-the 3" thick bar JMs are a KILLER on the tris!!!
-Pullovers were a BIATCH, kicked my ass, felt great
-DB overheads(where 2 hands on 1 DB and push overhead behind ur head) were the finishing touch on tris....killed me!
-spotted and got spotted by the giant black dude Ive mentioned a few times doin huge bench and such....2 of us spotted him as he did 135x20 twice on skull crushers(straight bar), 225xreps, and 315x a few reps  gonna be liftin with him at least a few times a week

NOTES:
-overall another kickass workout..lower back was a bit sore to start, so didnt go real heavy with DLs, also forgot sleeves so didnt do zercher DL bc Shawns bars will tear you up
-curls felt easier than before, biceps maybe finally growin??
-DLs were so-so, nothin special today...tried them out just in socks for the first time, not as bad as I thought it'd be, kinda like it, worked on just dropping and pulling like hell, instead of getting setup for a longer time like I used to, and keeping head up
-Shrugs were with straps( bc of rough bar, and grip tomorrow) and done explosive/power(?)style like pain's
-Axle powercleans are a BITCH! thick bar powercleans are harder...especially to flip at the top...but i found them easier to get to the top?? odd....
-rev. curls felt good, got a good burn goin
-overall pleased with the workout, anoter huge sweat built up and kick ass session, 3 more PR's!

Now that right there is one awesome workout, you realy hit that **** hard, espicially those deads and shrugs. How were the power shrugs proppy? Nice cue you took from me bro :D. You and I are realy going to have to battle this race for 500 out man, we have to pull out all stops for this **** man. Notes looked good, good workout grade, what else can one ask for. Keep up the good work Proppy.
thanks bro, workouts have been AWESOME since I started prep and see the contests ahead and know I can win. These people are NOT machines...they ARE men
power shrugs felt good bro! i liked them :)
the axle is 2"+ thick and completely smooth...makes powercleans a BITCH! esp bc i didnt use anything bigger than a 25, extended rom

3/3 Legs and Grip
short and quick, busy ass day, plus took some stuff off bc doing more events saturday than usual
12" Box squats: 45x10, 75x5, 115x5, 150x5, 185x5, 225x2
Farmers DL(weights are per hand, obviously): 80x5, 170x5, 220x5(rep pr), 260x0x1/2x1/2
Standing Calf Raises: 135x10, 165x10, 195x10
NOTES:
-short and sweet
-box squats felt crappy at first but got better, although no stronger...and damn 12" is low
-farmers DL went good til 260, just didnt have it left after pull yesterday and squats today..would get it up(usually my struggle) and then my back just wouldnt take over...DEFINATELY a result of it being tired from yesterday...my back fresh will have NO problem with that weight
-standing calf raises only ahd a 30second rest between sets, and is a 1-pulley type, not 2 like most...so 165 here felt like 300 some at home :p
-overall not bad...got a HUGE sweat goin again and pushed myself hard, jsut didnt get enough results today, but it was short too, and had to brace my knee bc it sucks still, and lower back was screamin from yesterday
Overall Grade: B-

Punish the body and if it won't do what you want, punish it some more. Let your body know who is in charge.

Short and Sweet Auxiliary Day
Axle Overhead Lockouts: 35x5, 85x5, 125x5, 175x3, 200x2(PR), 220x0
High DL Lockouts: 225x5, 365x5, 405x5, 495x5
Low DL Lockouts: 455x3, 505x3, 550x2(PR!)
NOTES
-Axle lockouts were seated, from top of forehead...felt solid, 220 was close
-High DL lockouts were done on 3rd hole on power rack, from about mid-thigh up, maybe 6" ROM, switched to low after bc these felt too short to get alot out of
-low DL lockouts were done from ~21inches or so, just above kneecap. felt strong on these, even for DLing 2 days ago, and back being sore...i could've SO broke my 18" dl PR today
-overall good short auxiliary workout...600+ WILL die on May 1 if not before

