The good folks at Cutting Edge Labs have selected me as one of the testers for TestFuel.

A little about me:

46 years old
6'3"
240 lbs meso (mostly)

I started weight training in 1974, for high school football, and, except for a few periods, (about 5 years total) I have never stopped.
In that thirty+ years, training methods and focus have changed many times, with many "next best things" having come and gone.

Prior to 2005, I had not used much in the way of supplements, so I am still pretty new to the supplement world. I do like beta alanine and I am still searching for a good test booster....maybe this will be the one.

my program is going to look like this:

Day one
Chest (3 sets each):

Bench or Dumbbell Press
Incline Press
Dips or Flyes
Pullovers

Day 2: Back, Rear Delts, Biceps, Forearms

Back (3 sets each):

Pull-downs
Bent-Over Barbell Rows
Cable Rows
Stiff-Arm Pull-downs

Rear Delts (3 sets each):

Bent-Over Dumbbell Laterals
Rear Delt Rows

Biceps (3 sets each):

Barbell curls
Alternate Dumbbell Curls
Concentration Curls

Forearms (2 sets each):

Reverse or Hammer Curls
Wrist Curls

Day 3: (OFF) REST

Sit-up Crunches
Hanging Leg Raises
Floor Oblique Crunches

Front Delts (3 sets each):

Dumbbell or Barbell Press

Side Delts (3 sets each):

Dumbbell Laterals
Cable Laterals

Triceps (3 sets each):

Lying Tricep Barbell Extensions
One or Two-Arm Dumbbell Extensions
Dips or Machine Pushdowns

Day 5: Calves, Quads, Hams - 30 sets

Calves (3 sets each):

Standing Calf Raises

Seated Calf Raises

Quads (3 sets each):

Barbell or Machine Squats
Hack Squats

Leg Extensions

Hams (3 sets each):

Leg Curls

Stiff-leg Deadlifts

*Some of the weight that I work out with is:

Bench 235 lbs
inclines 200

pull downs 120 lbs
cable rows 120- 150 lbs

curls 45 - 50 lbs

barbell press 150 lbs

squats 200 -235 ( I dont do heavy squats, just more reps)
deads 200 - 235

I started the TestFuel yesterday afternoon, taking 2 about 1300 and 2 more about 1600.

Today will be 1, first thing in the morning, 2 after lunch and 2 after supper.
According to the bottle, I should continue this way for two weeks, then go to 2 caps twice a day for 2 more weeks. After that it tapers down for the next four weeks.

Yesterdays workout was a day 2 session
Day 2: Back, Rear Delts, Biceps, Forearms

Back (3 sets each):

Pull-downs
Bent-Over Barbell Rows
Cable Rows
Stiff-Arm Pull-downs

Rear Delts (3 sets each):

Bent-Over Dumbbell Laterals
Rear Delt Rows

Biceps (3 sets each):

Barbell curls
Alternate Dumbbell Curls
Concentration Curls

Forearms (2 sets each):

Reverse or Hammer Curls

Today is an off day. I have 2 acres of yard that I push mow for cardio...that will be today.

Stay tuned

This was yesterdays workout,
Abs (2 sets each):

Sit-up Crunches
Hanging Leg Raises
Floor Oblique Crunches

Front Delts (3 sets each):

Dumbbell or Barbell Press
Front Raises

Side Delts (3 sets each):

Dumbbell Laterals

Triceps (3 sets each):

Lying Tricep Barbell Extensions
One or Two-Arm Dumbbell Extensions
Dips or Machine Pushdowns

and this was todays

Barbell Squats
Hack Squats
Bench Press
Incline Press
Dips + 25lbs
Pull-downs
Push ups

Yes this doesnt exactly follow my plan, but I will not be able to work out for 2 days due to other obligations, and I felt good, so I worked some extra in.
I work shift work, so alot of my workouts are governed by how I feel at the time. I can trudge through a workout anytime, but when it feels good, I really hit it.

Probably when I work out again, I will do a chest/arm combo. (if I get a flow going). If not I will just do chest.

The dosing stays the same as the past couple of days, nothing really to report except some vicious night sweats, which may or may not be from the TeastFuel.

