Hello everyone, before I go any further I just wanted to thank everyone for reading as well as for any feedbacke given in advance, just incase I miss ya'll later on.

Recently I've been putting together a gym for myself, family, as well as my gf, who I actively workout with. However, with school as well as work, we don't have much time to devote to working out as regularly as we're both accustomed to, which of course means for less time in the gym.

Needless to say, that's where the idea came in that we'd put together our own little mini gym for the both of us. Well we came onto the topic of buying an exercise bike but neither of us really know where to go with this.

We've looked at a few different bikes at some local retailers but the issue comes in (as you can probably tell from the title) whether or not we should get a recumbent bike, or an upright bike.

If there's anyone that can shed some light and perhaps point us into the right direction, it'll be greatly appreciated. Any advantages, disadvantages, or problems with one type or another, or even personal experiences. Once again, thanks to anyone and everyone that takes the time to read this.

Looking forward to the responses.

-Jeff

It's purely preference. One isn't better than the other in terms of physical workout. Id suggest just going to a store and try some out and then decide which you like best. I prefer the recumbent myself. Heres a useful link:

Why not buy a pair of real recumbent bicycles that you can ride together outdoors when the weather is niice. When the weather is bad you can put your recumbent on an indoor trainer like the Tracx i-Magic or Fortius and go on a virtual tour though Europe, South Africa or Colorado Rocky Mountains.
