Well I've been reading a lot of articles on the Avantlabs.com website. Love that site btw...
I read Zeppelin's article about pre, during and post workout nutrition. He talks about a blend that he recommends for shakes.

For Carbs: 50/50 Dextrose and Maltodextrin
For Protein: Hydrolyzed whey protein
As well as 3-5g of Glutamine.

I have bought a few different shakes from GNC and a couple contain this protein blend:

"Ultra Microfiltered Whey Protein Concentrate, Hydrolysed Glutamine Peptides, Milk Protein islolate, ion exhange whey protein isolate."

Looking at those ingredients, am I getting Hydrolyzed Whey protein from the powder? LOL I see "Hydrolysed" in there and "Whey Protein" but they aren't together LOL. Know what I mean?

My "Mega Whey" Powder contains 4.1g of Glutamine. So I guess I'm ok there... But another one of my powders has "Glutamate", and still another has Glutamic Acid... are these the same as Glutamine?

Am I just getting too complicated here? Should I just drink the darn mix and be happy? LOL Little advice please!

F*cking protein powders... I swear to god...

glutamate and glutamic acid are not the same as L-glutamine.

L-glutamine is what you and most bb's want. it is the amino we're looking for.

Man, I feel like such a chump. I should have known better than to take advice from the skinny guy they have working at GNC.

----------
*skinny guy points to $80 container of protein powder* Now this stuff here is what you want. This will put mass on. That other protein powder you got before is meant to maintain what you already have.

*stupid, gullable shopper = ME, nods head* Ah I see. I guess it doesn't matter that they have almost identical ingrediants. One lists ingrediants for a 64g serving and the other one for 32g serving. Here's my money, I'm too stupid to read labels before I buy something.

:(

Oh well, live and learn.