3/6 EVENT TRAINING
short and sweet, goin to our firemens ball tonight, semi-formal dance, dinner and open bar(damn cutting). Taking the model I dated all last summer :D will have pics next week!
Warmups:
Squat: 45x15 : Alt. DB curl 20x10 : overhead 45x10 : DB bench 35x10 : CG Rows 75x10(slow)
Husafeldt Stone Lifts: 184x3, 217x3(PR!)
MEDLEY: 184 stone x 75 feet, 205 farmers x 75 feet....didn't keep time, but these were done very well and quick!, esp stone
Tire Flip: 650lb tire x 2, 650x2(PR!!)
(just did these back and forth, tire was full of water, and got slick after a flip or two)
Conan's Wheel!!!: 375x1, 550x3/4, 550x1(PR!)
(on the 550, the bar was set too high for me, i could barely get it off the ground..so we reset, then got an easy revolution)
NOTES:
-overall very good day, very good for my mentality as well
-knee hurt pretty bad today, but pushed thru with my brace on
-Husafedlt lifts were EASY...****ING atlas stones are all mental.....was just ground to hug, then put back down, next rep etc...easy stuff, i like this event
-Medley went ALOT better...didnt do tire at the end bc it was a dif. size tire than the medley, so worked the first 2 parts....stone I FLEW with, and farmers were solid
-Tire flips were awesome...the 650 is one of the really tall ones like in WSM, like 5 feet sittin on its side...i like these ALOT more than the smaller 500's and such...i actually ENJOYED this tire...biggest tire I had done before was a 550 for a few flips, got this 650 for an easy 4 or 5...gotta love my exponentially strengthening back :D
-Conans was fun...its alot easier on the forearms with the real thing, but i need to work biceps more...my problem will be keeping it high and tucked, not letting it slip...but I can do a revolution so yay
-all of this wasn't pushed too hard except medley....we filmed some of it(anyone on FI knows the guys are filmin today to make a strongman training DVD...i had to lift and leave before they started the PR day, hence the stoppin at 1 revolution, etc...)
-I feel alot better about May 1, and will be riding with a few guys frolm my gym who are competing too...so well all be cheerin e/o on..should be a fun time kicking everyone in my divisions ass and winning
Overall Grade: A+
^^ even though wasn't a huge exertion day, hit PR's in every event(medley was unnofficial bc no time, but I know in my heart and mind it was, it was alot better), and did so much good for my piece of mind, its an A+

Gets a bit repetitive saying good workout. Can't wait to see what numbers you crush during the real thing.
IMPORTANT CORRECTION
the conan's wheel I did saturday, I found out today, was actually loaded with 550lbs, not 450..so I completed a revolution with 550conans :D
coulda went more, but like I said, was just tryin it out bc of time, not maxing....at May 1, my conans is 500...which means I can ALRADY go at least 1.5-2 revolutions most likely
w00t
John Promise

That was a nice surprise. We're looking for five or more revolutions on May 1 though. Know you will be good for at least that.

3/8 PUSH
Incline Bench:45x15, 95x10, 135x5, 150x4, 155x4
Axle Push Press: 85x10, 125x5, 150x5, 160x3
3" thick bar JMs: 75x10, 105x10, 125x6, 135x4(PR)
DB French Press/Overhead Ext: 40x12, 50x12, 60x8, 65x5
Cambered Pullovers: 35x10, 55x10, 65x10(reps PR), 55x15
NOTES:
-overall good workout...worked out with the guy i go with once in awhile..good motivation, esp after being beat at inclines
-inclines were ok, steadily startin to come around
-push presses again were weak with leg drive..damn knee
-Jms felt stronger today...can def. tell the tris continue to improve and have made huge strides over the last few months! stretch marks continue to grow too lol
-Overhead DB felt better today, 65x8 was old PR, today was 65x10
-pullovers brought a huge sweat again, but felt good
-got a good sweat, not the best workout of contest prep, but solid
Overall Grade: A-

