What do you think would make a good topic for this section? What makes a good topic?

1. Members are able to give a long and detailed answer. It can't just be a question that can accept a "yes" or "no" simple answer.

2. A question should not have an obvious answer that nobody could debate. Example: "Should you bench press if you want to build your chest?"

3. It should be a topic that many people would be interested to learn about.

Note: Here are existing questions that have already been completed: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw.htm

Thanks for your help!

Best Split Routine to bulk and cut simultaneously.

IronNerves
04-02-2009, 08:31 PM
this is very very hard, some would say impossible to do, because they are contradicting themselves, a bulk routine requires increasing your caloric intake and cutting requires reducing it.

However, the suggestion has been made trying higher protien and just barley enough carbs, but this is still not garaunteed

What is the best workout for fighters/grapplers
^when I was wrestling and training hard.. I found circuit workouts to be the best because it burned off more calories, as well as plyometrics.

- What are the most important aspects of training for fighters/grapplers
^I focused mainly on power and explosivness in my legs core and back... a lot of wrestling is pulling. Also flexibilty for fighters and grapplers is always an advantage. So I would put more of a focus on stretching then usual

- Are there any supplements that would be useful for a fighter/grappler?
I used to cut lots of weight and days I had matches I had to lose 3-5 lbs of water weight to make weight I had to be carefful which supplements I was taking... so no creatine monohydrate or thermogenic pills anything the retained lots of water. For me vitamin c vitamin b complex and fish oils were great. ( because vitamins retain water I would not take them on match days) whey protein to keep strength and reduce muscle loss and soreness... I would have 5 small meals a day and always made sure to carb up for training.
- Have you ever competed in fighting/grappling, or used a workout like the one described here?
I have wrestled for many years and made cutting weight and maintaing weigth as healthy as I could... in the off season I would bulk up as much as possible with muscle because the more muscle I had coming in the season the easier it was to take the extra fat off... and not lose lots of muscle... hope this helps
