Hey all.....

Brought the 'ol computer to try and give those interested an inside look at the Arnold...I'll try and give you the play by play as It comes my way, in as close to real time as possible.....

It's late wed nite...tough to sleeep due to the fact that our bodies are on west coast time......

I look better right now than I did on the Ironman stage, sharper, tighter, and about 6 lbs. lighter......

Itinerary for today:

7a.m.- woke up/ 20 min. cardio
7:30- meal 1 (oatmeal/ steak 12 oz.)

packed the rest of my luggege ( dont forget the trunks, music, color.....!)

11:00 a.m.- Flight to Chi-town/ Colombus

checked in at Doubletree Inn/ GREAT rooms, full kitchen, microwave, fridges......suite! (get it, suite...?)

all our bags came through....whew!

showered, exfoliated, final shave, still getting color off from photo shoots.....last shower for a few days.....

took some digital photos for comparison sake/ reference ( I'll post them If I can figure it out....)

hitting the sack.....

start first coat of Olympic Tan tomorrow a.m.

Hey Bob,

Bob,

This is cool. I appreciate you taking the time to do this, especially during the hectic time of contest preparation.
Good Luck to you Bro!

I can't be there, but I'm getting the Arnold on Pay Per View live, so I'll be watching!

By the way,

What is Olympic Tan? Is it different than Pro Tan?

If you have a second to answer, I'd like it if you would detail how you do your contest color.

I always start with Pro Tan the Wednesday before a Saturday show keep applying several coats each day until it's dark enough. Is there a better way?

Thanks man,
and GOOD LUCK!

Hey Bob, glad you made it. Great weather, eh??

What days and times do you plan at being at the BB.com booth. If you have a set schedule, I'd like to plan to be there when your're around if possible. Oh, good luck.

BTW, what do you mean by first coat of olympic tan? Do you have to apply that stuff like you're a 81' Pinto?

THURS. March 4th.....

Early a.m.-

DAMN I'm sharp.....everything is working as well as I could hope for. I'm sharper right NOW than I was on STAGE at the Ironman...

Going "old school" with the next 2 days...no tricks, no giant carb up, nothing radical....just going by the mirror.

No idea where my weight is....don't care either...If I'm guessing it's around 243 give or take.

first meal: 3 packets oatmeal, 1 tbsp. PB, 10 oz. filet mignon
no water restriction today, drink while you can....!

Q and A-

GUNZ-

LOL! Yeah, they gave me a few "cookie" coupons for after the show....then I got a call at the front desk that my Credit card wasn't going through....long story short...the desk guy kept punching in the wrong ex. date!!! All is well...

BOB S-

Olympic tan is a new tanning product on the market that I'm endorsing....basically the same as Pro-Tan except they (me) made a few changes with the formula...took out the "green" color, changed the alcohol PH level for better absorbtion....comes off MUCH better/ more even, than Pro tan

I'll be at the BB.COM booth as much as I can barring getting meals and being tired, stop by the booth, they'll have anidea where I'll be and when....

Thanks,

I just talked to Bob on the phone. Says he's sharper than he was when I looked at him in the gym mirror this past Tuesday. Well, Tuesday in the gym, he was already sharper than he was on stage at the Ironman. I'd say 30-40% sharper. So, I honestly expect a HUGE change in how Bob looks from contest to contest. And he'll be even sharper in San Francisco next week.

SCOTT: I don't think about placings at all. I concentrate entirely on how the athlete I'm helping looks. Is he ready to step on stage?

Of course, I know Bob wants to qualify for the Olympia again, so, of course, I want that for him. But, for the most part, I just want to do what it takes to get Bob in shape. Bob wanted to try a few new things during the carb up process for the Pro Ironman. So, didn't really help Bob for the Ironman (because I was concentrating on myself), but I am now for the AC and San Fran.

Since you asked, I EXPECT Bob to be in the best shape of his life.

7:00 P.M. ( EST) as I'm posting this:

Well, not much to report for today except eating a few meals, and laying around relaxing....acrdiois out, so is training...( If you aint got it by now, you aint going to get it in the next 48 hrs.....!)

Ran into pretty much everyone in the hotel lobby this morning....I always like the Arnold, it's like a yearly reuion for us. Especially for those of our brothers and sisters overseas......

Talked with TP earlier...all systems are go. I wlll change NOTHING from this point on tonight, if it aint broke....DON'T BREAK IT!

8:00 p.m.
Big meeting tonight...we get our numbers, sign in, recieve gifts from numerous sponsors, get to see everyone's "game face"......word is that kevin is definately OUT of the show....you never know with Kevin, I'll report it after the meeting to be sure.....

Trying to get a hold of King/ barbara to go down to the meeting....

Hopefully Tracey Greeenwood and Alan got on the next flight as theirs was cancelled from Deleware ( thats what you get for living in Deleware!)...mechanical problems.

catch you after the meeting

Just got back from our meeting.....13 guys in the show, no Kevin. King is focused and ready....and beat tired!! Looks like he's in great shape...

My number? LUCKY 13!!!!! Save the best for last, I say....LOLOL!