Pretty nice choice of exercises today! I bet that was fun
What do you think you max on incline?
And damn 550lbs on the conans wheel! How could you not tell the difference between 450 and 550 :D
lol bc i had never done it before, only zercher lockouts :)...and im glad ive been doin those low, i had to adjust it down bc im shorter, and had to get a solid quarter squat in to get 550 up
max incline? hmm...prolly ~170-175
and yeah, this is a fun setup i got goin :D

I'm only 5'7" so I would be at a real disadvantage at strongman :(

If you keep up your pace of improvement over the next 53 days like you did the last 53 you ought to blow the competition away, especially since you'll be ready for the events.

workouts have been going GREAT so I damn sure hope so...every single thing I am doing is for a specific purpose and has purpose to an event May 1st....plus I am mentally more prepared than I ever have been for anything in my life...daily, numerous times I go thru winning, events, etc in my head....its CONSTANTLY on my mind...moreso than school, moreso than girls, moreso than friends, everything. i fall asleep thinking about it, daydream about it all day, and go thru it over and over and over. I will be as physically, mentally and emotionally prepared as I have ever been for anything. I for the first time BELIEVE going into a show I can, will and should win, and that this is MY time. I have been working my ass off in and out of the weightroom, and like Herb Brooks said in "Miracle", "they have the better team...they may beat us 9 times out of 10...but not tonight..not this night...this night is OURS...this night WE are the greatest hockey team on earth." I think I utilize inspirational quotes and movies like that, rudy, rocky, etc moreso than anyone else I know
I've never wanted anything as bad as to go there, dominate, and roll on to nationals.

Axle Curls: 50x10, 70x10(PR), 60x10, 65x10
NOTES:
-worked out with Steve again, same as yesterday
-Deadlifts were ****ty today, just had dead/sore legs from god knows what? quit early to save myself for zerchers
-Hise shrugs were difficult to get down...its a small ROM...definately feel them though...butdidnt hurt as bad as made out to be...i know ill be SORE tom. from these...heres the link before anyone asks :D
http://www.cyberpump.com/preview/keith005.html
-Zercher deadlifts were another KILLER...put the weights on 2 laying 45's to raise it a bit, not flexible enough to get down to the floor yet, used as much lower back as I could to simulate atlas stones which is these' purpose...definately a taxing exercise, esp on the hips!!
-axle curls were interesting, but felt ok, good burn goin
-overall very good workout, mostly thanks to the middle two...deads and curls were just normal

Kick work bro! Deadlifts looked pretty damn good to me, repping my max bro easy! Really diverse training man. Love watching these PR's fall!
thanks bro, belt felt weird tonight too, needs tightened from cutting...did this all with only chalk hehe
might go for an 18" PR sat depending how sore I am
and within a VERY short time your max will be well above that!

thanks bro, even with 2 plates under it...it was a sumo stance(duh), and i was goin WAY down to get it..first few were like low squats, REALLY killin hips, but then got form down and used all lower back to lift it, which is what i want it to do to work for atlas stones...185 wasnt that heavy, just physically taxing on sore legs...coulda done 225+..cool partwill be 300+ from the floor
but yeah, thanks bro! i wanna be the king of all deadlifts...reg, 18", zerhcer, farmer, bavarian, etc

Yeah man, sumo style kills my hips too. You ever do a sumo deadlift and strain so much, and then drop the weight and your hip flexors relax so fast its a weird feeling?
I had a feeling 185 wasn't your limit...300+ soon enough!
And man, you're a pretty damn good deadlifter. Only way i can beat you is body weight ratio :( Damn you haha keep up the awesome work man. Before every session think to yourself the promise and dedication you are setting, and how you cant mess up...seems to help me anyways