Just a little update.

I am thinking seriously about changing my workouts to a 6 day a week type thing, with each group worked twice a week. I have used this type of thing in the past and it has worked well.

I will flesh this out as I go along. As I stated before, many of my workouts are governed by how I feel anyway, so any plans that I make are little more than just a guideline.

I have been staying on the 1-2-2 dosing schedule.

Today;

bench press 10 x 235
10 x 245
10 x 255
10 x 235

rope pull downs 10 x 90 (4 sets)

dips (weighted 35lbs) 2 x 10

incline press 8 x 200 (4 sets)

push ups 2 x 20

TestFuel 1 - 2- 2

During the workout, I felt strong and pumped. Dont know if that is the TF or not.

Now for an editorial.

Many people in the bodybuilding/weight training community tend to place little faith in test boosters.
I think that either they have never tried the right one, are too young to realize any benefit from it, or are too out of touch with their own bodies to know when something is working.

I, personally, feel I have had good, if not great, success with several different kinds of test boosters. I wont go into them now, because this log is about TestFuel, but lets just say I have a good feeling about this one.

and thats all I have to say about that.

today

bench press 10 x 235

push ups 2 x 20

I have never tried Leviathan and probably won't because I dont like my stims mixed with anything.

These are some I have tried:

Blue-up (stim free) ..... some gains in mass, 7 on a scale of 10
Tribestan ..........zero noticed effect 0 on a scale of 10
Fenotest ............Zero noticed effect 0 on a scale of 10
IGF-2 (sample ) ..... starting to work when I ran out of sample
Tribulus (stand alone)... I have tried many. Some I felt worked some I felt did not.

Activate...I think this is good as a stand alone or in combo with any test booster. I felt like it decreased in effectiveness towards the end of the cycle.

Rebound XT...just made me feel lethargic, didnt notice much else that I could attribute to it. (was stacking with Activate at the time).

Testofen.....decent gains...I like it when companies throw a little
B-6 and ginseng in the mix.

TestFuel...I have been on this for two weeks and I think it will be a keeper. I have been on a 1-2-2 dosing protocol and today shifted to 2 caps twice a day. I'll stay on this for 2 weeks then taper off some more.

Overall I think TestFuel (so far) and IGF-2 are the best for me.
Testofen and Blue-up are decent and any of these stacked with Activate is going to be better.

There are more that I have tried, but these stick in my mind, either because they worked well or failed to work at all.

About ten years ago I took some stuff called trihimbulus..(cant recall who made it) Basically it was just trib and yohimbe mixed together. I liked it at the time, but I dont think it is produced anymore. Like I said, these days I try to keep my stims seperate from my other supps, so I probably wouldnt use it anymore anyway.

Today was an off day.

Yesterday :

Wide grip pull downs 4 x 10
bent over barbell rows 4 x 10
-Close grip pull downs 4 x 10
-Seated close grip cable rows 4 x 10
-Barbell curls 4 x 10
-hammer curls 4 x 10

Felt pretty good. Still feeling strong, even on days when I dont really have the energy. (due to night shift).

Meant to weigh today and forgot. Looking in the mirror, though, I can see some leaning out.

So far I like it.

These are some I have tried: Cool, thanks for the reply. I think I'll check this stuff out in 8-10 weeks when I'm done shedding some winter weight. Reps when I recharge!

zootalors
05-11-2007, 02:55 PM
today was
-Presses behind neck 4 x 10
-Upright rows 4 x 10
dumbbell clean and press
squats

then about 1/2 hour of sun salutations to celebrate the end of another night shift.

weighed in at 239 today so that is holding steady. However, I must confess, during night shifts I sometimes do not maintain a good diet. 3 mornings I had mcdonalds sausage egg mcmuffins (they may be killers, but they taste great), plus some chips and other stuff. I would call the week a 70% good diet week. If not for that, I probably would have dropped a couple of pounds.

