Today I am going to start a DC training program to see what this does for me. With some help from inside here I think I will be able to make a go of it. I just came off of a low weight high rep type of workout that I had been doing for 6 weeks and prior to that I had always done a Max OT program which really helped my strength. Time to change and from doing alot of reading and such I need something that will give my stubborn legs a boost. Not that widowmakers sound like a whole hell of a lot of fun, I think its what I will need to stimulate some new growth. Thats the plan anyways. I just came off of an eating binge while in Indy this weekend with my daughter eating sweet treats and all after dinner time as she was a pretty hungry girl after playing 3 basketball games a day at the AAU tournament. I will have to learn how to preplan my food for weekends like this now. Many more tournaments coming up. Chelsea asked me while we were sharing a tall chocolate tower of cake, ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream, how I was going to deal with her eating the stuff I can't have? I simply said "SUFFER" lol. Family is also trying to talk me into a competition the 2nd weekend in July. Lots will depend on how I look in a couple of months after eating clean but still eating alot as the DC plan calls for. There is a Natural competition in September down in Indy that I would love to do if it all works out. Time will tell. So stay tuned if ya like.....its gonna be a ride! :)

Yeppers joed....back again!

Thanks dbx...hoping it all goes as planned.

First workout didn't go to bad...just seems kinda low key right now compared to what I have done before, but I am sure that will all change within time. I figured this first few times will be jockeyin some numbers around til I hit the weights right with the reps that I need to hit.

Todays workout
A1
Chest : (2 warmup sets just to get things warmed up)
Flat bench barbell 185lbs for starters: 9\4\3\2 (need to increase weight) goal was 12-15 reps
DB Military press: 65lbs/5 reps, 55lbs/3/2 45lbs/3 Goal was 12-15
Skull crushers: 80lbs/8/5/3/3 (increase weight) Goal was12-15
Rack chins: w/50lbs/5/3 bodyweight/5/3 Goal was12-15
T-bar rows: 160lbs/8/4/3 (rats, forgot these were supposed to be straight sets)

Felt like a decent workout. Headed for home to suck down a protien carb PW drink...some rice and then off to the track for daughters 8th grade track meet where she smoked'em in the 200 meter :) Oldest daughter Chelsea has one tomorrow nite as well as Taylor again. Home track meet wins over...lol.
Guys that have the DC Training experience....feel free to jump in with any comments if they see anything that is outta whack! Steve has been a great help to me so far in getting things started and Pete's been there as well. Thanks guys!

Morning gang. Yesterday was a slow speed cardio day for me. 30 minutes on the treadmill and then off to some higher speed racing at the high school track meet. 8th grade daughter had one to but it was an away meet. High school coach already informed me that this one will be on varsity for sure next year as a freshman. Kid has some speed! Oh, I gotta tell you about the traditional last event race for this part of the state. They call it the "Fat boy relay" Its the discus and shotputters running the 4X100 and these guys have a blast and its absolutely hilarious. The girls have even started running it lately. One of our 'turtle-like' guys was going so slow the opposition guy from the other team passed him up running backwards. Even though some of these guys and gals are on the large side, its great to see them laugh and have fun with it.

Well today will be workout B2 day with biceps, forearms, calves, hams and the ever dreaded "Widowmakers" This should be interesting. Since its been nice out I have been walking to the gym, today I think I will opt to drive :D Just in case.
Happy hump day gang!!!

Thanks guys!

Yesterday was my B2 workout plan. Steve, all I can say is thanks for the warning on the widowmakers (that is now...yesterdays verbage was not quite as kind... :D)

EZ-bar curls RP for 12-20: 80lbs/7/4/3/3
Forearm was starting to pain me again on that.
Hammer curls 12-20 SS: 30lbs/4 (excruciating pain in the forearm...no way to get another set out)
Calves on leg press 15 reps SS: 490lbs/7/5/4/3
Hams SLDL 12-15 SS: 225lbs/6/6/5 (lighter weight til I make sure I work on form with stiff legs)
Squats widowmakers: 225lbs/6 reps, 185lbs for the widowmakers 17/3
My first thoughts as I am doing these were as follows:
At 10th rep: Who's MF brilliant idea was it to put widowmakers after SLDL's.
14th rep: OMG
15th rep: Sweet Jesus!!! What the hell is happening to my legs (they are bouncing and twitching under me.)
16th rep: legs are rocking back and forth....heel to toe (message going from legs to brain "Knock this **** off man")
17th rep: Quickly rack the bar until I can get my legs back under control (10-15 seconds, quick look in the mirror showed the look of a bugged eyed Don Knotts when he is bewillered)
Somehow manage to squeeze out 3 more reps (form was not on my agenda by this point!)
After re-racking the weights again...my first thoughts were "Who is the sicko peice of crap that thought this freakin torture excercise up?" (this is a much shorter and much cleaner version of my thoughts)
Normally I can feel the effects of leg day the following 24 hours. I was not up more than 3 hours and my legs are talking to me again. (Dumbass!!!!) Oh don't get me wrong, this is obviously what I need to stimulate growth in my legs (I am a real sicko now) and hope this all does the trick.
As for my forearm, I went right out and got me a pretty good elbow strap and man does that seem to help out. I have to get that thing healed up somehow. I think I managed to strain it doing Max OT type of training on forearms which I do not recommend. Its heavy weight and low reps. Fitty had a good point to stick to 8-10 reps and not as heavy. Oh well....live and learn.

Brian - sounds like you did the widowmakers correct...those are thoughts you should be thinking. Now the trick is mentally to do it again....now that you know what it is like, it will be tougher to duplicate next time. This is why the log book is so important...it is black and white...have to beat reps. weights, or both. 2 1/2 # plates will become your friend.

Good morning gang. Well I was gonna post my Fridays workout but the modem I have for my DSL is acting up, cable company is supposed to switch it out later today.
Great weather we had here over the weekend. 70's on Sat. and 80's on Sunday. I got a bit to much on Sat. sitting at a track meet all afternoon. We all pretty much got burnt. Went out for a run with the wife yesterday afternoon as she has been running for the past couple of weeks or so during lunch at work. She has actually stuck with it and I was amazed at her endurance that she has now. She never stopped once! I was pretty proud of her.
Chelsea's track team went to a Relay event with many schools in it. Coach put them in the toughest division this time. Was good to see them have to work out there to get position instead of coasting to first place all the time. Hopefully this will make some better times come out of their races. Daughter says all the time "Hey, were winning in most of the events" But they can run better I keep telling her. I always come back with what I saw on the back of a t-shirt once.... "The Surgeon General has determined that it is ok to Smoke your Opponent!" :D Taylor my youngest has another meet tonite....8th grade. She cleared 4'10 in the high jump at practice Friday!!! :)

We sure got alot done around the house this weekend. One thing I have to really work on is my diet on the weekends. I don't eat nearly enough. I get out of that routine I am in during the week and my eating suffers. I get so busy outside that I don't watch the clock or take time out to eat like I should. You will have to hammer me on that part Steve! lol Oh I do keep a log book...never go anywhere without it (usually...it isn't with me today now for some reason). 2 1/2lb plates.....uugghh. Thought I would never ever use them damn things. Makes sense though with this type of program. And Josie.....I know ya wanna see Steve in his thong....but please Steve....in your own thread! :D Josie, you can post as many of you in one as much as you want in here! LOL Hibby....feel free to do the same! Thanks for encouraging me in here sweetie!
Have a great day all!

