When I do cardio on a machine, I use an elliptical strider.

Less impact on the joints than running on a threadmill.
I don't like bikes.

So when do you do each type of cardio? Some days do clean cardio and some days do the elliptical machine?
Do you think that the clean cardio hampers your ability to recover?
Finally, you don't do your cardio on an empty stomach do you?
Thank you

Glutamine does not work. Never do cardio on an empty stomach. Your cortisol levels will be sky high. All you will do is cause catabolism.

Correct.

No, if anything accelerates it. Increased blood flow, increased Glut-4 transporter translocation, increase metabolic rate, etc.
Finally, you don't do your cardio on an empty stomach do you?
No, I don't like catabolism.
Thank you

Dont drink the shake before you do your cardio. Just do your normal workout with weights then go straight to the cardio. The weightlifting will deplete glycogen stores then the cardio right after will burn more fat.

In reference to cardio after weights:
How serious can 20 min of moderate intensity cardio following a concise 45 min lifting session be in regards to cortisol release? I know we'd like to be as scientific as possible, but turning away from a rowing machine or an elliptical trainer for fear of losing your precious muscle just sounds a bit ridiculous. Especially on a cut cycle, which we're obviously referring to, when lifting isn't as intense.
Any thoughts?

Im not saying cortisol will be raised significantly by the cardio, but it will already be high after a workout. Your workout is probably the most catabolic time of the day. SO GET SOME CARBS. That is the only thing that will surpress cortisol. Otherwise, you will lose more muscle.

I prefer a variety in my cardio with alternating high intensity (sprints, clean cardio, etc.) with low intensity (uphill walk, swimming, Eliptical trainer, rollerblading) sessions.

I agree that variety is important. My cardio sessions are
Monday: Clean Cardio