Oh well.
tomorrow is a chest workout....looking forward to it.

wooo CHEST Tomorrow. Nice job zoots

zootalors

5/12 was chest day
no workouts on Mothers day or the day after

tuesday was
-Squats 4 x 15
-Straight legged deadlifts 4 x 10
-Leg extensions 4 x 10
-Standing calf raises 4 x 15
-Seated calf raises 4 x 15
pretty well spent after that so I took today off.

Tomorrow will be chest again, with liberal arms and back thrown in.
(this is because of all the time off)

I have increased the weights on everything a little. I dont usually move up very quick...I feel that has helped me avoid the shoulder etc injuries of a lot of other older guys.

My body weight is holding steady at 240, but I feel like I am losing body fat and gaining muscle mass. Nothing huge, just my perception. Looking better in the mirror is my main goal.

yesterday was chest, arms and back.

today was squats, deads and 45 min of sun salutations.

allergies are kicking in so intensity is down a little. Temporary thing.

my apologies for the posting lapse.

Workouts have continued, albeit at a much reduced intensity, due to allergies.
This year is the worst I have had for a while.

My bodyweight is staying steady at 240 and weights lifted are the same.

I am on vacation next week....no travel planned so hopefully I will be able to hit hard by then.
Until then, I will keep plugging away, doing what I can.

zootalors

I'm back

Today I finally felt good enough to work out.

I started with a compound movement that starts with a clean and jerk, to a military press lowering to a press off the back of the neck, then a squat, then back to a military press and then lowering to the floor.
I did 3 sets of 10 @ 135 lbs.

Bench press..went kinda light
4 x 8 @ 225

pull downs

4 x 10 @ 130

alternate dumbell curls

4 x 10 @ 40 lbs

25 push ups.....elevated feet

I felt like that was enough for today
I felt little or no loss of strength, and my energy was good. I think some of this could be attributed to the TestFuel. I continued to take it, even though my workouts were mostly limited to yoga. (thats all I felt like doing).
The allergies seem to be slacking off and from experience I think I will probably continue to feel better as the days wear on.

Body weight has remained steady, however I am experiencing some hair loss on my head and hair growth on my ears, in my nose and on my back....oh wait....that started a few years ago...never mind.

Had a couple of days off, due to the death of a close friends son. Back at it today though, pretty much the same workout as the last.

good energy, felt strong and wasnt ready to quit when the time came.

body weight still 240...havent checked body fat but have some leaning out in the mirror.

The rest of the week looks pretty good as far as working out, I'm looking forward to it.

zootalors
06-02-2007, 11:52 AM
today

bench press 10 x 235
10 x 245
10 x 255
10 x 235

rope pull downs 10 x 90 (4 sets)

dips (weighted 35lbs) 2 x 10

incline press 8 x 200 (4 sets)

push ups 2 x 20

and the day before that

Pull-downs
Bent-Over Barbell Rows
Cable Rows
Stiff-Arm Pull-downs

Rear Delts (3 sets each):

Bent-Over Dumbbell Laterals
Rear Delt Rows

Biceps (3 sets each):

Barbell curls
Alternate Dumbbell Curls
Concentration Curls
yesterday
-Squats 5 x 10-15
-Leg press (very heavy) 4 x 10
-Straight legged deadlifts 4 x 10
-Leg extensions 5 x 10-15
-Standing calf raises 5 x 15-20
-Seated calf raises 5 x 15-20

according to the scales, I have gained a pound, but the view in the mirror looks leaner to me.
I have moved up about 10 lbs in all my lifts, with good energy and a general feeling of strength.
I dont notice any super pumped feeling, but I didnt expect that.

I am in the tapering off phase of the product, but I dont feel like anything is missing.

zootalors

Winding down the test...taking just two caps per day.

I have continued my workouts as outlined in the first post.

Overall I have seen some change for the better as far as muscle definition, my body weight has stayed the same at 240, and my bf% has dropped about 2%...according to the calipers.
My lifts have gone up a noticable amount in all lifts, with some going up more than others.

I have some experience with test boosters and would consider this in the good/better category. It didnt really work as well as I had hoped, (few things ever do), but it did work well enough for me to see that it was working.

What works for me might not work for others and vice versa. I would add it to my list of approved supps along this line. (Zootalors autographed line).