I didn't get to yesterdays workout until after my daughter Taylor's 8th grade track meet. We are still awaiting word to as if she broke the 200m run record. She ran a 28 flat run for the 200m. To put this in perspective...last weekends high school relay event, our 2nd place finisher (a senior) ran a 28.1 for the 200m. So needless to say we were all screaming our lungs out when we saw the lead she had on the pack. Took first in the high jump again too! :)
Ok, enough child bragging for now.....lol.
Yesterdays workout. I am still havin a hell of a time with my forearm even with the strap at my elbow and had to replace my forearm work of pinwheels as I had picked with just wrist curls off the edge of a bench. I got forearm work in just without the pain.

EZ-bar curls preachers 12-20 RP: 70lbs/8/5/4 (could feel the forearm stressin)
Wrist curls: 30lbs/12, 40lbs/12
Calf raises leg press machine 15 SS: 450lbs/7/5
Sumo press hams 12-30 RP: 580lbs/6/4/2 (lower weight next time)
Leg press quads 4-10 + widowmaker: 670lbs/8, 580lbs/20 Oh those did me in! Thank God I had the ability to push on my knees a bit on the last couple of reps, I thought they were gonna fold on me.
Today is cardio day (after I get back from Taylor's other track meet today). Have to go order our new oven today also. Get this, we have an oven that is built into our kitchen cabinet (2 large drawers on the bottom, the oven, then 2 doubledoors above), wife walks by the oven and next thing we hear is "WHAM!!!" The oven door just drops open barely hangin by the hinge. It was old anyways and we knew someday we were gonna have to replace it. Found a nice convection oven we are gonna order! :) Plus pick up a new gas grill (yes, it crapped out on us too, when it rains it pours) We have to cook on something until the oven gets in anyways....lol. What a weekend we had.

My oven has been broken for several weeks, but they finally fixed it yesterday. My stovetop has been broken also -- both went on the fritz at the same time -- and we're still waiting for a part. It's a good thing they fixed the oven -- little B was starting to look hungry. :D

And yes, she did break the record!!! :) We are not telling her just yet as we want to see what this girl is capable of. Told her she needs 27.6 since she seems to shave a little off her time each time she runs this.

Oven is on order now....7-14 days til it comes in. Meantime figured i could use the grill....well, after years of rebuilding the gas burners and stuff I had to replace that thing even. So I not only bought a new oven, but a brand spankin new stainless steel gas grill. Man is it nice. All set for BBQ pool side parties now. All I need now is a small refer to plug in out there on the upper deck for cold beverages! :D

Yesterday was day 5 of DC Training.

Chest Incline BB press: 15-30 RP: 135lbs/10/5/2/2
Shoulders front BB press 12-15 RP: 95lbs/9/5/3 (boost weight next time)
Tri's Rev Grip BB press 12-15 RP: 115lbs/6/5/4/3 (I really didn't feel like I got much out of this, first time doing these)
Close grip pulldowns 12-15 RP: 160lbs/8/4/3
BB Rows 6-9 and 9-12 SS: 165/6 145/7/5

Cardio will be today.

Never having done reverse grip BB bench presses, not sure how this hits the Tri's, tried narrowing my grip and widening it, not sure what I am doing wrong on this.

Another rainy day here in northern Indiana. Pretty much rained all day yesterday too and we needed it bad. I did get the rest of my gas grill put together last nite, fired it up and grilled my lunch for today. Grilled chicken breasts of course :) I bought some nice big cuts of aged top choice sirlon steaks for us to all celebrate our new grill for supper tonite! My mouth is watering already.

If anyone has any tips for tricep work on the reverse grip presses, please let me know.

Spitfire-1
04-26-2007, 07:40 AM
Hey :)

I do reverse grip bench from the naval upward in a straight line, not the chest. I find it better on an "EZ" bar, its easier on the wrists.

Nice job with the workout.....160lb on pushdowns is strong!!

Mr. Someday
04-26-2007, 10:10 AM
A few points Brian....

Go to failure 3 times on RP...that's it, whether or not you hit your set rep range.

BB rows is one heavy set in the 8-12 rep range. There is no additional set with these or T-bar rows (if you use those at all for thickness).

On the reverse grip, just make sure yopur wrists are in the most comfortable position....width apart should be determined by comfort. Position yourself on the bench so you feel more of the movement in your tricep....have to focus here. Keep in mind this is also a chest movement, but considering you and I don't have one of those bulbous Arnold chests, tricep movements that secondarily hit chest (rev grip, close grip and dips) should be our primary tricep movements.

Thanks Steve. I will definitly remember that next time. 3 sets only on RP, straight sets only and good tip on the reverse grip BB for Tris. Just going to have to focus more on that one.

Thanks Barb! Glad your getting some good out of it too! :)
Oh the steaks were to die for!!! I sprinkled garlic over the top of them and seared them nicely. My one child that does not eat steaks much at the most of it.....lol I must have fixed 4lbs of meat and it was all gone.

Well, it wasn't to hard to keep the news from her. They never kept close tabs on girls track records at the middle school so they had to go back all the way to '95 (as far back as they could find so far). Since she is shaving time off everytime she runs, and knowing her determined attitude, we thought we would throw out a 27.6 number out there for her to hit. The potential is there and its a good way for her to push herself. I know alot of people don't agree with it, but I know my girl and how her mind works. So far she has been running at home after track practice just so she can hit that mark next week.

Today will be my B6 day which means only one thing.....WIDOW MAKERS  Wish me luck

Hey Brian,

Hope that heals up for you soon Ray. I am hoping that I get the hang of that exercise soon.

Figure I better post my Friday workout. Been so busy over the weekend I didn't have time to do that.

