Best protein you can get, you can have this company design your protein any way you want it. But make sure they sweeten it or it taste like ass. I reccomend the splenda

Hey be careful when you buy. If you call, make sure they are 100% sure about what you want. They messes up my order twice by putting the wrong flavor in once and no flavor in another time.

what are their prices like and what do you reccommend?

Big Cat
10-22-2001, 02:07 PM
Prices are good and you can get a ton of different mixes. Its like the best place to buy protein if you know what you are doing. Compose your own anti-catabolic fast/slow blends and so forth. Not to mention get raw powders for the cheapeast price per pound anywhere.

Great - unless you have to pay obscene shipping costs to Europe :(

Big Cat
10-23-2001, 06:53 AM
I don't even know if they ship to Europe ... :(

I usually have someone order it there and then ship it to me as a sample or as a present so I don't have to pay the import taxes.

D&G
10-23-2001, 08:05 AM
They ship anywhere in the world but when I looked into it I was gonna be spending more on shipping than the protein itself.

I'll you one thing. When you buy protein thats not made in large quantities it can taste pretty funny. It not a pleasure to drink any more. The P Fac. is good for as much protien as I go through. Hey since we are on the subject have any of you tried this bovine serum stuff?

Big Cat
10-24-2001, 01:46 PM
Seriously, when they say limit to 2.5%, they mean it. I mean yuck that **** has to be the foulest thing I ever put in my mouth.

Ice Man
10-25-2001, 06:52 AM
LMAO!

It must taste bad. The product review says drinking it by itself is next to impossible. I bought some lean gainer and they said that tastes ok but when I first tried it I was like, " Ill! What the hell is in this stuff!" So I know the serum is horrid!

Big Vince
10-25-2001, 11:29 AM
BIIIIIIIIIIIIG bump to the **************! i love their stuff and it has helped me put on a ton of muscle. like how i can mix-and-match my own choices of proteins and make my own shakes. just be sure to keep an old tub of nlarge or some other big tupperware-like container around so you don't have to reach into that huge bag every time you want a shake, lol!

Serum tatstes like crap, so does the glutamine peptides. I noticed if i mix the stuff with some milk tastes much better than with water, even the flax powder tastes very seedy. My custom mix puts me instantly to rest and i get a weird throbbing in the center of my forehead, whats this??

what do u recommend from ************** BigCat...well what mixture that is

Ice Man
10-26-2001, 06:37 AM
One good mix is a blend of proteins. Casein, Whey, Egg, etc... this give a release over time. But they also have a lot of premade formulas that may benifit you. Just check it out and see which one fits your needs.

Big Cat
10-26-2001, 09:14 AM
I like a mix of 50% micellar casein, 15% egg protein, 20% ion-exchange whey and 15% hydrolyzed 520 whey. That gives you a very good fast/slow combo with a wide range of amino acid profiles.

Ice Man
10-27-2001, 02:04 PM

I used the pro sorbin and the night formula which is actually good. Bovine taste like ass but works well gained 8 lbs mass in one month with strict diet. mixed fatty supplment with prosorbin twice a day good results.

Fruit punch flavor - not recommended.

I made a formula that had 20% Hyro 520 and glut peptides 5% sweetened with spelenda (sucralose). Tasted horrible.

Anyone know what flavors are best to mask some of the foul ingredients?

Antonio

Hey Big cat!! When do you take that mix that you like from protein factory?: 50% micellar casein,15%egg protein,20%ion-exchange whey and 15%hydrolyzed 520 whey.
Is it good for btween meals, postworkout, before bed....?Could you please specify?.
Thanks bro

Big Cat
11-03-2001, 10:30 AM
Actually at any time, that's why I like it so much. I just prefer a bit more casein before bed, but any other time that's what I like to use.

Chocolate, it has the largest content per gram compared to the other tastes.

Ice Man
11-03-2001, 03:17 PM
Yeah but the chocolate takes away from the actually amount of protein per serving. I DON"T think you should get banana it didn't taste like any thing at all.

Big Cat
11-03-2001, 03:51 PM
Of course it does, that's WHY it masks the taste. Try anything, the less of the protein it takes away, the less you get per serving and ultimately the less it masks the taste. you can always buy one and then add a scoop of same-flavored ice cream when you blend it.

Ice Man
11-03-2001, 04:14 PM
Yeah yeah yeah.....

I know thats why it masks the taste. I just want him to understand the trade off is all.

Hey someone tell what you have in one off your biggest meals of the day. I'm just trying to make sure my small meals aren't too small or too big.

For such a big difference in price, is the Micellar Casein that much better than the Caseinate?

