This is just my way of moving my log on the main keto page into this forum. To read the little bit before this go to http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2400731
Anyhow, just finished up my cardio for the night. Upped the intensity to 3.0mph on the 15.0 incline. Did 30 minutes as planned.

Awesome! Will do. I'll be alot more active with it in the summer. I have 8 projects/papers and 2 tests within the next week or so I'm pretty tied up at the moment.
It's taking almost every ounce of my energy to study, and get through my workouts and cardio. I'm almost using these busy times as a test to my dedication to it all. I've passed week one with flying colors.
The Director

Its hard to study when foods always on your mind though right? looking at the watch to see when you've got to eat again and all. But it shouldn't be hard, just eat before studying, and chew some sugar free gum, it should help.

Will do! It's about a 2 hour drive so its not too horrible.
My carb ups arent as "clean" as some peoples on here. I love spaghetti, so I tend to eat 8oz of it every carb up and I make my own sauce with splenda as the sweetener, so it could be much much worse. I tend to eat white potatos too.
On a side note, I hopped out of the shower and decided it was a good idea to put on a pair of the 36 jeans I bought a few weeks ago. Much to my surprise they fit almost perfectly! They are a little tight in the quads moreso than the waist, but I have large muscular legs from being large for so long.
Thats all for now, I'll be around later tonight!
The Director

Spaghetti is a great carbup food man, its best whole grain sure you know, but its a great food! Just gotta stay away from the alfredo, and use the red sauces, lol.

04-28-2007, 12:24 PM
Oh yea, its all about the marinara. lol
Carb up is going well, had some baked potatoes, some spaghetti. My "cheat" was a bowl of lucky charms.

A few thoughts...I've been cutting since my birthday in February. Thats been 11 weeks. Its been quite productive, and I want to take a diet break for the next 10 days. I know this journal is young but its chronicling everything I do. Diet breaks are part of this.
Basically I'll be eating maint on a TKD style thing for the next 2 weeks, while keeping my training pretty much the same. Minus the depletion of course.
Its just a way of keeping my metabolism optimal, before I drop cals back down on the 11th. I've toyed with the thought of doing UD2.0 after that, but I'll probably just go back to what I have been doing. Its worked for 15lbs of fat loss and I dont see any real reason to change it until it stops working.
And yes I'll be posting here daily. No worries.

Ive done that 2week thing, Ive eaten without counting calories, and worked out, the muscle gain was great, the waist size wasnt =).
Keto's done well for you eh? 15pounds is great, how many inches off the waist?
ronz0r
04-29-2007, 01:36 AM
1.5-2 inches...1.5 during carbup, 2 w/out water weight.
I'm big on Lyle McDonald, and he says you shouldnt cut for more than 12 weeks. Thats why I decided to take the break.

your body will tell you when its time. just like training every 10-12 wks
you should take a week off. many don't and suffer ,they start thinking
i'm going to lose muscle if i don't workout......wrong overtraining is often
not noticed by novices until they plateau,so what do they do.they start
a new routine...do they rest nope, big mistake. same as diet, take a small break..maybe 40-40-20 , tkd, or thousands of other diets out there. in
2 weeks back to keto to kick start another 12 weeks......DAVE
ronz0r
04-29-2007, 08:24 AM
Yea, I'm due.
I've been irritable the past couple weeks, and havent been sleeping well too. Those were big factors in deciding to take a break.
I hate the idea of not lifting at all. Lyle suggests 1 full body workout/week to maintain muscle, and keeping cardio 30min 3 times a week. I'd like to be able to keep my routine going though...but maybe I shouldnt.