Incline DB curls 12-20 RP: 30lbs/9/4/4
Reverse cable forearms 12-20 SS: 60lbs/10 (lighten up next time)
Calves seated donkey 10-12 SS: 100lbs/9 (boy those 15 sec holds at the bottom start hurtin about the 6th rep)
Ham curls 15-30 RP: 50lbs/9/4/2
Squats: 225lbs/7 (1 more than last time) Widows 185lbs/20
Widows could be done without having to rack the weights as previous squat day, but still pretty rough. Will add 2 1/2lbs each side next time)

Got a call Friday from Lowes that our oven came in and could be picked up. Went and got that and installed it Saturday morning. Boy, just when you think its gonna be a quick job putting it in the cabinet...2 hours later. I still have no clue as to how he wired that thing up like he did. Wow! As soon as I had the first clue there was gonna be skinned knuckles from some half baked job from before, I advised everyone to leave the premises unless they wanted to learn some new words.....LOL. Put everyone on outdoor duties til it was done.
After Chelsea then got home from her track relay events about 3pm, we both showered and headed off to Indy for the rest of the AAU tournament, they were calling about every other hour hoping she would be done early...lol. Team they were supposed to play at 7:30 packed up and left town by the time we got there (I keep tellig Chelsea its because they heard she was coming in to town... :D ) They did play Sunday morning against one of the top 10 teams in the nation, Dayton Hoopsters. Wow was that a game to watch. They did great up until the last half of the 20 minute half, they just ran outta gas. Good experience for the girls though and at least Chelsea got another game in before some major tournaments coming up in May. And of course being on the road at the last minute like that, my diet of course SUCKED! I did manage to eat, but not all entirely what I wanted and needed. Will be better prepared for the next up coming weekends when it comes to that.

Hey B.R.

Nice job on the w/out.

Do you do any warm-up sets leading up to the r.p. sets or is it pyramiding up to the last set?

I usually do a few warmup sets to get the blood flowing going a little heavier each time...at least until I feel comfortable with the heavy weight.

Today was back to my A1 workout. This should go a little better since I have had some time to experiment with the weights.

Body weight was down 2lbs to 213lbs, probably due to not eating right all weekend.

Chest flat bench BB press 12-15 RP: 200lbs/8/3/1 (increase from last time)
DB Shoulder Military press 12-15 RP: 55lbs/9/4/2
Skull crushers EZ-bar12-15 RP: 90lbs/7/3/1 (increase from last time)
Rack chins 12-15 RP: 25lb plate/6/3/2 (found way to add weight)
T-bar row 10-12 SS: 150lbs/9 reps

Didn't feel to bad this time around.
Spent the rest of the nite getting the stuff around for the pool...finding leaks left and right....grrrrrrrrr! Hey, at least Monday is almost behind us! :) Hope to get some running in tomorrow for cardio after my daughters high school track meet.

Thanks guys, I felt pretty good on the presses too.

Well, Tuesday was a very interesting day. I drove past the street construction site where they are replacing sewer lines and all just 2 blocks south of us just in time to see a squad car pull up and stop behind me a block with his lights on. Thought that was strange until i heard a familier "hissing" sound coming from the hole in the street. GAS! And lots of it from the sounds of it. Luckily the wind was going away from our house so as not to stink us out. I just went on home, changed and went on my run outside since it was so nice out. They wound up evacuating a pretty large portion of our town in case something sparked it. Meanwhile here comes a large thunderstorm they were predicting with lightning....and lots of it along with hail! I made my run short as I wanted to get home and get everyone out of the house....lol. Chelsea had an away track meet anyways so that worked out. By the way, she and 3 others broke the school record for the 4X100 relay! :)

Let's see if I have this straight: today, gas leaks, the other day, pool leaks. What's next? A new roof?

So your little girl was one of the team that set a new school record for the relay? Terrific. I think you can rest easy as a dad. When she gets a little older and the boys start chasing her, she'll give 'em a run for their money. Enjoy your wkend big guy, I hope it doesn't rain there like it's going to here. Of course, snow is out of the question. Right? hehe.

Yes you did Miss! ;)

Alrighty, man did i feel unusually strong on the rack deads tonite. I felt like a beast and wished I had piled on more weight even after I upped the weight from the previous time. Not sure what got into me but I like it! :)

Incline BB bench press 15-20 RP: 140lbs/10/4/3 (increase)
Shoulder behind neck press BB 12-15 RP: 100lbs/8/3/2 (increase)
Narrow grip BB Bench for tris 12-15 RP: 155lbs/7/4/3 (increase)
Front lat wide grip pulldowns 12-15 RP: 160lbs/7/4/2
Rack deads 4-8 reps + 8-12 SS: 345lbs/8 reps (increase) 335lbs/12 reps (increase) I will increase probably by a good 20lbs next time at least. I know I could have done more than 8 reps on the first one and the 12 rep was close to failure but should have pulled another rep out.
Will try and get my running in tomorrow, have to get an oil change in on the truck, mow (with help of course) new skimmer for the pool (housing cracked...aged) clean pool out, then movie nite with the family and kids friends. Hope we can get in to see Spiderman 3.
Have a happy weekend!

Heya moms, i sure did enjoy the popcorn alright! :) Spiderman was sold out (as I figured it would be) so we opted for Disturbia which was really good too. Kinda like Alfred Hitchcocks "Rear Window"

Was glad to get back to work today to get some rest and recover...jeesh. Almost dislocated my thumb falling while trying to get the pool cover off, broke the vacumn head off the handle after cleaning the pool out, and a few other mishaps, said no way am i going to get up on the roof and attempt putting the solar heaters up there. Was almost afraid to light my gas grill...lol. (I like having eyebrows)

Todays workout was my B4 day
EZ-bar curls preachers 12-20 RP: 80lbs/9/4/3
Wrist curls 15-20 SS: 35lbs/16
Seated Donkey calf 15 SS: 200lbs/9
Ham curls 12-30 RP: 50lbs/10/4/3
Leg press quads 4-10 + widowmaker: 670lbs/8, 590lbs/20

This is going better and better each time with the legs. Feeling progress as far as my legs go.

Its pretty simple once you get right down to it. Its rest/pause which if you look at my workouts...you will see for instance 200lbs/9/4/3...you lift 200 for 9 reps, rest 10-14 deep breaths (or 15 seconds) and then hit it again to failure (4 reps) then another 15 seconds and then hit it one last time lifting to failure (3 reps). Mr. Someday and Chi-town have been doing this for a while also and are the ones that I have been following.

HaPpY HumP dAy Batts :)

Thanks mom24

Today was A5 workout day
Incline BB bench press 15-20 RP: 145lbs/10/3/2 (increase but was harder)
Shoulder military press BB 12-15 RP: 105lbs/9/3/1 (increase)
Reverse grip Bench for tris 12-15 RP: 135lbs/6/4/2 (increase)
Still not feeling it in the tris so I went on ahead to do another exercise for tris
Seated behind head EZ extensions 12-15 RP: 70lbs/11/6/4
Close grip V-bar pull downs 12-15 RP: 160lbs/9/4/3
BB rows 6-9, 9-12 SS: 165lbs/6, 135/9

I am about to give up on the reverse grip presses for tris. I feel it more in my bis or front delts more than anything. I have tried wider grip, closer grip....dunno, unless I can find someone nearby that does them and can show me, will find another exercise for the tris.
Hope yall had a great hump day! :)
Front lat wide grip pulldowns 12-15 RP: 160lbs/7/4/2

pastorgbc

Hey Batts,

The reverse grip bench does change the focus from your tris and incorporates more bicep in the movement. If you want to do a "benching" movement, why not do close grip bench presses? These hit your triceps very hard and are great mass builders.

