do you look different in your pics

i did the bodyforlife competition, i am 6'3, dropped 25 pound to get to 225, looked pretty good in the mirror, but when ever i photograph my self i look totally different, not much definition shows in the pic and i look retarded, is it my eyes, or do you look ALOT worse in photos?

its all got to do with the angle of the light. like when u photo urself with a flash camera, the light is coming straight at u from the flash so its not the same angle as the light in the room.