EVENT TRAINING 3/13
Warmup: alt db. curl 20x10, GM 45x10, DB military 20x10, DB bench 35x10, CG rows 105x10, BB overhead 45x10, squat 45x10
Conan's Wheel(1 rep = 1 full revolution): 300x1, 300x2, 390x1, 480x1, 550 x 1.25, 710 x 0.25(PR), 710 x 0.10, 550 x 1.75(PR!)
Farmers Walk: 105x150, 195x50 <-grip warmup
MEDLEY: 184lb Stone Carry x 75ft, 205 Farmers x 75ft, 500lb tire x 70feet in 2 minutes(pr)
Field Stone Loading(to 55gallon drum): 184x6, 184x6
NOTES:
-Great day...even got some pics :D
-warmup felt good, body was fresh, ready to lift
-Conans went very good..550 is more than my contest weight, body was good to go, its breathing that stops you...the 550 sits on ur chest, u cant get a good breath... tried 710 for fun after Shawn finished 1 lap for first time, got it the first 1/4 turn, suprisingly lol. then did 550 again for almost 2 laps
-Farmers was a grip warmup, felt heavier than usual bc of the heavy conans
-Medley went EXCELLENT...only took 28 seconds between start and when i got to the tire, that includes lifting the stone from floor! Tire gave me trouble 1) bc of cardio, but moreso 2) after about halfway down the tire was full of water, that came out...made the ground slick, was having trouble keeping my feet under me and grip on the tire..or else woulda finished in under 2 minutes...at contest want to finish in under 1minute all 3
-Field stone loading replaced atlas stones bc Shawns start at 250, then are all over 300...did the 184 field stone instead to get the hip/back workout of an atlas stone...these went well actually
-overall pretty damn pleased with today! got some nice comments from Shawn at the end too, me, rob and shawn are all improving and moving along well

farmers walk implements 255x100feet is the best ive done with farmers
done farmers holds with 235/hand for 39seconds last may, its much higher by now
static DB holds i've done 100s for like 2 minutes and like 10-15 seconds

hehe, my fingers are heavily trained like grip...do alot of CG rows and such HEAVY with JUST using fingertips...usually I can outlast any of my competitiors holding weight in my fingertips..when I did 100lb DB for 2:15, it slipped to my thumb, index and middle fingers only at about 1:40.... lol

men's lightweight conans wheel is 500lbs for the record...done for 257'8".
it wont count bc ill do 450 as a p/f/m light, or 500 as a heavy, but from my calculations(well see if theyre right, i asked on the strongmna forums what our conans exact distance per revolution is) thats 4.5 revolutions....if so, I plan to beat that in May  like I said, wont count, but for my piece of mind it will :D

But it did remind me of a Friday the 13th parody we filmed back in college. Jason chases this kid Steve. When Steve locks himself in a closet, Jason takes off. My brother shows up, knocking on the closet door. "Steve. It's okay. You can come out of the closet now." Steve comes out of the closet, throws his arms around my brother, and announces "I admit it. Pumping Iron(original VHS and new DVD)
Ronnie Coleman the unbelievable
Ronnie Coleman - other vid
Lee Priest - a blonde myth
Hugo Girard VHS
Svend Karlsen DVD
Dorian Yates blood and guts on CPU
and some other short random clips on computer from kevin levrone, gunter, matzarro, etc, as well as ALOT of powerlifting and strongman clips

i only have a ****load of clips on comp and pumping iron lol. Arnold is one funny ass mofo in the movie. Does ronnie talk in his dvds? I've heard his voice before, and it no way matches his body.. Kind of like bonds.. and tyson almost.
yeh
ronnie talks,...more screamin than talkin, but he talks alot...if i remeber right he basically narrates, been awhile since i watched honestly
svend is easily the best I own though

used to go to Golds for a year, nice place, but i get in free the other 2 places bc of connections