Thanks Ray, I have been doing these from time to time and I do like them. Joed....the arm seem to be gettin a bit smaller. Checked at the end of last week and my measurements are down a bit. I may have to do something different with my arms here pretty soon. Maybe a superset day from time to time of bi's and tri's. At least a quick short one. my arms seem to respond better in the past that way with more exercises on them. Not sure what else to do about getting them to grow forward instead of backwards.

Where is the July show? close? :D

July show is up here in Fort Wayne Lisa. I may do one down there in Indy in September. Its a Natural competition.

Well my weekend in Tell City with my daughter was a loooong drive. Its clear down at the lower end of the state on the Kentucky border. Tell ya what...there is a whole lot of nothing down there...lol. And no one is in a big hurry to do anything either. Its no wonder they are an hour behind the rest of us..lol Funny to watch the girls after their game all get out their cell phones to start texting and there is 12 of us, including us adults running around the school grounds trying to find a signal....lol. "I got a bar over here!!!!" (everyone scrambles to that location) "I lost it" "I got one" "Give me my bar back!" LOL It was all fun though. They won all of their games so we should get a good draw for the state tournament in Indy....so Lisa...we will all be in your town Friday nite for the weekend. Games at Center Grove. Next stop after that is Nationals in Orlando! :)

Well no workout to post for yesterday and doubtful for today as well. Taylor had her conference track meet yesterday and we got home LATE. Tonite will probably be the same for sectional track for Chelsea. I am so freakin tired it isn't funny. I desperately need one of these.

All the busy weekend and now the busy start of the week is catching up very quickly with me. Fell asleep at noon yesterday in the car out in the parking lot for a quick 20 minute nap. Hey Barb! :) I drove to a park nearby at lunch yesterday, set the alarm on my cell phone and I was out! LOL Man did I need that.

The sectional track meet got canceled out due to weather, had some pretty intense storms come thru. Meanwhile on my way home from the liscense branch, Pam calls up and says "Do you know that Taylor has Spring sports awards tonite?" So in seeing the weather conditions and knowing the track may get canceled, I took her on in for that at 7 last nite. I knew they were going to surprise her with her certificate for breaking the 200m dash. She had no idea and the look on her face was priceless. :) She said she was glad we didn't tell her so that she could continue to work harder for it...so to those of you who thought I should have told her right away.....Ptttthhhhtttttt!!!! :D LOL The old record was 28.9 and she ran it in 28.0 She also came home with the Coach's trophy and the Sprinter trophy. Shes finally starting to feel better about her abilities now on her own now that she is coming out from under her older sisters shadow.
Tonite will probably be another non lifting nite since sectional is now tonite. Will go home and try to get an hour of sleep before heading out, sectional is an hour away so it will be a late one.

Nice thing about living in the middle of Amish country is eating at the Essen Haus that is just down the road from work here. It can also be a bad thing....lol. I am just getting back from what we called a "meeting" with a group of about 10 of us chowing down on the breakfast buffet. I sit here typing in a pretty severely reclined position right now feeling like a stuffed pig. I tried to keep it clean as possible...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and biskuts (that is the part that did me in) and drank lots and lots of water.
Last nite the girls sectional didn't do as good as anticipated. They wound up 3rd overall missing second place by 4 1/2 points. Our usual field event points wound up short in the discus for the first time in years (just had an off nite I guess) but that killed us there. The Chelsea pulls a muscle in her other leg this time during the 4x100 relay. Says its really tight this morning. At least several of the girls qualified for Regionals next week. Hopefully her leg will feel better by then as she is running in 3 events there.
Man is this food settling in for the day now...i really need a nap :D We're all past hump day and its almost TGIF. Hang in there gang!

Yah, killers are the buffets of the breakfast.

Count it as a cheat, and correct things in the next meal.

It sounds as if there is some serious competition at the meets. It must very exciting and draining. Tell Chelsea were rooting for her.

Thanks Ray, will do. Yes, its some very serious competition. The best will be on Tues. at Regional in Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne Northrop High always pretty much takes the state title. These girls are smokin fast!!! She gets so nervous for this one.

Today I decided to get into the gym for the first time all week. Thought I would try a 260lb chest workout (been a couple of years since I have done one of these to get up to 300) plus some tris. I gotta get my tri's back up to size again. Boy did i feel it tonite! :)

Flat BB presses: 180lbs/8, 190lbs/6, 210lbs/4, 230lbs/3, 240lbs/1, 250lbs/went down but couldn't go up....lol, 210lbs/3 reps
Incline BB presses: 135lbs/7/7/7
Flat flyes: 55lbs/8/6

Skull crushers: 90lbs/9/7/5
V-bar pressdowns: 80lbs/7, 70lbs/7/7
Dips-bodyweight: 9/8/6

Felt great....especially for my tris since I havn't felt a good tri workout in a while. I am sure I am going to feel this one tomorrow. Also weighed in at 216lbs today.

Well, I did a shoulder/trap workout yesterday, and I forgot to bring my log book to put on here what i did. This week is going to be nutso. Yesterday I had a Board meeting for the Parks and Rec Center and then baseball game to go to afterwards, tonite is my 2 youngests choir concert plus my oldest daughters Regional track meet in Fort Wayne (wife goes to one, I the other one...i prefer sports...wife will tape concert...lol) Tomorrow is my daughters 16th birthday, planning surprise party for her and 20-30 of her friends at Hacienda's, plus baseball game (will miss the ball game this time), Thursday will be 8th grade graduation program for our 2 youngests, Friday is a meeting at our church for the 2 younger ones trip for a missions trip to NY in June. o wonder I can stay so thin....lol. And with gas prices the way they are??? How can you conserve fuel with a pace like that. One of our Board members owns a local restaraunt and was saying that it has impacted his business alot. People usually came from 40-50 miles to eat there on weekends. Business has dropped by half already because of gas.

