Chromium Picolinate, at least for me, does have an effect on my blood sugars,...

I haven't researched much past the 200mg per day recomendation, but I have split it away from my morning sups, as I generally use some R-ALA with breakfast, if I'm eating carbs,...

that's good info there...

type III Dyabeties runs in my family. Every male on my fathers side has gotten it. when they hit the age of like 55. My dad is 54 right now. Doesn't have it yet but is ****ting his pants.

Anyway.. its good to know that chromium does have an effect. Good enough for me that I will start taking it in the mornings and during my refeed meal. 200mg chromium, 1g sesamin, 1g fish oil... should control insulin for that big meal.