Yes I agree!!
Yardie 3:16 says I just hit a push workout
Barbell Push Press: 45x15, 95x10, 135x5, 160x4, 175x1
Incline Bench: 45x15, 95x10, 125x6, 115x5, 75x50(rep pr)
Barbell JM press: 45x10, 95x10, 115x10, 135x6( reg barbell pr)
DB overhead ext: 45x10, 55x10, 60x7
NOTES:
-@ home for spring break, @ CP Sports..VERY small gym, more of a sports building...anyway, went with my friend who belongs there...the thickbar they had last week was MIA, and my cuz Schoonie used to lift there...last year. SO was a bit dissapointed but improvised
-push presses sucked..no explosion at all..legs still dead from the weekend. managed to tricep out a 175 though, within 15lbs of my barbell PR
-Inclines felt weak today...just wasn't feelin them, plus need work for endurance with tire flip, so decided to do a high rep set with 75...bashed out a grueling 50 reps
-JM press have been doin with a 3" bar, with is much nicer on the wrists than a standard barbell...stopped at 6 with 135 bc of wrist, not triceps
-DBs killed my tris..taking my shirt off was a challenge a min ago lol
-all in all decent workout I guess, but just felt non explosive, and weak...usually new lifting environemnts, especially wher im the biggest and strongest, pushes me...o well
Overall Grade: C+
PR total: 22
NOTE: I forgot to email myself my PR notepad...I keep ALL prs for EVERY lift in a notepad file on my computer..came home for break and forgot it, so I may be a bit off all week, will go back and correct sunday as necessary...usually JM are done with thick bar, so this im 95% sure is a bb pr, and i know ive never done a 50rep set on incline yet

Proppy-damn nice ****! It looked very good, awesome lifts. Incline repping looked badass, some real dedication. I remember on the FI bench routine after all my work i had to rep like 45+ for 12 reps and i nearly missed the last rep! But when im fresh its obviously nothing, but you get the point :D
magnus broke Nathan Jones' arm

Power Shrugs: 155x10 -30sec rest-> 230x10
NOTES:
-worked out at Flex Gym, where I worked out last year and used to work, not the same place as yesterday
-Decided to try my event training day warmup, I think ill keep doin this...sweatshirt on, ALL back to back, gets a good sweat goin and me ready to lift
-18's weren't bad bc i was still sore from saturday...185lb stone loads and 700lb conans wheels WITHOUT A BELT will keep ur back sore for a few days hehe, so cxant complain i didnt get 600
-525 was a 20lb raw pr, and 550 was a 15lb strapped pr
-had 4 ppl watching me while I did these, amazed at the weight, talkin to me between sets, and about me as I listened to my mp3 player between sets hehe
-hammer curls went well, no complaints, worked some endurance for tire again
-Power cleans felt LIGHT today, just had trouble at the chest level of getting under the bar in time...190 was 1" away from going easily...it was light til I had to flip my elbows down and get under it...thatsmy sticking point
-power shrugs were so close together and short bc gym was closing
-all in all very pleased with this workout

18" was from the rack, which is alot harder than a box
typically someones 18's on a box are ~50lbs higher than in the rack bc of weight distribution
got a video of 525, and a pic of 550, just gotta find a host for the vid

yeah, im happy with it, but it wasnt 600....
im happy bc i did it on a sore, non-fresh body..but coulda done better fresh
i wasnt dippin at all on PCs hehe

thanks bro!! 550 is still big weight, its just a step to a goal though
i figured itd be easier...425x2 came up EASY and smooth, almost like a speed weight(not THAT fast, but u get the idea)
but yeah, 600 will be mine on or before May 1

-Push presses felt heavier, as theyhave been every week :(
-Inclines like third set I realized I am STRONGER with them if I pause on the chest than touch and go...WTF!?!?! so I did the last 2 sets every rep paused for 1-2 seconds
-JMs feel stronger weekly...155 was solid, but close to a 3 rep failure...not quite there

workout was still pretty decent bro, you still managed a PR. The stronger with the pause than the touch n go is very weird though...=/ Your next workout ought to be pretty good though I have a feeling your in for a big day pretty soon.
thanks bro...yeah, not sure...maybe from training westside before and always pausing with pressing movements? not sure, even then its weird...but i was dying on reps, and if i paused on the chest, it just flew up...even training partner commented on it *shrug*
hopefully I have a good day soon....axle presses been feeling less and less confident by the week :(

Workout looked like a decent one, but damn I hate those damn calm ones, they really suck man. WTF is up with a puased incline being better than non? Maybe the fact that if you just touch and go because of the angle there is poor balance, and when you pause it allows you to control it? Hmmmm. Great job though on the PR!!

You need another hobby for distraction.