Thanks, It really works better being a college student. I find keto foods to be more cost friendly than more conventional foods.
That being said I'm eating all the left over chicken breast and rice before I go home next week...I miss my bacon and eggs...lol

05-01-2007, 06:59 PM
Oh, It was nice! Got to visit with the family for a bit, toss a baseball with the little brother a while. It'll be nice to be home for summer, and do that stuff consistently.
I also got a chance to go to work, and visit with everyone there. I've worked there for 5 years now on and off...and its amazing the relationships you can build with people...even at a grocery store.
Also, I went minigolfing and to the batting cages for a little bit on sunday with a group of friends. I was standing there, and one of the girls we were with was like "Dont you think Ron is getting hot. I mean wouldnt you hit it." She then proceeded to tell me how much better I look now, and how my cheekbones are more defined etc. Shes engaged, and I dont know whether to take what she said in jest...but it was still nice to get a compliment lol.

No worries! This diet break is killing me...but I know I need it. I was mad irritable, and not sleeping. I've slept like a baby this week, and my mood has been great despite preparing and taking finals.
Next week is take no prisoners. I'm contemplating whether I want to stick with what I did feb-may...or make a new plan.
I read lyle's UD2.0 and thought of trying it...but I'm a little fatter than he recommends. 18-19%. He says not to do it till 15%. I'm curious what it would do to a fatter person. I have the time to dedicate to it starting next week.
I'm debating it.

A little outline again on what I'll be doing from May 7th-August 6th.
Calories 2100 on off/cardio days, 2400 on lifting days. Every other Friday I'll eat 600-700g Carbs with my 150g of protein...eating about 3500 calories.
Workout schedule 2 week cycle:
Week 1
Sunday: 45 min Cardio
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Back/Core
Wednesday: Chest/Shoulders, 30min Cardio
Thursday: 30min Cardio
Friday: 30min Cardio
Saturday: off
Week 2:
Sunday: 30 min Cardio
Monday: Chest/Shoulders
Tuesday: Back/Core
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Cardio 30 min
Friday: Depletion/Carbup
Saturday: Off.
This should allow me to drop a solid 1-2lbs a week, and keep my muscle.

Well I'm back in the game today. Feels good to be eating normally again.
Surprisingly I weighed in at 203.2 this morning. During carbups I usually gain 5-7lbs. I ate carbs for an entire week, and I was expecting to be in the 207-208 range.
My waist was 40" so I gained a half inch there...probably due to some water retention, and possibly a little bit of fat gain.

05-07-2007, 02:09 PM
No weights today, I'm playin football tomorrow afternoon, and I dont want DOMS in my legs for that! I want to DOMINATE lol.
I'll probably go downstairs and get in 30 minutes of cardio after my exam though. Either that or find a game of basketball. Something though, I don't want to be a complete waste.

No worries I'm all over this.
I've actually decided to toss the scale this summer, I'm just gonna bust my ass in the gym and eat right. I dont care what happens on the scale, I know I'll get results if I put the work in.

Little update...some stressful stuff and some good news. Apparently we're moving...and there isnt enough room for me where we're going. Thats awesome! I'll probably end up staying with my mom or grandpa...which is cool. Just wasnt happy to have it all sprung on me at once.
The good news...I got a second job. Doing work around a farm on days when I dont work at the grocery store. 10 bucks an hour cash...and all the calorie burning fun of working on a farm! :D
Been working out with my friend from the marines too..so my workouts have been different than listed.

update:
My diet for the past 3 weeks has been atrocious. Moving in with my mom proved to be more of a transition than i thought. That and she found out she had a tumor in her breast. I've been stressed out hardcore...and when I get stressed out I eat for some reason :(
Oh well...she got it taken out and all appears to be well. Fortunately I have been lifting but not eating what I should have. I bought all kinds of keto goodies, and am getting back on the horse tomorrow. I'm disappointed but optomistic I can get back in the groove.
I should be posting more frequently as things are slowing down for me finally.

Thanks! Good to be back. I wish I coped with stress better...but it could be worse I could go to drugs or alcohol. '
Work was intense today, I unloaded about 200 40-70lb boxes of meat onto carts then worked it out. I'm exhausted. Going to my friends house to lift after a short nap.
