I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance here.
I'm having a problem going deep when doing power cleans and front squats. I can go ass to the grass in front squats if I take a w i d e stance, however, that stance really makes me feel the exercise on my inner thighs, where as I'm looking for all around thigh development. Plus, not going deep on cleans is limiting the weights I'm using.
I think the problem is lack of hip and ankle flexibility. Are there certain stretches or exercise to do to work on this problem?
Background: 6'3", 222 lbs., long arms (great fror deads, crappy for everything else).
I'm not a power lifter or oly lifter, I'm just a "bodybuilder" who responds best to heavy weights in the big exercises. Plus, I enjoy lifting heavy. Thus, I don't do cleans or front squats year-round, I cycle them in and out of my routine for 8-12 week periods to give myself a break from deads and squats.
I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.
