Hi there,
Im in MAnchester.... How's everyone.. Will liek to also meet a workotu partner.. . Train 5-6 days Currently cutting up and doign ltos of HIIT Cardio.. Will like to get to knwo more fit conscious people and those on the message boards. Also, I am thinking of getting a workout partner as well. You bet they wont ..hehehe :) its been 10 yrs since i set for in Guildford... aside from the few bars, i remember an old church on the hill, near the university. Did'nt think there was much night life though...i'm sure things have improved.

Lets take the question a little further... Which gyms do you guys workout at and are they any good? I've recently joined Fitness First and although I'm looking forward to my first workout tomorrow, its aimed at the "fitness" market so there is relatvily little free weights, but I went for my induction last night and at 5.30, the CV area was getting pretty busy...... there were THREE guys in the free weights area! Admittedly they were all built like tanks, but the lack of people would be good in terms of never having to wait for equipment. Sucks if you need to spot though.

Well I am in Exeter, sunny Devon ( not ).
Any one on here in UK compete ( Natural comps )?
I use fitness first, very good range of free wieghts and Hammer strength. Best of all a decent pull up bar so I can hang weights of me for chins( overhand ).
I train early afternoon so avoid the rush of teatime lycra watchers.
Aim is to maybe try a comp, currently 195LB from 205LB, still slowly cutting, but still trying to gain aswell which is working at mo.

I'm a bit of a gym whore actually - I train at all sorts of gyms depending on what suits me at the time. If you're a student you can use Fenner's which has a PL room and might be the one you're talking about since it's pretty basic. Very cheap though - £25 I think for a years membership, plus membership of the main gym if you want that, but even that's not very expensive.
If you're not a student then try Kelsey Kerridge (just behind Parkside pools, off Parker's Piece). They have a decent weights room there, though annoyingly it's separate from the main gym (Outlooks) so you have to join both if you want to use that. Outlooks does have a rather nice jacuzzi which is outside on the balcony & overlooks Parker's Piece - excellent for chilling out after a good session :) Also has the advantage of being open until 11pm every night (including Sunday) which is pretty rare around here. You don't have to be a member, you can go there as a one-off, but you do have to get accredited to use the weights room.
My main gym is Green's, but that's because I do a lot of classes & stuff. Probably not worth it for you, they don't have much in the way of PL equipment. I do my lifting at Fenner's, and sometimes Kelsey Kerridge if I want to train late, especially Sunday nights.
