What am I all about?

Well, in short, I am changing my life! I grew up playing sports my whole life, and all my jobs were in the manual labor field. I was involved in a serious car accident about 4 1/2 years ago that took me out of my job. Since my wreck I have became the Lead Residential / Light Commercial Designer at an Engineering Firm. Although the job is great, over the past couple of years I had put on alot of weight. Went from around 260 to an all time recorded high of 351lbs. Something had to change, so I got back into working out and dropped to a little over 300lbs. Then in March, I got married to my fiancee of 3 1/2 years. During that whole time I managed to get back to 330ish. I have since decided to change all that. My wife joined the gym I was going to and we have dedicated ourselves to a healthy lifestyle. Then Mr. Aries promoted a 90 day transformation contest. I was skeptical at first about posting horrible pictures of my self on the net, but decided to take the leap, as it would help me in my journey. I am now a Wildcard contestant in the transformation contest. I have since dropped down to around 304 - 306lbs. I have found myself reading more and more on this site, which lead me to Des asking for applications to log Thyrotabs. I applied for one of the 10 spots, and later recieved an PM with Des telling me he is going to Sponsor me aswell. I am very thankfull, as i feel this will help me in my journey.

Man the lake house was so fun. They have a double decker platform that is literally about 20' above the water that we were jumping off of. We also went out ski'ing and tubing. It was a blast.


I knew I was not going to get to do a whole lot of working out on this trip so while we were out tubing I jumped off the boat on the other side of the lake (300-400 yards) and swam back. Man it was a longer swim than I had thought. I had a blast this weekend. I also got commented on how they could tell I lost weight. :)

It looks like you are missing healthy fats in your diet.

I do use some olive oil during the cooking of some of my chicken. I was also thinking about adding some almonds in for a snack, or pre-bed.

Almonds would be a wise choice. There is nothing wrong with natural peanut butter also!

I just would really like to keep my calories 2000 or below. Any suggestions as to were to fit them in, as almonds and peanut butter (natural) are calorie dense.

I was thinking 'bout this question for awhile. I couldn't come up with a good answer. I suck at building a diet to be quite honest. But I always liked taking my healthy fats (flax seed oil, almonds, peanut butter) either in the first or second meal in the morning or last meal in the evening.

Well, if i had to be sick any week of my log, im glad its the first week. This just means that I am going to have to kick it up another notch once I get over being sick. I am excited to be able to get back in the gym.

Yeah, I think I am going to add a handfull of almonds to my Pre Bed meal. Drink my shake and eat a few almonds before I go to bed.

MY WORKOUT SEEMED TO SUFFER DUE TO MY SHOULDER PROBLEM. THE DOCTOR DIAGNOSED ME WITH BURSITUS AND ABOUT A YEAR AGO. SINCE, I HAVE RECIEVED (2) COTISONE SHOTS. THE FIRST ONE WORKED GOOD AND LASTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS. THEN THE SECOND ONE ONLY WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. SINCE, MY SHOULDER HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. IT REALLY HURTS DURING SOME OF MY EXERCISES. AS YOU CAN SEE, I SKIPPED MY DB SIDE RAISES, AND FRONT RAISES, IT WAS JUST TO PAINFULL TO DO THESE. DOES ANYONE RECOMMEND A JOINT SUPPLIMENT MAYBE I COULD MEGADOSE FOR A WHILE TO SEE IF IT HELPS...OR ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON SOME ROTATOR CUFF EXERCISES.

Hey Tim, how has the low intensity and longer duration cardio worked out for you?

I feel as though I am responding well to it. I have been thinking about getting up early in the morning before work and running a mile each day. I would like to see were my current mile time is, and what I could get it down too. Plus it would give my metabolism a boost throughout the day as I sit at work working on the computer.....Ahhhhh I just hate getting up early!

Edit: This would be in addition to my current routine.

Its a white squarish bottle with a sticker like the front of the box on it.

There was a couple broken pills in the bottle...kinda looks like they popped...weird. And I dont see the contents of the pills in the bottle.

Sorry Gaspari, Des, Zach, and all that have been following my log for not posting up lately... I have had ALOT going on lately.
I am currently in the process of buying a house, and selling one of my cars. Then last week a girl I gew up with and her friend were killed by a drunk driver. Some 19 year old guy ran into the back of the SUV they were riding in and hit them at an estimated 65mph. He walked away from the crash with only scratches (or walked into jail). And his (2) passengers are in critical condition in the hospital. This past week has just been full of all kinds of emotions. My workouts have suffered bcause of it. What gets me most, is the kid had been caught drinking a week or so before and got in trouble with the law about it. So many thoughts keep popping in my head about the whole situation...Anger towards the kid, sorrow in knowing his whole life is wasted....

But, the briight side is...car was sold yesterday and the house stuff is finishing up... So all I have to do is get back in routine. I am glad to see other people still going at it strong. I hope to take this last part of the contest and make dramatic changes.

just remeber not to overtrain. the combination of mental emotional and phyasical stress can easily put you into overtraining. which will raise cortisol levals and slow down you thyroid.