Don't worry about it. This is one poor workout (that didn't even look that poor) in a sea of awesome workouts. One little speedbump. Even to yardies does this happen :)

hmm, i see we're in a state of emergency...meh, time to post a workout
3/24 LEGS and GRIP
Squat: 45x15, 95x5, 155x5, 205x4, 275x3, 325x1, 365x0, 385x0
Zercher squat lockouts: 135x5, 185x5, 225x5(PR!)
Leg Press: 260x15, 395x15, 440x15, 510x15
Standing Calf Raise: 90x15, 160x15, 180x15, 225x15
DB holds: 115 x 1:17(PR!)
NOTES:
-better workout, with my old partner at the campus gym
-squats went ok...365 was almost up and my back was sore from yesterday and wouldnt help lock it out..failed due to lower back, SO DAMN CLOSE, not a pr anyway, tried 385 a la mendleson
-zercher squat lockouts were weird...we set the bar on the pins about lower thigh high, and would get under it(comes out to about bottom of an ass to grasss squat position) and squat it up...VERY taxing on the quads! got some nice looks and compliments on these :D
-leg press was done explosively, felt solid
-standing calf raise, this is a weird one they have..225 here feels like the entire stack other places..its loaded with freeweights
-DB holds, first time using 115's and easily cleared 1:15...prolly coulda kept going, but hadnt filed my callouses down and didnt feel like ripping one, so let go..coulda gone 1:30 plus with chalk and no fear of losin a callous
-overall good workout, much better than the other 2 this week
Overall Grade: A-
PR total: 28

Looks good. Lot of high reps almost like someone else on the board.
OK, everyone I talked to said less volume, less gym, more events, so proposed for the final 5 weeks of prep which starts monday, developed this with the help of Amatuer_Wrestler, and thanks to him and xeyedbear from FI for the idea:
warmups NOT included in these numbers, exercise x working sets
MOnday PULL:
18" DL x 2
zercher DL x2 (every other week)
bicep work x 3
axle cleans x 2
dl lockouts x 2 or bavarian DL x 2, alternating weeks
tire flip
field stone load to 55gal drums
TUE: PUSH
axle push press x 3
incline bb x 2 or incline DB x 2, alternating weeks between the 2
DB overhead ext x 2
3" bar JM x 2
pullover x 2 (every other week)
axle LO x 2
WED LEGS and GRIP
squats x 2/3
leg press x 3/2(explosively) -> squats 3, leg 2, then vice versa the next week
zercher LO or Conans
farmers walk
stone carry
sled drag
calves x 2
sat events
if at Tonys in Illinois: Atlas stones, axle, 18" DL, farmer/tire/keg carry medley
if at Shawns: conan, axle, 18", meley, field stone loading
whatcah all think?? this will be less volume, higher intensity

nice workout proppy, way to rebound from the last two! Your workout plan looks good, and I'd agree with doing a lot more event work in the final weeks.
I'd also prolly take it fairly easy the last like week or so, then you can really go all out at the comp.

Could you PM me the routine you were thinking about for me?
Lesser volume and higher intensity seems like the way to go. Strongman events are not in my forte, but I'm going to be following you until the event. This should be interesting.

EVENT TRAINING
5 weeks to Victory
warmup: Alt DB curl 20x15, DB bench 20x10, DB military 20x10, squats 45x10, cg cable row: 105x10 <- done as one big circuit as usual
Conans Wheel: 450 x 2lap
Farmers Walk: 205 x 75ft
Medley: set 1: 217 stone x 60ft->fell
set 2: 217 x 75, 205 farmer x 75
Viking Press: 180x3, 180x10(PR)
NOTES:
-woke up feelin sore and crappy, dragged my ass out there a half hour late
-was late so only got one go-round with Conans, went so so, an easy 2 laps to warmup
-farmers was a grip warmup, easy, legs were dead though
-medley SUCKED...hips are dead from low zerchers...got the stone up first set, was RUNNING with it bc im used to going very quick...well I never gt the stone high enough on my chest, was at my waist, and this threw me off balance and i fell/dropped the stone....second set was SLOW as hell, just was dead in the hips and such today, wasn't happenin...
-Viking Presses went ok...it was set high bc everyone besides me in the world is tall, so I could only get an inch or two of leg drive bc it cant touch the floor...so these were done with VERY minimal leg drive...3 was a warmup, 10 was about a max set for as strict as they were
-overall blah workout, very happy to be lowering the volume, so im not this sore anymore for events