Figure I better post something here soon. Been so busy lately I havn't had the chance to update. Workouts are sporatic. I hit legs pretty hard and intense on Friday and man did I torch them. I was feeling it all weekend. Weekend was spent doing all kinds of catch up work from being away for 2 weekends in a row. I finally got the solar heater panels up on the garage roof so that I can warm our pool water up more. Its up to a barely tolerable 75 degrees. After my daughter and I got back from our 2 mile run...as hot and muggy as it is out, we both jumped in to cool off. I also now have poison ivy...got the stuff after I was pulling it off of our detached storage building, had gloves on but I knew I had this wash stuff to use after you handle poison ivy from the year before...wasn't so smart as to make sure where the stuff is before I handled the ivy...so I had to settle for soap and water (does not do well at all obviously). I have no idea where that bottle of ivy cleaner is still. Today is the last day of school for the kids. Spring sports awards is tonite also at the high school along with a baseball game for Quentin. Chelsea also is off tomorrow for Cedar Point (I wanna go so bad). Weather here is hot and muggy. Will get in a quick chest and tri workout tonite before the awards program. Not much else...just so much to do...so little time.
Have a great day all! :)

Oh I am sure Chelsea will be doing nothing but riding coasters all day today! Shes gonna have a blast.

Hey neighbor...loving this weather. still need more rain or the corn wont grow and altoid sales will drop drastically. I miss Cedar Point..we used to go 3-4 times a summer when i lived up there. I love the roller coasters.
 Damn near choked on my Altoid when I read that...LMAO (to bad no one knows the inside joke on this one.. :D)
Well, even growing up over here in Indiana, we used to go 3-4 times a year as well.

Heading to Cedar Point this Saturday as well. Haven't been there in a few years.

So where you headed with training Batt? Looks like life's playing havoc with things.
Have fun out there Nuke! Haven't been there myself either in several years. Hope to be back on track next week with my training. School is out and hopefully so is the running around for a while. Contest in Fort Wayne is July 14, so I should have a good 7 weeks of good hard lifting in by then. I don't feel it but I hear from others it looks like things are shaping out pretty good. Lots of encouragement from this end anyways and I need that right now.

Busy busy Batt!! or BBB for close friends ;)

OUch at the poison ivy!!!!!!

Oh and this rash is driving me insane!!! I wanna dig, scratch, claw and rake at this stuff big time! Arrrrrrggggg!

And speaking of workouts...thought I would do a chest/tri day like I used to with dumbbells just to see what I could still do. I usually have to drop back on these after I start back up...but....amazingly I hoisted the 110lb'ers right up the first time! Whoo hoo! :) 3 sets of flats, 3 sets of 70lb incline dumbbell presses and then 2 sets of 40lb flyes for chest. 80lbs for skull crushers (3 sets), 3 sets of V-bar tri pressdowns at 60lbs and 2 sets of dips. Felt great and had a good pump going. Probably hit back and bi's today and shoulders Saturday. Hopefully Monday I can get back to a routine.

Very nicely done, strong man.

After my current routine ends, I am going to do an 8 week program for the chest with a heavy empahsis on db work. I hope I can do as well as you did.

Oh I am sure you will do great Ray! I think switching to Barbell work for a while did me some good. I will probably do a little of both the next couple of months as I see where I can go to get ready for the 14th show if I get in decent enough shape by then.
Rats...left my log book at home again. I did a back/bi day yesterday. Started out with rack chins (3 sets weighted), v-bar pulldows, T-bar rows and I do remember the rack deads that I did. Felt great. 365lbs 2 sets at 8 reps each. Will try increasing this 5lbs at a time in order to keep the same reps going each week.

Meanwhile.....

Well I figure I had better start posting back in here again. Rather than bore the rest of the gang that already know, I won't go thru it all again on my pacemaker replacement coming up, but for those that don't know here is a link to the thread explaining it all.

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=3265291

I went on to the gym yesterday and did my usual chest/tri day. Figure I will lift up until Friday...that was until I pulled a muscle in my back along the side. I got the heavy dumbbells into place on my knees getting ready to kick back like I usually do. As I leaned back on the bench and hoisted them up at the same time, I wound up getting cockeyed on the bench with my right side being way to far off the side of the bench. Trying to get myself back square onto the bench with them dumbells up there didn't work to well. I did get at least 4 reps out before I had to scream "Uncle". Wound up dropping back 15lbs on the dumbbells to finish the flat bench workout. Boy if that doesn't mess up the rest of your workouts for the day. Today was supposed to be back/bi day but I may pass on that the way I felt this morning...lol.
Pam says she wants to take pics this week of me so that there is a before and after surgery comparison. She made it sound like I am going to find some newfound strength afterwards and turn into Hercules...lol (boy if it were only that easy)
Oh, I did forget to mention in that thread that just beforehand...I cannot eat or drink anything after midnite...and I don't go in until 10:30am that morning. All I can say is they better freakin knock me out cold making me go that long without eating! I AM packing a cooler with sandwiches and premixed protien shakes to take since I will be staying over nite....lol. I have not informed the wife of that part yet! :D
Have a great day gang....Its Hump Day!!!

Thanks Josie. I was starting to feel like Rodney Dangerfield there for a while :D Yup I do. Hence the name....batteryrequired LMAO (plus I have a hearing aid as well...more batteries). I put in a request to the doc if he can thread a wire lead down further south for the wife. He got a kick outta that one. Nurses are all for it though. He could probably retire on that patent.

Thanks, I am sure I will bounce back quickly, just the time off from the gym won't be fun.

Well, my backs feeling better, but I just didn't want to push it so I figure I may as well hold off til after the hospital stay at this point. Got a call yesterday to that my grandmother is in the hospital now with a high fever. Some sort of infection has set in and they are not sure where it is coming from. I am thinking congestive heart failure is doin it as they said her heart is weak anyhow. At 94 years old I don't doubt it. Mom and my Aunt already told the doctors there is a 'no recusitate' for her. Shes been at the Assisted Living home for couple of years now, the mind isn't totally all there lately. We are all hoping for the best thing for her right now. She had one heck of a great life.

Tis a long one so bear with me (besides....I am bored here at home today :D)
I got home yesterday late afternoon finally. The surgery went well, they did a veinscope first to see if there was enough room for another wire by shooting some dye into my IV. The guys said "Holy cow...we can get 2 semi's thru that thing!!!" LOL I looked up at the screen too and that was pretty cool to see all that. It took only about an hour and a half to do then I had to lay flat for it seemed like eternity. They finally got me up at 8:30 then that nite. I wasn't up more than 2 minutes standing and the nurse said "OMG....lay down quick, your bleeding!" The groin entry area came open and I was bleeding pretty good out of that artery. So now I had to lay down and couldn't get up until 9:30 the next day. That sucks....lol. Other than that I kept the nursing staff and my entire family totally entertained as I came in and out of sleep right after the surgery. I don't remember much of it at all but they said I was a riot.