I'm next to Greg Kovacs...should be like watching Beauty and the Beast!

getting ready for another coat of Olympic Tan (#2)

Expo starts tomorrow...I'll do my best to be at the booth in between meals/ tanning/ preps....

Doesn't look like Quincy is going to make it here...He's stuck shooting on the set of a new Travolta flick....he was going to work the Booth for BB.COM....Ironically, It was ME that got him the job...would've taken the part myself, but they wanted a big Black muscular guy...I'm a master thesbian, but I think it would've been out of my range....!

Because of the PPV, all the routines MUST be at 3 minutes or it will cut off at the mark.....you WILL get deducted for pointing to the crowd, hand to the
ear, raising the roof, etc. They emphasise, they want ROUTINES!!!

I'm posing to a song called WAR from Rocky 4....should get some brownie points from judge #2....Sly Stallone!

catch up with you guys in the a.m.

1 more meal to go for the night

Just woke up...man I look good, everything is right on track.....might even be sporting a few new lines in the glutes!! Imagine that.....NEW lines????

just need to duplicate yesterdays eating/ etc. and all should be right in the world...

won't be cutting water until around dinner time today, water will be in full until then.....cut it too soon, and you'll end up looking like a hockey stick with hair on stage!

Expo starts at 11:00 today. Womens fitness at 12:00 sharp right on the expo stage...many friends in it...I'll be rooting for Tracey Greenwood to place in the top 5...tough class.

gotta go...Brenda is doing Traceys make-up before we head out to the Expo....it will be a beauty parlor in here in t-minus :30 minutes....( aahhhhhh, right at home!!)

Talked to steve Blechman yesterday at the athletes meeting..wants me to consider writing a column for his magazine (MD)......

later, I'll give the low down on the womens event and whats going down in the BB.com booth, etc.....should look like Barnum and Bailey just rolled into town , as usual........

Just got back from the Expo...what a madhouse!! People everywhere...tomorrow will be busier, I'm sure.

spent a little time at the BB.com booth..crazy as usual...we had Myself, Brenda, Lauren Powers, Kathy Johanneson, Christina Lindly, Carmen Garcia, Chris Cormier stopped by for a little while to sell some pics....

lots of free stuff....Thnaks to Steve Cardillo from CARDILLO belts for giving me a new belt to use for my shoots with my name on it...anyone wanting a quality custom belt ....get it from Cardillo, they're the best!!

Conditioning is holding, just need to dry out about 5% more to hit 100% ( or damn close to it...!) Biggest problem right now is a cold/ flu i'm fighting....nasty cough, hurts in the deep chest when I cough....I can suck it up if it just holds off from getting REAL bad for one more day...

Water intake is DONE....no more h2o until after the prejudging tomorrow...water, water, everywhere...and not a drop to drink!

seen most of the boys kicking around...can't get a good look at anyone...Marcus is HUGE as usual, seen Nasser, he was in good spirits...big as usual....caught Chris Cook, congratulated him on making the cover of the new FLEX mag. ( way to go brother!!)

putting on final coat of Olympic Tan....

CJ gave me some new posing trunks...one pair is a purple/ glitter color....the other looks like a disco ball....I KNEW I should've posed to Stay'in alive.....!

Anyone looking for custom posing suits...CJ is short for Cynthia James ( Florida area) ALL the guys wear her stuff........

A few more meals to go before trying to get some sleep....homework is done.

catch you in the a.m., before I leave for pre-judging ( 10:30) starts at 12:00 noon..........

Just woke up.....WAIT Ti'll they get a load of me....! Don't know if I've hit the elusive 5%...but I'm damn close.

Good thing I look like a Million bucks, cause I feel like a hundred! Glutes have sharpened up considerably...ain't going to look like Coleman or anything, but certainly much better than I've ever gotten them before....

Kept it pretty much the same the last few days...just ate a bowl of oatmeal, no more food before pre-judging...must keep the stomach as flat as possible...

haven't had drink of water since about dinner time last nite.....tell you what, If I had to choose between $1000 and a glass of water right now....it isn't even close....!

T-minus 3 hours to go....all competitors will meet down in the lobby at 10:30 to head over to the auditorium...it's like the Dawn of the dead marching through the streets....none of us have the energy to do much of anything right about now.....

Thanks for the nice thoughts....but top 5 was not to be.

Sorry, I couldn't update more often yesterday, was a little busy between the Pre-judging, working the Expo, and the night show.....

11th place-

thought i looked pretty good, certainly better than the Ironman...tougher line-up, for sure!

unfortunately, they didn't give me a whole bunch of callouts in the Pre-judging so getting more comparisons wasn't an option...

I'll let the pictures do the talking, when I see them

I personally, had Chris Cormier winning the show, Dexter in 2nd, Jay in third...I think that was the general consensus among the other contestants....

interestingly, Chris got beat in the SYMMETRY round....and lost by ONE POINT to win the show...you figure it out.

I'll put out a whole article on the backstage/ inside scoop later this week....

off to day 3 of the EXPO, be at the BB.com booth...

Regardless of your placing, you looked great. It was an extremely tough lineup. I agree, I thought Chris should have won and I had Dexter in second.