Very nice workout man, you got a PR, thats good!
Sorry i havent been posting here lately. BTW, awesome 18" pull you did man, very nice
pic of viking press in case anyone doest know
you pick it up, basically push press it to lockout overhead, get a down signal, bring to jaw level or lower, then go up...once its set down on the ground, you're done....like I said, today was set high, so I couldnt dip much at ALL or itd have hit..so was alot more strict than it would be if i could dip

Not too bad considering you were already fatigued. Better to get those kinds of workouts out of the way now instead of saving them for the real thing.

NOTES:
-18" sucked...dunno what happened, but 500 didnt wanna go today, lower back wasnt into it..
-stone loads felt better than ever, went very smooth, third set didnt even lap any of them just a smooth lift floor->barrel...these were done to a 55gallon drum, only chalk
-cross hammers felt good, both these were basically to failure, and done strict, biceps felt strong today! solid PR by far
-hanging knee raises were ab and grip, as these were done without straps, good burn in the abs

3: 555x0
Farmers Walk: warmup: 75x200ft, 165xDL
205lbs x 100ft ---> 75 feet in 13seconds, 100ft in 15 seconds)time PRs)
Atlas Stones: 220x1, 260x0
Field Stone Load: 245x1(PR!)
Pinch Grip: 50lbs x R(PR!) ; 60lb x 1/2 R
Vertical bar Lift: 72.5xL,R ; 135xL,R ; 180xR ; 200xR(PR!), 205x1/2L
NOTES:
-I am a person who plays to win, not plays not to lose. I made that mistake of playing not to lose last may, never will again. Every sport and thing I do, I play to win, agressively. Decided today didnt care how I placed with mock contest(no idea) and just took every warmup as a weight I could hit, then went for a PR...no bull****ting around with a middle weight to place better, etc...1 lift then PR attempt
-Log Press went well...hit 180 alot easier than last time...and MUCH easier clean, bicep work is paying off....200 both times got to the top of my forehead and stalled, jsut need a BIT more leg drive and I got it
-18" DL was done in the parking lot at Watseka before we went back to Tony's...we did that so local news could hype this summers contest...well bc of lot, they put plywood or wood of some sort under us to level the ground...well I DL without shoes...my first 555 was above the knees and getting to where it was close to locked out and moving up, but my left foot kept slipping backwards until it was i was so offbalance and about to fall off the platform I had to drop....i was spent after that
-Tony told me I'm definately related to Schoonie, b/c I definately psych myself up yelling at myself, but then after missing let out a gutteral scream at the bar, hehe..i take after my cuz :D
-Farmers went well for having sore-ish legs...did the 75ft in 13, which is good, then didnt care if I fell since I got that mark and just sped up thru the 100, hence the 15 for the 100...at May 1 I plan to finish the farmers in <10
-Atlas Stones went well! yay! Tonys jump from 220->260, so I got 220 to like a chest high platform pretty easily, just didnt have the hips left to get down to 260 and power it up...
-did field stone that was 245 instead, and powered that up..was happy to get it :D
-pinch grip was MUCH stronger than last time, was a pretty decent jump in PR
-Vertical bar lifts i LOVE....200 only got done by me and about 2 others, none of us hit 205...this was a 10lb PR for me and finally broke the 200lb mark!
-overall a solid workout, just dissapointed with 18's...was a VERY fun day with alot of regulars and a few new guys...I took ~20 steaks with me, others brought potato salad, etc and we cooked afterwards...i didnt charge anythng for steaks...and THATS how strongman is folks...a bunch of friends gettin together and pushin e/o to PRs, then making dinner together afterwards and bull****tin and laughin for a few hours....a ****ing GREAT time had by all...i LOVE THIS SPORT
