View Full Version : first competion
I am 32 days out from my first body building show. I am 34yo (female) 5'6" 130# and 7.8% body fat as of yesterday. Posing is going good. I'm tolerating the diet. I'm lucky I can remember my own name. I am eating 1800 cal/day so at least I am not to hungry. I weight train 5 days a week with cardio 6 days a week with 3 days double sessions. I'm starting to feel a little drained. I am working with a nutrtionist to help with my diet. Everyone is telling me this next month with be the hardest and I can see why.
My trianer feels I will be ready to do a show April 17th so I may do that one and one on the 24th.
I have my weight and bf checked every monday so I will update at that point. Wish me luck!!

Wow your body fat is soooo low for so far out....
I would be interested in knowing what sort of diet your nutritionist has recommended for you?
I am now 23 days out. This week my bf remained 7.8% lean mass went up 1.5lbs. My weight is now 131.5lbs. My diet changes every week now. I am still on 1800cal per day this is my diet this week.
7am 4 egg whites, 1 cup cooked oatmeal, 1tsp flax oil
10am 4oz chicken, 1 cup brown rice ( a little salsa)
1pm 10oz chicken, 2cups romaine lettuce, 2 cups green veggie, 2 tsp flax oil
4pm 4oz chicken,1 cup green veggie, 2 cups roamine lettuce
7pm 6oz chicken,2 cups green veggie, 2 cups romaine lettuce, 1 tsp flax oil
I do cardio mon, tue, wed, thur.fri am 45 min & 30 min on sat & on mon, wed, fri eve I go back and do another 30 min. I weight train 5 days a week.
I am pretty much brain dead come 4pm not to mention I get angry very easy. I am seeing little changes all the the time now. Posing is getting better. I am more relaxed. These next few weeks will be tough. I'm feeling drained all the time right now.
I will keep you updated and thanks for the support.

Wow thats a lot of chicken! :)
Keep up the great work!
I am now 16 days out.
My body fat is now 7%. I am now doing double cardio 6 days a week. My nutritionist started my on yohimbie and ephedrine and cut my calories to 1685 from 1800. I am feeling tired and little weaker at this point. This is an experiance to remember.
Feeling really stressed at this point. Easter does not help. All that candy and junk food around. I can see where these last 2 weeks will make or break you. I hope I can make this happen. Today is my day off (i will pose later) and I really need the rest. I know I am bitchy to every one but damn this is tough. I see my nutritionist on the 14th and the 19th for last min prep.
The count down is on!!
Good luck!!!
You can do it, only a few days to go!
Keep your smile on your face because you have accomplished something truly amazing!!!!
You are such an inspiration!

As of Monday i made it to 5%bf. I am carb depleting now and feel tired all the time. I am anxious to see the results when I start carbing up. It is amazing to see the changes my body has gone through over the last 12 weeks. It will be nice to eat normal food again!!

I didn't even realise women got to 5%.... that sounds dangerously low to me.... I was unde the impression most people competed at 8-10%? I would love to see some pics! Best of luck for the last week or two.
It's over!!! I made it through my first competition. I have to say I really enjoyed it, I took second in the womens open which I am am very pround of. The woman who took first also took first in the womens masters. She looked great and had much more experiance so I cant complain. It was a great time.

Congratulations :)
I would love to see some pictures if you wouldn't mind sharing!
Well, my second show is complete. It was an OCB show Spirtit of America in Mashapee Mass. (cape cod).
I took first in the womens novice class. There were a total of 5 novice girls. And I took first in the womens open/over all. There were only 2 women in the open class. It was a great time a very well put on show. Very well organized, small but very good. It was a great experiance. Now I plan to rest a bit and concentrate on putting some size on so I can do it again bigger and better!

Wow that's great. I wish I had known, I could have taken a road trip down from NH!
Just curious, what type of cardio were you doing for contest prep?
Cardio pretty much sucked. It was double sessions 40 min each until the thur before the show. That lasted about 10 days. Before that it varied. It was at least 6 days a week some days twice. I think that is what wore me out more than any thing.
