I was wondering if anyone has ever looked in the mirror and felt as if they have never worked out even though you may have been at it for 3 years or so. I have been feeling that way. I love nothing more than working out but I feel as if my gains are so small or that I am not gaining at all. My girlfriend and friends tell me I lok big but I dont care because I am not seeing anything. Anyone ever had this and if so what do I do??

First, when was the last time you had a check up. You have to make sure that all the endocrine systems are working up to snuff. Next what is your diet like? Third, you don't say whether you are male or female, I will assume you are female, since this is the female section, and state that you have to work out with weights as often as you do cardio. What type and how long (each session) are you working out?

there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. that's 100% normal. by nature man is never satisfied with what he has... just work harder in the gym, eat big, and dont worry about it. you're HYOOOOOGE.

Hang in there! Sometimes we (especially women) tend to have distorted body images, not recognizing our own improvements.

Here are a few ideas I tried while losing weight (but could also apply to gaining muscle mass):
1) Have someone take monthly photos of you - full body shots, or focused on parts you are working on. While you may not notice your progress on a daily basis, the monthly photos will tell the real tale!
2) Use a tape measure to take measurements. When you compare from month to month, you will notice improvements.
3) How about your clothing? Since you have been working on gaining muscle mass (vs. losing weight) maybe you've noticed some items of clothing feeling tighter?
4) Trust your workout buddies, friends and family. I'm guessing that they are seeing improvements that you are not. Has anyone who doesn't know you are working out ever made a comment? That is a tell-tale sign!

Take care and keep at it!
