you may have done it already, if so i missed it, but you obviously know how to tan, so could you do us a favor and post what exactly youve been doing? i know exposure times are different for people but i guess im just curious as to how often your doing it, what tanning devices if any you are using, i assume some cause every picture you post its cloudy out so i guess michigan isnt sunny, and so on. im not really worried about what you do pre contest with the fake tanners and stuff, im not competing, but im just a guy thats been trying for 6 weeks now to get a good tan and failing miserably. i know its hard to mess up but ive done it. its not even like i burn easily im just not getting tanned. so if you could shed some light (bwa ha, light! get it?) that would be very appreciated. thanks a lot

Shed some light, lol.

I go to a tanning salon. I always use the stand up bed as it allows you to get under your arms. I did this:
Week 1: 8 mins, 3 days later 8 mins
Week 2: 9 mins, 3 days later 9 mins
Week 3: 10 mins, 3 days later 10 mins
...
15 minutes, 3 days later 15 minutes
Now I will be going 3 X a week for 15 minutes

so you continue to get darker even though youve stopped at 15 mins? your just going more often? that makes sense. i kept trying to increase my minutes to 17 or 18 and id get burned every time. guess 16 is all my white tushy can handle. thanks.

most upright beds have a 15 minute limit.....

make sure you use a darkening oil as well....makes all the difference in the world.

really? darkening oils as in tanning accelarators? i just figured they made you more sensitive to the light so someone that normally would need 15 minutes would get the same effect from like 10. theyre pretty expensive but i guess if they are the difference between a good tan and no tan i should go for it. either way im ruining my skin might as well look good doing it.

yes as in tanning accelerators...they can help you break through plateaus if you are having trouble getting darker than you desire.

the most expensive ones yah.....but you can get them for much cheaper than that and have them still be very effective. the bottles actually last longer than you would thing as well.