"just be sure to keep an old tub of nlarge or some other big tupperware-like container around so you don't have to reach into that huge bag every time you want a shake, lol! "

I know what you mean Big Vince, the first time I ordered 3 separate formulas of vanilla. There was so much powder in plastic bags that my Moms thought I just got a shipment of coke, lol. Anyways, I'm about to order again and today my formula looks like this:

Flax 10%
Malt 10
Mic C 10
Cass 10
Egg 10
Soy 10
CFM 20
WPC 20

I'm trying to go economical, this formula is only about $5.75 / lb. So for 2 lbs. it's only about $11.50 compared to ridiculously priced name brands at $30 or higher.

One question though, will SOY increase estrogen?

They recommend adding Aminogen to your protein combination. Is this a smart choice, cosidering it is only 60 cents per pound?

I made the mistake once not specifying flavor and i got plain stuff tasted like puke. I had to try to flavor it the best i could since then i never forgot.:)

Just get them to surface mail it - yeah we're at the bottom of the world so it take around 7 weeks to get here but its like way way cheaper - you just have to be organised. Its still cheaper the the off the shelf stuff and from what everyone say here the quality is better.

Anyone tried "frostein"yet?

Nope haven't tried it yet. I just found the website yesterday and I couldn't believe that I could mix and match any type of protein. I am so excited. No more buying off the shelf, this stuff is way cheaper.

Prelude, how do you like that mix so far?

Here's the formula I'm considering:

35% Invotech (Whey Isolate)
10% Hydro 520 (Whey Isolate)
15% Whey Concentrate
20% Egg White Protein
20% Caseinate

This seems like a decent mixture of slow and fast digesting proteins and comes out to ~$7.43/lb with Aminogen added, which is pretty reasonable when compared to mass-produced stuff.

The formula I ordered was pretty good. Your formula also looks good. On mine, I'd like to add a little bit of carb and fat. Some people say that it helps digest the protein.

I recently made and recieved my first order from Protein Factory. While checking them out, I had noticed a few errors on their web site (spelling, grammar) but I wasn't buying an English & Composition 101 guide from 'em. The only real problem I saw was that their own "Night Formula" has instructions to take right before bed, and has a tip which says to take ZMA right before bed too. That conflicts with what I know about ZMA and calcium consumption. No biggie though.

I wrote to them and got an answer back within the same day. When I phoned my order in I found them very helpful and courteous. I was pleased overall with the company and with the products.

I purchased two items: dextrose and a custom blend for night time: 40% calcium caseinate, 30% milk isolate, 30% cfm whey isolate; with splenda sweetner and banana flavoring.

I'll definitely be ordering again.

That's usually the case with a lot of companies. They sell good stuff, but they rarely know it themselves. If you know what you are doing ************** is a godsend. If you have no clue you just end up with prefabricated stuff that's no better than what's on the shelves at GNC.

"How to spot the fake Micellar Casein
As far as we know, **************.com is the only company willing to sell straight micellar casein. Any company claiming to sell Micellar Casein you should ask to see the original manufacturers invoice."
This is what **************.com had to say about their micellar casein. Is it true? Are they the only ones to sell straight micellar casein?

I used proteincustomizer.com. Pretty much the same thing but a little cheaper. I have always ordered from them and been very pleased every time. Strawberry is fantastic. They even label the bag with all your ingredients.

Just made a mix of:

30% Casein
20% Egg
10% Micellar Casein
10% Milk
10% WPC Whey
10% Dextrose
10% L-Glutamine

All for $5.82/lb! Beats the %^*# outta GNC!

It also seems easier to customize and calculates the price at the bottom of the page. Just my 0.02

33% whey, 33% milk isolates and 33% egg white protein with the fruit punch flavoring. It tastes like that new Nectar protein! You don't need a sweetner, but if you decide you want one go with Splenda. :)

Splenda is Sucralose. Splenda is not 98% malto, it has some in it but not enough to where it would bother a diabetic.

Splenda most certainly is not exactl what you think, it is about 1/2 of 1% sucralose, the rest is typically an even split of dextrose and maltodextrin, labeling laws let you round down (even if to zero) if less than 1/2 of a gram therefore what you see on the label. There is no way in hell splenda could be pure sucralose, that stuff is so powerful that if you had a one gram packet of it pure you could sweeten hundreds of protein shakes. Not to mention the cost would increase many hundredfold.

no i dont ever bother with splenda, I get all my flavor powders with pure sucralose already mixed in there in the right ratios. I usually get my pre sweetened flavors in 100 lb bags, they mix in large amounts to ensure the proper distribution of sucralose due to the small amounts needed to sweeten to the right level. IMO sucralose is great, splenda is a bad joke