Ok....now the bad news (at least for me it is). Doctor told my family in the consulting room that my life totally depends on this pacemaker and the main lead. He asked them what kind of weightlifting I do. When they told him, he said that I will have to not do anymore over-the-head or alot of arm movement type of exercise that puts the upper pec into repetitive motion as it could excessivly wear on that main wire and put me into a flat line instantly. Pam said that room you could hear a pin drop as they looked around trying to figure out how this was going to go over with me....lol. I guess they all looked at the doctor (a short asian dude a little older than me) at the same time then and he said "Don't look at me...I seen how big he is on the table...he will kick my ass!" They all kinda broke the news to me...he pretty much said my family doesn't care how big I am, they need me around. Especially my girls since their mom is gone too. Talk about a real life evaluation situation. It really makes you do alot of thinking. Of course it was a no brainer for me. I can do legs, arms, run and stuff that just doesn't require upper body repetitive motion with heavy stress load on it. Still havn't come out of the shock of that yet but I will just have to really modify what I do from now on.

As for my grandmother...shes finally out of the hospital. She had pnuemonia plus a blockage in her intestines. They finally got all that taken care of and shes in constant are now. Felt bad for my mom as she and my aunt were trying to be two places at once.
Well that is all i have for now. Thanks for everyones prayers and concern. I really appreciate it. Kids are taking great care of me here right now.

Hi Brian! It's good to hear you made it through the replacement well. The groin bleeding reminded me of Brian's experience after is vasectomy. He had quite a bleeder and even though it didn't hurt, he was about to hyperventilate over it. :)

I'm sorry about the chest, arm and overhead exercises that you have been advised against doing. I know that was difficult to hear, but most definitely agree that your family prefers to have you around. I'm sure it was a no brainer for you.

I know some of what the doctor told you was scary to hear and I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm glad they took care of your grandmother's issues. She's lived a long time and I know it's much better to know she's not in pain.

I emailed you a funny video Brian sent to me. It was more man funny than woman funny. :D

I had a couple of pics taken...one before and one after on my families request. I cropped for a close up of the incision area. Its pretty tender and sore yet and redness setting in. Hoping the redness goes away pretty soon. Not a good sign. Depression is really hitting me now knowing that I cannot do the lifts that I have always done before. Going thru magazines last nite and seeing weighted body dips and heavy incline and bench just really did me in knowing I will not be able to do these anymore. This has been my stress reliever for years. This is mentally killing me right now and I have to find some way to do something that will keep my chest and back the way it is now.

Hey batts, sorry to hear about that. They think training was the cause of me breaking my long wire, so it does happen. I'm only pacing 1/3 of the time and I am far more atrial (short) than ventricular (long) so I am not high risk unless I do lots of heavy inclines. If you are completely dependant, don't even think about it. Yes it's a kick in the nuts, but being alive is kind of cool and you probably want to continue.

If I was you I would pick a sport or event than you can throw yourself in to. Most of the frustration will come from lifestyle change but if you can find something physical that you can commit yourself to with the same intensity/passion it will remove a lot of the problems. Part of the depression is that you are not regulating your body with exercise at the moment, which it is used to having. When you start exercising again in any form, your mood should get better.

I had to give up competition, so I know where you are coming from, in that it's frustrating, but it's much better than the alternative.

Hey Brian! :) Thanks for sharing the photos. I was really amazed when you showed me your pacemaker (LOL -- that doesn't sound right) at Kiawah. I don't know what I expected, but it was hardly noticeable. It's amazing to me what doctors can do -- modern medicine is surely a blessing in many ways.

I was googling and found this lady in a Men's Health article. A man with a pacemaker said she was his doctor and had helped him figure out what he do.

http://www.drmicheleneil.com/

She's a sports medicine doctor and bodybuilder. Perhaps she would be nice enough to answer any questions you may have.

I also found this forum. I noticed Trish is on there also! :)

Hello everyone. Thanks so much to all of you that have kept me in your prayers and all. I popped in from time to time but just hadn't felt like posting. I am finally starting to feel like my old self again. Physically I feel great right now and that can be a problem as I am still restricted from doing some things and its hard to stop and not lift or raise my arm up over a certain level for another 4 weeks. I have been doing better mentally as well. Kids are keeping me busy. Chelsea is just getting back from Orlando from AAU Nationals and now me and her are off to Chicago Friday for the Nike Summer Slam tournament for her to play in. I am just happy I can drive again too. That alone makes life easier. 9 weeks and 5 days til I can do any running or lifting at all (yes....i am counting). Finding lots of ways to modify my lifting once I can.

Thanks Barbie! :)

What a busy weekend. Glad to be back to work so that I can get some rest...lol. Drove to Chicago on Friday as my oldest daughter played ball in the Nike Summer Slam tournament all weekend. 264 teams were there from across the country. I don't care for some of these as they don't give these girls any more than 3 minutes to warm up on the court. They didn't do to bad but we had some new girls on the team that we hadn't had a chance to practice with yet. My youngest daughter went along for the ride and we had a blast together all weekend. Then I get a phone call on my cell. My stepdaughter had driven up to O'Hare and missed her flight...couldn't get another one out until the next morning and could not find a room anywhere. Had no idea I was in Chicago at the time so got her directions to where we were, so we had her and the grandson stayin with us then Saturday nite. What were the chances of that happening....lol. We had some time Saturday between games to go catch a movie at the theaters near Woodfield Mall. Girls wanted to go see "1408". Not to bad of a movie...some parts of the middle that were hokey and the ending was dumb...but your typical teen horror flick.
Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

Ok, well, I got the ok from the doctor to go back to lifting after 6 weeks (ease into it was more the phrase), so tomorrow hopefully I can get back into the gym and start working on a routine to work with. On benching and over the shoulder type movements will be limited to 1/3 rep. I will have to use the power rack to set the pins so that I don't go to far down, or if I am working the lower rep point...to far up. It will take me several weeks to get the weight I need to use all dialed in with the reps that I want to hit. It will be scary to stand on the scale to see what I might have lost weight wise too. Its a fresh start anyways and God knows I need that right now to get thru the crap that I am going thru with my life.

YES!!!! Man did that workout do me so much good tonite. Just getting my hands wrapped around that steel bar did wonders for me! <sigh> I weighed myself right away and I am down to 203lbs. Down about 7lbs from 2 months ago which really isn't all that bad considering.
So here is the lowdown. Started off with flat bench setting the safety pins so that I could not go lower than 1/2 a rep on the high end. I will do the high end of the rep range the first few weeks and then I will switch that up to do the lower rep range so that eventually I hit the whole thing. I am doing the reps pretty slow and holding at the bottom and the top before locking out. Tried to start out light but wasn't quite light enough...man am I weak!
Flat bench barbell: 185lbs/6/4/4
Incline barbell: 135lbs/5/4/4
Dumbbell declines: 50/6/6

Next week I will go lighter so that I can hit a higher rep range until I can get my strength back. I shoulda known.

