Ok, as of today I am 4.5 weeks out till my first show, basically i have some minor cravings for food (mainly **** i never liked before like fried chicken and sweet buns), and a small amount of strength lost, but there is one problem, Most of the time, outside of my school work, all i think about is my show, what poses i am gonna do, what I am gonna do when I am done with this diet, and when my next meal is. I go on this site like 3X a day now lol, it used to be like 3X a week. Is this normal or am i obessing.

First, congratulations on doing your first competition. It's normal to be excited and devoted to your contest progress.
Don't let it dominate the other aspects of your life, or eventually everything will suffer.
Stay balanced and stay in control.
good luck

if your show is all you can think about, then your mind is in the right place =)

. . .there is one problem, Most of the time, outside of my school work, all i think about is my show . . . Is this normal or am i obessing.
Danny, yes, you MIGHT be obsessing . . .
If you are even ASKING then you, yourself, are suspecting it. TRUST YOUR GUT ON THIS.
Now, MANY dudes will say "oh no, that's okay." Well, it IS "normal", but if it is absorbing your mind than it may not be the IDEAL situation.
Let me explain.
When one obsesses, they are often agitated. Or they are nervous. Or they fretter time away on things that are not TRULY important. Or they can't relax. Or they change EVERY subject with their friends and family to the object of their obsession, so that no one else can get IN to your thoughts, and nothing ever really gets OUT of your mind . . .
All sorts of things.
And it can make you feel a little imbalanced.
Any of this sound familiar?
Well, this imbalanced, agitated state is the WORST THING for a competitore.
In my opinion, anyway.
When I coach, i try to get my athletes CONTENT with their method. By "content" I do NOT mean that they should "settle their efforts". No no ? KEEP STRIVING is also VITAL.
What i MEAN by "contentment" is just that: a sense of CONTENTMENT. A relaxed take on things. Not obsessing or worrying or over-thinking. Just being excited, yet also being content.
Then getting back to REAL life in between their pre-contest work.
I want you to think about contentment.
Because there is a DIRECT ladder from a state of contentment to winning . . .
Let's climb it for a second:
When one is truly CONTENT with their situation, then one can find PATIENCE with thier situation.
If one is PATIENT, then one can stay FOCUSED easier.
If one can stay FOCUSED, then one can get more WORK done.
More WORK means greater GAINS.
More GAINS means more accomplished GOALS.
And if a GOAL is to be competitive ? or even to place well in a contest ? then you will have achieved SUCCESS.
So, you see, CONTENTMENT is on a DIRECT collision course with SUCCESS,
I KNOW you want success. You would not be working so hard ? so SUPERHUMAN hard ? if you did NOT want success.
And so therefore, find contentment. I can help with this (it is my job as a coach, after all), but ultimately you will need to ask for help from MANY people around you. Some may not even BE bodybuilders. Locate those whose peace of mind ? whose sense of personal contentment ? you admire. Explain things to them and see how they advise you.
In other words let some of this OUT.
Then, some new, equally important things can get IN.
And you can maybe not feel so "discontent" with concerns about obssession.
GREAT question, by the way!
