Hey, I have the Powertec Workbench Leverage System WB-LS. Is this a good bench to build muscle for chest. I find it different then just using a bar

or should I buy the OLYMPIC/NARROW BENCH?

Yip, its good enough, a free bar is better but you can get by with that gym, its not until you've been training for a long time that you may need to mix things up with other equipment to improve gains.

My chest was mainly built with a leverage gym or smith machine... I've never had problems.

I do love free weights, but leverage gyms are much safer IMO, and when your working with form, and safety in mind, those are most important to me.

Yeah I was unsure if it does the same as a bar, I can lift more weight on the Powertec leverage then a bar. but I feel lot safer.

safety is the key when working out alone, i do mostly free weight exercises but have safety spotters on my bench and power rack....so that keeps me from worrying...a leverage system by powertec works very good, i tried one yesterday was real impressed...but later on maybe try to get a fid bench i recommend bodycraft or ironmaster especially ironmaster, but if u dont have a power rack get the narrow bench looks pretty good...

I also have the WB-LS, it is a good all-in one Gym.

Obviously, with the leverage ratio, you can lift more than with just bare hands (plus you don't have to use more muscle to stabilized the weight), the safety is assured and you are not afraid of going to failure (always a concern without a spotter).

So if you mix this with let says heavy dumbbells and/or Swiss ball, you should have the best of both world.

Conclusion, yes you can built serious muscle with that gym (together with other equipment).

I do bench presses inside my power rack and i feel safe.

I can do 15 reps with 225 lbs. I guess on a leverage chest press i can put more weight.