Arms I can do full reps.
Skull crushers: 70lbs/9/5/5, the last two sets I did very slow reps and contracted...learning to focus more doing my reps this way. What a killer that was.
V-bar pressdowns: 50lbs/8/8/6, again nice slow reps to feel the burn
Reverse tri pressdowns: 50lbs/10/10 with nice slow reps. I like the numbers here. Just the right rep range finally. Oh I am soooo gonna pay for this workout....I can tell already! :) God I love it!!!!
I will be doing back and bi's tomorrow. One thing that has helped me maintain focus the past 2 months is a young guy in our office has been really getting into the lifting for size now instead of just weight management and toning. Man is he muscling out!!! He's getting hungry for this now so its been fun watching him grow with this. He is hooked I know because he is starting to love the DOMS he feels. LOL
Thats it for the day gang! Thanks again guys for all your support thru this.
Oh, by the way, for those of you that go to the other web site forum for cardiac athletes...I will be posting this as well on there so that other pacemaker and heart patients can utilize this hopefully.

Battery man's back and fully recharged! Anyone need a jump? :D

Man what a HOT MUGGY day it is here today. Supposed to see another week of this stuff. But hey, at least its not snowing! :D

This afternoon was back/bi day. Pull downs were done utilizing the lower 1/2 rep.
Wide grip pulldowns: 100lbs/10 reps, 90lbs/8/8
Close grip pulldowns: 80lbs/10/9/8 form was much better on this one, nice slow reps and I could really feel the muscle working.
T-bar rows (1/2 rep upper towards chest) 70lbs/10/10 felt this one nicely as well. Going lighter, slower and feeling the reps is feeling good.
Back hyperextensions: 16/16/14

EZ bar curls:60/10 reps 50lbs/8/6 nice slow squeezes
Incline curls:30lbs/4, 22.5lbs/7, 20lbs/7
Boy am I weak on these. Forgot my forarm strap, top forarm muscle started to feel that old twinge again. And I thought 7 weeks off of it would give it plenty of time to heal up. I can still feel it dang it!!!
All in all it was a great workout. Better than no workout at all.

Also weighed in at 204lbs. Chest and tris are really feeling yesterdays workout big time. Wow.

Its another nice muggy day in the midwest. Not nearly as bad as south of here from looking at the national weather on the news today. Headed off to the gym for shoulders and traps day.
Started out with Military Barbell presses only 1/2 rep (the lower half behind the head) after 3 warmup sets. Working sets were done with slow and controlled lifts to really feel the muscle working.
Military press: 85lbs/6 reps, 75lbs/8/7
Side delt raises: 20lbs/8/6/6
Front delt raises: 20lbs/7/6
Upright rows: bar only 45lbs/10/8 (still nice and slow)
DB shrugs: 60lbs/10/8

Hard to stay backing off when I know in my head what I used to do. I am still feeling the work though big time. Amazing!

Funny story about last nite. My black lab that is 12 1/2 is barking like crazy out off our bedroom deck. Keep hollering at him to be quiet. Finally realize he has a problem. He has had seizures in the past (common in labs) and he is laying on his belly on the deck and can't get up. He is drooling all over the place so I sit next to him to keep him calm. After 15 minutes he still is not getting up. His back legs work but his front legs are not doing anything...almost like he lost use of them. I am thinking now the worst....hes had a stroke or something. I grab the phone and of course the vet is closed at 8pm. They have a number on there for after hours....which is disconnected as I try to call. Now I am really getting upset. Thinking the worst that I am going to have to put him down. Step-son comes out and looks at him and tries to lift him up....hmmm....his head won't come up. Somehow one of the links in his collar got caught between the cracks of the deck!!! Boy do I feel stupid at this point! He gets his collar freed up and off he goes running around the back yard....Whew! Poor guy.....LOL
Tomorrow is leg day....the dreaded day is near...meaning sitting on the toilet for the next week will be challenging :D
Well...off for a cool down in the pool! Have a great nite all! :)

Well I am a little late in posting Fridays leg workout. Its been a busy weekend. My 2 daughters and I just got back from the mall in Fort Wayne and the Olive Garden for dinner. We had an absolute blast together. Glad we got out for a lot of walking...after Fridays leg workout....I needed something to keep my legs loosened up. OMG are they sore. Each time getting back into the Expedition got harder and harder today...lol. Glad I took it slow and easy at the gym.
Fridays workout!
Squats: 185lbs/6/6/5
Leg Press: 580lbs/7/6/5
Calves: 580lbs/7/4 (10 second hold at the bottom past the 90degree point)
Leg Ext: 100lbs/6/6
Ham curls: 50lbs/8
These were all done slow and controlled...and believe me...I am feeling every rep of it too. Wow. Hope you all had a great weekend.

A little behind in posting my workouts.
Monday was chest/tri day. I was going to back off a bit but after seeing how my first set went and how easily it went up...I tried to keep the same weights as the week before. Man did i feel stronger :) So here is how it went.

Flat bench barbell: 175lbs/11 185lbs/8/5
Incline barbell: 125lbs/9/7/6
Lower crossovers: 40lbs/7 30lbs/7

Skull crushers: 70lbs/10/7/5
V-bar pressdowns: 50lbs/9/7/7
Rev Tri pressdowns: 50lbs/10/9
Again...these were all very slow and controlled reps. Man I felt great coming out of the gym!

Tuesday was back and bi's
Wide grip pulldowns: 100lbs/9/8/6
Close grip pulldowns: 80lbs/8/8/8
T-bar rows (1/2 rep upper towards chest) 80lbs/10/8 (increase)
Back hyperextensions: 16/14/14

EZ bar curls:60/11/8/6
Incline curls:22.5/8/7
Reverse incline curls: 50lbs/4/4

Still holding steady at 204lbs on bodyweight. That is it until Thursday. Have a great Hump Day all! :)

Yes Emma, would like to get back up to 210 at the very least. What I was before surgery. Lost a little in the chest and my arms. Down to a 16 1/2" arms now....I don't like that at all.

Back to school nite is tonite, they are doing a new thing this year and they are calling it "Night back at the School" kind of a takeoff on "Night at the Museum" THey have all kinds of cool stuff planned and all the kids are talking about it. School starts tomorrow here. Still hot and muggy here. This rain has really added to the misery.

Thanks Josie. Ya know, I feel at 100% and have all week. The strength just isn't quite all back yet...but physically I feel great.

hi

Hiya buffnab!

Well I figured I had better get in here and post Fridays leg workout. It wasn't all that great as a guy was camped out on the leg press machine for over 15 minutes and had managed to do 2 sets. People just irritate me sometimes. Tinkered around loading it up (between chatting to people), stretched for a while...then finally managed to squeeze out 1 set well after 5 minutes.....I will stop for now before I start getting irritated again...lol Signs WILL be going up next week about the gym not being a lobby....Why?!?!? Because I am the VP of the Park Board there and I can do that! LMAO They don't know I am :D (revenge is mine <enter wicked laugh> ah hahahahahaha!!!!!)
Ok now where was I? Oh yeah ....SQUATS!
Squats: 185lbs/10, 205lbs/6, 215lbs/5 (boy these felt better compared to last week!)
Leg Ext: 100lbs/9, 110lbs/8, 120lbs/7, 130lbs/6 (increase)
Ham curls: 50lbs/8/7

Hiya Batts!

I am glad to hear that you are getting back in to the swing of it :-)

How did the squats feel; any stress around the incision site due to the stretch? Squats are pretty much the yard stick so to speak, if it doesn't hurt/stress to do them, you are good to go on pretty much everything.

Hiya gang. Sorry I have been rare lately. Didn't do any workouts at all last week as I was busy taking care of personal business most of the week. Got thru things all ok. Things are much better at home now. I notice the girls seem to be doing quite well with the change. I am not nearly as stressed out either. I got back to the gym today for chest/tri day. Man I feel stronger each week! :) I did a few warmup sets then went on to do progressive weight sets. So here is how it went.

Flat BB bench press: 185lbs/11 reps, 195lbs/6 reps, 205lbs/4 reps
Incline BB press: 125lbs/10, 135lbs/6, 145lbs/4
Lower X-overs: 30lbs/11, 40lbs/8

Skull crushers: 70lbs/10, 80lbs/5, 90lbs/3
V-bar pressdowns: 50lbs/11, 60lbs/6, 70lbs/3
Dips (bodyweight): 8 and 6

That was all for the day. There won't be any lifts tomorrow as the girls have volleyball just 3 minutes from where I work. Will save myself a trip and just go in later and leave later to go straight to the game. Save myself a 25 minute drive each way that way. Been reading thru some of the journals, looks like you all have been busy! Wow, lots of catching up to do with you all. Girls have been doing awsome at volleyball though. Took 2nd place at the Invitational Saturday. Chelsea's shoulder is pretty sore after recording 42 kills for the day and a bunch of blocked shots as well. That 6'3" is coming in handy! :D 2nd place is the best the school has done ever at that Invite! Taylors JV team is really coming around as well. Starting to really make an impact now. Fun to watch! :)

Ok guess I better go ahead and post my workout from yesterday. Been a busy weekend with the big Marshmallow Festival going on in town here. Just got back from watching a popular band in the Tri-state area here.

3 sets of warmups and all ready to go.
Wide pulldowns: 100lbs/11, 110lbs/9, 130lbs/6
Close grip pulldowns: 80lbs/10, 90lbs/8 reps, 100lbs/6
T-bar rows: 80lbs/9, 90lbs/7, 100lbs/6
Back hyperextensions: 14 and 12 reps
Ez-bar curls: 60lbs/11, 70lbs/7, 80lbs/4
Incline curls: 22.5lbs/9, 25lbs/7, 27.5lbs/6
Rev. curls: 40lbs/6/5 (feel the ole muscle strain on this one again)
Behind back BB wrist curls: 105lbs/10/7

The bummer part. I am down to 201lbs bodyweight!!! :( This part is driving me nuts. Need to start woofing down some serious calories again. I am sure alot of it is due to the stress earlier.
The next major bummer....Notre Dame got slaughtered today! Man have they got some work to do this week.

Well things have been kinda crazy lately....refinancing the house and all that good stuff in trying to get things settled. I have been getting my workouts in but just no motivation to post anything it seems. Its been bad enough trying to force myself to go to the gym anymore. Down to 200lbs which I don't really care for. Need to eat more I guess. Sinus stuff has been going around here alot lately too and i know that isn't helping much. I have noticed a big difference in my girls at home too. They are doing alot better at keeping things picked up and away more than before. Probably felt like me there for a while, if no one else is going to...why should I....lol. Have had several people ask if I was going to keep that big house. Heck yeah. At least until the girls are off on their own....then who knows what will happen. Move south where its warmer??? :)
Headed out to do back and biceps...I will try and post it...lol. Catch ya all later!

Hi Batt! Nice to see you posting again! :) Sounds like you have a lot going on.

Thanks. Would be posting again if it wasn't for the cable company disconnecting me instead of the upgrade install they were supposed to do. That was the last straw for them. Told them to keep it as they said it wouldn't be until Oct 2 for a reconnect. The local LigTV will be out Thursday to hook me up with the newest digital service along with the DSL and phone service....a much better package deal. Morons.....oh and then 3 hours after I called about why i was disconnected....one if their reps called me up and said "I see we were out there today, I was wondering how you like your new upgrade and was the service ok" Boy did he get an earful! :D I was ticked.

Had no idea you was opening up a can of worms did ya Debbie...lol

I am actully getting such a better deal thru this thing. Thinkin about dropping the phone service altogether though since the girls and I have our cell phones...we rarely even use the home phone and it rarely rings....except when organizations want money. So I may just save myself another 40-50 bucks by knocking that part off.
Found out too that I get The Big Ten Network with my service...3 channels of all the games for the Big Ten Conference here. I am gonna love that come basketball season! :)

So in a nutshell that is what I have done the past month or so. Workouts have been sporatic due to the girls volleyball games and curveballs in life that I have had to deal with in general.
First off....find out my 14 year old freshman daughters thyroid is underactive...poor kid has been losing weight and is thin as a rail not to mention she has been fatigued beyond belief along with eating like a horse. Shes burnin up calories sitting still.
That same week....I came home a week ago Friday to find my dog LJ (my black lab of almost 13 years) lying on his bed mat and more than likely hadn't moved all day long. He was weak and I could tell he was not in good shape at all. I had to scoop him up still on his mat and put him in the back of my Expedition and get him to the vets to have him put down. I was just sick having to do that....but at the same time I was so glad to see him not suffering anymore. That was an awful day. Then having to tell my girls after they got home from practice. We buried him out back.

My bodyweight is finally on the upswing. I went down to 200lbs and now back up to 206lbs yesterday. Strength is finally coming back somewhat and is really showing up in my back workouts. Mr. Someday got me hooked on Rack Deads and I am loving it! I will try to post more often and get some visiting done on everyones journals. I see there have been some that are MIA! Whats up?

Hey Batts....hope all is well with you ?

I really want to go to Flynn's SHow on the 27th.....but I have to work at the bar both the 26th and the 27th.......getting off at like 6am on Saturday morning and having to work again on Saturday night.

I have a new friend at my gym who is competing on the 27th at the Continentials in St. Charles IL which is like 30 mins from my house. This dude is going to come in in awsome shape. His only slightly weak spot is calves but he has everything else......I mean everything.....I HATE HIM. LOL

I may not hit either show or I may only be able to do the Continentials
